Edit 2: The owner has not only refused to provide the video but they've also threatened me by telling me they know where I live and that they'll sue me for my review (see attached image). I've never seen this level of unprofessionalism from a business owner. Also, I haven't purchased anything from this business so the only way they would have my information is if they went out of their way too look me up online which is frankly quite disturbing. Brought my Volvo in on Saturday to see if a remote start can be installed in my car. The guy said he had to check to see if my cars compatible so he pulled it into the back of the shop and brought it back like 5 minutes later said sorry he couldn't do it. No problem I said and left but as I'm driving I hear a weird thumping noise coming from the front of my car. i pull over and check and part of my bumper is loose. I pop the hood and all but 1 of the 6 fasteners are gone so front bumper was basically hanging on by a thread. Thankfully I noticed it before I got on the highway where I'm 99% certain my bumper would have fallen off and caused an accident. Also the rubber molding on the driver side was not properly pushed back in but that's not nearly as much of a concern. I do not recommend bringing your vehicle here at all but if you do remember to take pictures of EVERYTHING before they touch your car.

The owner avoids all my calls afterwards and makes excuses and lost $400 for an amp that was only worth 129.99 retail. As a recommendation from a coworker I called audiondriven and I talk to Thomas about my problem, he said if I can make in today he will look at it. Later on that day I came to the shop, he dropped everything to look at my problem while also helping customers. He showed me everything that the other shop did wrong. None of the wires soldered down, everything wrap up and tangled and no care was taken for my car. I could of had a better shot of doing it myself and I can only pump gas and change out my air filter. Thomas readjusted the amp that was in my car to make it manageable and highly suggest to put a better amp in soon as possible. He took care of me that day when I was freaking out thinking my new car I just bought a couple months back that sound system was going to crash and I gotten ripped off by the amp I was sold. Sucks he had to fixes someone else's mistakes. Two weeks later I took his advice and put in a jl audio amp and then alpine speakers. Now my system breaths new life. I highly recommend this place. Don't try the rest, try the best.

I'm going to write this review like Jesus would by pointing out two things they know how to do…read moreright. First, they know how to install remote starters well. Second, they are very friendly. However, the main issue I have with them is their lack of integrity. First, Carlos, the counter guy try's to sell me a remote starter that already comes with an alarm. He told me, "for an extra $20 bucks I could add an alarm system to go with your remote starter." Not knowing much about the Compustar Q9 package, I said, "okay, it sounds like a good deal." (Not to mention, he charged me an extra $100 for the drone module that probably already came with the $500 system.) But that's not what really bothered me. After using the alarm system for about four months, I finally had enough of the glitchy and annoying alarm. I don't think it was fully in sync with my Ford F150. So I came back and told them that I wanted the alarm removed. So, what did they do? They removed the entire $650 Compustar Q9 remote start system from my truck. Why...? ( I knew I should have been more specific with them.) So I told Luis, the manager, "you made a mistake. I only wanted the alarm removed, not my entire remote starting system." I paid $650 dollars for the remote starter. I didn't pay all that money for a cheap alarm. It was a big mistake. And when I told him this, he tried to deceive me into buying another remote starting system that doesn't come with an alarm already built in. He wanted to charge me another $250 bucks for something I didn't need. Not knowing much about Compustar systems, I asked ChatGPT for help. Thankfully, ChatGPT told me everything I needed to know. All I had to provide was two simple things. Ultimately, instead of just disabling the alarm and keeping the remote starter installed. (Which is what they should have done from the beginning.) Luis wanted to take advantage of my ignorance and rip me off an extra $250 bucks. It was a simple reprogramming issue that Luis refused to acknowledge. And tried very hard to make me believe there was no other way around it. I'm going to paste the exact ChatGPT reply, along with the text message I sent to Luis (the manager of J's Sound Shop) down below: I asked chat GPT about the issue I was having. And I asked if it was necessary to remove the whole remote start system from my F150. And based on the model number of the system and the model number of the bypass module, it was NOT necessary to take the whole thing off. You could have left the remote starter installed and just taken the alarm off. See the text below: (Chat GPT replied) I can clearly identify two modules: Compustar CM-900AS (the remote start controller) iDatalink Blade-AL (the bypass/data interface module) The Blade-AL plugs directly into the CM-900AS and allows the remote start to communicate with your 2018 Ford F-150's factory electronics, including the immobilizer and CAN bus. This is a very common, proper installation. What this means for your original question Based on this hardware, I do not see any reason the entire remote start system had to be removed just because you wanted the alarm removed. The alarm functions are not inseparable from the remote start. A competent installer can often: Disable the alarm features. Disconnect or remove the siren, shock sensor, or alarm wiring.
