My tire was blown and I was riding on one spare. I needed to get my snow tires on desperately, for the weather conditions as well as safety so my brother told me to just stop by Five Star. They were courteous and inexpensive. And I probably waited under an hour there - they actually let me sit behind the counter, right by their heat to keep warm. They offer a ton of other stuff for your car too and can just about install anything you need on the spot (as I witnessed another customer get installation done). Great place! read more

AVOID Poor quality work, my car is worse off than I left it. -Scratched my dash in dozens of places, looked as though he used a sharp tool to pop it out. -A/C unit was broken, dial would not turn past defroster. Refused to fix it, I kept trying to make appointments and getting blown off, had to get it fixed elsewhere. -A front speaker didn't even work, had to bring it back and wait another day to repair. Overall, had a bad experience. Save yourself the headache and drop an extra few dollars to get it done right by a more reputable company. read more

If this Yelp review gets noticed, I would actually be more grateful than the person that is utilizing it, here is my reason why. As a car enthusiast with some weird OCD for accuracy and quality - I was extremely skeptical and shopped around for months, daily - for the "perfect" installer not just in my local area, but in the city as a whole. I called numerous shops, individuals - all whom were pretty informative and gave me honest answers to my knowledge. I met William of Five Star Mobile Electronics through a friend and through my various and numerous badgering of questions, concerns, and expressions of what I wanted to have within my vehicle.. the date was set. Fast forward a week, I changed the date on him last minute, William said, "no problem!" Arrived 30 minutes early, was promptly greeted and the install was underway. I was quoted about 5 hours of work, so I spent time in the local area enjoying the sights and sounds of the city, on a 30 degree day here in the city. I called in a couple of times to see how the status was going, telling him no problem and no need to rush. He kept informing me in detail as far as what was being done, if he should do this, do that, how to do it (what the end results would be like if I did it a certain way, if he did a certain way, etc.), and patiently answered any last minute questions I had at the time. Seven hours later, the vehicle was complete. Not only did I not have to walk about (my choice prior) 30 minutes back to his shop, him and his nephew picked us up and drove us back to the shop. William gave me a full walkaround and walkthrough of the work he did, showed me every option available done within the install. It worked perfect. Driving 45 minutes home and then testing it out, I had a few questions (not concerns) and he promptly still answered my phone call and texted me additional information. The simplest thing I can say here is, there is no shortcut for honest and hard work, for integrity and character. Many shops will be more than happy to upsell you the "best" (and most expensive) unit, but William takes the time to listen to you describe exactly what you want, and will give you options as far as what to choose from, whether it be on a budget, security, or convenience standpoint. No pressure by any means, just very informative. William has earned my business and I will be more than happy to tell my friends and family of his work. Thank you William (and Peter). Five stars for Five Star. I had a new stereo w/navigation and a backup camera installed for half the price that other places were asking for. The installation took several hours, but luckily, there's this pretty good Mexican restaurant across the street. It was a very high-quality, professional installation, and everything worked perfectly. Unfortunately for me, it was such a nice stereo set that someone broke into my car and stole it several months later. I called Mr. Lee and just got a new unit installed (one with a detachable screen this time). He was also kind enough to help me repair some of the break-in damage (damaged panels, broken bezel...) for no extra cost. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants an aftermarket car stereo installed. Just make that you have a car alarm (or park in a garage)! Otherwise, you should get the model with the detachable screen. read more

Excellent service and fair price. I had the viper v5806 (with alarm and 2 way remote starter) and viper smartphone start installed on my Toyota Rav4 2014 LE. I'm very happy with the final product. Mr. Lee does good handy work, pays close attention to detail, and makes sure everything looks good aesthetically. He made good use of the electrical tape and zip ties so that everything fits in nicely and in an organized way under and behind the steering wheel. He will take your car to a garage in a house and do everything there. No need to worry. He is fast, honest, and good. You can come along and watch if you'd like. I'm glad I didnt have bestbuy do it. I've heard so many horror stories of botched installs there. Mr. Lee has been doing this work for 15 yrs. He guarantees an excellent installation. read more

It's near Chinatown and run by a quirky guy who speaks really fast. He does decent work (I've bought 2 remote starters from him), and his prices aren't bad. I'm contemplating about seeing if he can install an aftermarket stereo for a new car. My only reservation is his customer service. The shop sits in an area that's pretty run down and it's easy to drive right on by his place. It's no frills and he doesn't have a shop, but rather does his work in an alleyway....or maybe he has some tucked away garage (at his house?) that he takes his cars to work on. He's HARD to get ahold of. His posted hours are not accurate, he seems to come and go as he pleases. Which is fine since it's his small business, but as a customer, it's almost impossible to predict when he'll be there. More than once, I've shown up in normal business hours to find his shop locked up (even his employees can't seem to track him down at times). All and all, if you feel comfortable about the quirks, he does do decent work. However, I'd probably feel better about taking my car to him if I could track him down easier. read more

I've never seen a harder worker. I had bought a Viper security system after 3 break-ins in 3-weeks time and had this guy install it. He really went over and beyond what I'd expect anybody to do when installing a security system. Everything turned out very clean and professional looking and works great! The antenna that came with the security system I bought (from Amazon) was found to be faulty after installation (typical scenario I guess after reading some reviews on the system I bought); luckily he had plenty of spares in his shop and was able to switch out/rewire everything, keeping an extremely positive attitude the whole time. So I'm an international student from India and found this place close to my apartment. Mr. Lee was very kind, down to earth, honest and helpful. He did a perfect and fast stereo installation for me for a very good price. Towards the end I asked to buy an auxillary wire and wasn't satisfied until I got the best fitting one which was the same price even though I said it was okay. Oh yeah and screw best buy they wanted me to set an appointment online and when I got there their behavior was like they were doing me a favor while Mr. Lee was conversating with me during the installation.
