I had a two way alarm put in my Nissan van and also some tint on the side windows. Very average work quality. Price was fair. If you're looking for perfection this not a place for you. Otherwise it still gets the job done. read more

Extremely nice and friendly people over here at Gold sound. The owner, Sung, was an amazing installer. Extremely kind, honest, and fast. He knows what he's doing, installed my Amp in less than an hour, even with complications from my previous wiring ! Fairly priced as well. Would highly recommend. read more

Picked this location using Yelp projects. Mr. Sung replied with a quote within 24 hours. Follow-up was easy. Set appointment for drop off at 10am. Car was ready by 1:30pm. Mr. Sung went over how to use my Viper 1-way remote start. I felt comfortable leaving his shop in knowing how to operate my remote stop. Because I have a push button, I was super nervous about getting this installed. For the price, quick communication and install, it was worth the drive to Irving Park. I felt the price was 20% lower than every other quote. Mr. Sung only deals in cash. So keep that in mind. Mr. Sung does not offer refunds but does give Lifetime warranty. I am happy with my remote start so far. read more

Gold Sound - Car Stereo Installation Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Sung did an incredible job installing my new stereo and front/rear door speakers with crossovers for my 2nd Gen Toyota Prius. He was very familiar with the parts that I bought online from Crutchfield. It was a quick turnaround time: I called him in the morning, dropped off my car, and was able to pick it up later that day. It's been maybe 6 months and the speakers are still working great! His price and turnaround time was very reasonable especially compared to other quotes that I got from businesses in the area. He's very professional and responsive via phone. When you go he may be working in the garage but just give him a call and he'll come out. He was very transparent about how long the install would take and I was happy with his same-day turnaround. He even helped me connect my phone to the stereo Bluetooth when I picked up my car to verify it works before I paid. Note that it's cash only. If you order parts from Crutchfield, make sure you get all the correct adapters too. Gold Sound has an inventory of speakers/stereo systems too if you don't want to bring your own parts. I definitely would recommend Gold Sound for speaker installation services! read more

I was looking to get a remote starter installed for my car (push start) before winter. Found this place on Yelp, reviews were amazing so quickly called for a quote. Mr. Sung's price was fair, and he seemed knowledgeable and experienced. Getting an appointment was easy and I was driving my car within a couple of hours after dropping it off! Remote starter (1-way Viper) runs great! I can tell he takes pride in his work and stands by it. read more

Gold Sound did a superb job at my dash cam installation. They hardwired the camera system to the car battery (so I can do parking mode recording as well as not have to connect the power into the cigarette lighter) as well as hid all the cables. I had previously installed my dash cam but cables were a constant nuisance in my way, and when I looked up how to hide everything it was a very involved process that I couldn't do. Gold Sound even went above and beyond in hiding the back window cables, you can't even tell there's a camera back there. The owner Sung was also very nice and pleasant to me and my toddler son. He put me at ease throughout the process. I will be coming back to get other auto things installed. I highly recommend! read more

I have been to Gold Sound several times. Sung replaced my car radio. Also adjusted the sensitivity on the car alarm system. My sister bought the alarm system from a place in Indiana so I had to have it installed there. Kept having problems with it but Sung solved all the issues. And when my passenger door lock stopped locking he was able to get it working again. Prices are very reasonable. Plus he has a great personality. read more

I have a 2003 camry with an old speaker making rattling sounds whenever I play my music. Listening to music while driving is my favorite thing, but I didn't want to spend too much money on my car. But since I have to drive this car for a little longer, I just wanted to check on prices online. I found Gold Sound and Mr. Park gave me a really good price which I was really surprised, so I decided to change it without question! He said he is available next day and it took less than 2 hours for installing. Now I have a new speaker with no more rattling sound and I feel like I can drive this car even longer. Paul is also super nice and friendly to talk to, he is professional in car stereo systems; I would definitely recommend this place if you need repair or any upgrades for your stereo system! read more

Contacted them through Yelp about getting some speakers I had installed in my Subaru Outback after I decided the project was too much to DIY. They were able to fit me in pretty quickly so I dropped by a couple days later and got the job done same day. We took a look at some of the installations and I tested out the speakers with some music, moving the balance/fade around the car, and everything was great. A week later I've had both long and short drives, and haven't heard any rattles or anything that would indicate an issue with installation. Price was fair and less than other places I contacted. I would highly recommend. read more

These guys just repaired the car stereo on my 2010 Mazda5. Gold's is a very informal place, no appointments, and be prepared to pay cash. The gentleman fixed my car quickly while I sat in an office chair a few feet away, watching. Yeah, no frills, no wasted overhead - I felt like I was back on the South Side. Gold's is a great find for those of us looking to squeeze value out of an older vehicle. read more

Came here because it was recommended to me by some neighbors. The man who helped me was the owner I believe. What an amazing find!! The owner is such a kind, thrust worthy guy. The quality of the stereo and installation was top notch! The cost was very competitively priced. I will never go anywhere else. Didn't think I'd be writing this kind of review for this place, but here I am. I just walked in the door right now and this all transpired a little less than an hour ago. I'm going to save some people some time, TLDR: They are straight up thieves and have absolutely no problems lying straight to your face about the work they 'completed'. I caught him red handed in a bold face lie with the equipment that he 'installed' in his cabinets while still in the plastic packaging. I went over to Gold Sound to get a a remote starter put on and my amp/sub installed along with a set of 6x8's. I had the install kit, bass knob, and all the wiring ready to go for him. All that had to be done was it to be installed. He quoted $700 after it was all said and done. I didn't even bat an eye at the price and he told me it'd be done in 4 hours. This is their job, this is what they do and I've had work done by them before. Get a call at 5:10pm informing my that my car will be done in about 20 mins. End up getting there and he is still messing with it. The first thing I notice was the wiring to my amp, subs, and off the battery were not the wires I provided. He told me they were too thick(It was a 4g that was recommended with my amp). He planned on keeping this kit that I purchased until I mentioned that I wanted it back. He instead used a $25 DB Link Audio amplifier kit with a 12g wire. After that I decided to pop my trunk to check the 6x8's I'm paying this person who just 'installed' them, and sure enough they were still the factory speakers.... Mind you he had all the empty boxes next to the car as if the 6x8's were installed along with my sub/amp. He was a great showman. Upon asking about the 6x8's he then told me that he installed them in the front. Problem with that is that I replaced those myself about a couple weeks beforehand and I was very clear and repeated myself numerous times that the rear speakers need to be replaced. Then when I asked for those speakers back, he very reluctant at first, but when pressed he proceeded to walk me to the back room to show me the speakers he 'took out' my front doors. They were the same speakers I provided them to install still in the plastic unopened. He planned on stealing those from me along with my amp kit. No qualms about it whatsoever with a straight face. When confronted, and knew he was caught, instantly out of his mouth "I'll do it for free! Set it up any day this week!' 'I've been in business 30 years!!' The best was: 'It was a miscommunication between you and my worker!' The only person I talked to was the same person who worked on my car. The same person who was ready to steal my equipment, money and ultimately confronted about it. I was completely blown away on how blatant it was, which means this isn't the first nor the hundredth time this guy has done it. Which explains why they only take cash as payment and it's all verbal contract for work. Again, I don't ever do this. I would normally just move on, but that was beyond ridiculous and people need to know this. If you've had work done at this place and haven't checked now is the time to look. If you don't know what you're looking for, take it to someone that does. I'll end up editing this review because I'm sure I'm going to find out that I have issues somewhere with the Viper Alarm I paid them to install. I haven't even had the chance to sit down and check out if that was done correctly. read more

From the moment I walked in I was met with a warm welcome. My car stereo was going out and needed a new one. The gentleman (sorry can't remember his name), took the time to answer all my questions. Even took me around to show me everything as he explained it. He had all the products I need. Even went out his way to get one extra part i may need for my rear camera to work. I told him I would go home and think things over from all the information he provided and give him a call. Came home, thought about it and called him back. Not expecting to get the work done so soon, he not only remembered me but said no problem, come in tomorrow and he would do the work. Other places were telling me 3 to 4 weeks out before they had time. Showed up the next day, took him less than 1:30 to install radio. Come back to pick up my car. LOOKED GREAT!!! Was very impressed.
