Nothing works properly since they installed the amp. My alarm doesn't beep. The speakers crackle. The dash doesn't light up. I reviewed this place before but Yelp decided it wasn't of value so it removed it. These guys decided not to fix the problems when I negatively reviewed them. They're a bunch of pansies. So disappointed. I read all the reviews and brought my car in to get them to listen to my buzzing speakers. They recommended that we get the front tweeters replaced. They told me it would be quick - a hour or so. I made an appointment and when I got there waited close to 3 hours, so I was only able to take a quick listen to the new tweeters. Didn't sound great (no bass anymore) but I had to leave. I hoped that I could tweak the bass and it would be better - aren't tweeters the high end anyway? My husband listened and called Autosonics. They were great and asked to bring in the car July 5. My husband took time off of work, only to get a call a week later saying that they decided to close and would need to reschedule. My husband took another morning off and brought in the car as scheduled at 9am. They were late. And then they said that they had installed the wrong part so they would need to time to reinstall the correct parts. While they were great about refunding us and offering to drop off the car after they were done, when we got the car, we found that there was still no bass - I thought they replaced the tweeters, not the woofer - AND my auto-open feature on the drivers' side window doesn't work anymore. We can't take the car back again. We can't keep taking days off to trust that they'll get it right. I'm so disappointed. *UPDATE* a few hours later, my car has died completely. I can't start it at all. No problems before with battery. read more

Went in with a distorted sound on the low end, they said it was the tweeters. Okay, they're the pros. so I'll heed to what they say. Came home and low end totally missing. Called them back and they told me they installed the wrong tweeters, will replace out to the correct ones at no charge. At no charge, no s$!t, you f$&k it up, waste my time and tell me you're doing at no charge? This time they drove the car back to my place after the 2nd repair, I listened and still no bass. Told them it was fine cuz I didn't wanna deal with them again. How do these "pros" screw it up twice? I see a mix of great and not so great reviews so ultimately your decision. Had the Autosonics team install aftermarket remote start on two cars, a BMW and a Mini. Not inexpensive, but considering Chicago winters it's definitely worth it. Team did a great job - completed on time, no issues. Explained how the system worked, emailed a soft copy of the manual, walked me through how they had installed it, got an additional key fob purchased / configured, etc. Very happy with the install - two weeks in, works as flawlessly as expected. read more

Without thinking I purchased an Apple CarPlay upgrade for my Audi A3 from Amazon. All the auto stereo businesses either had long waits and terrible prices or refused to help me. I sent a quote request the rough Yelp and Autosonics responded with the time it would take and the price, which was completely reasonable. They finished my install in less time than quoted and I love having Apple CarPlay on the screen in my car. They have a nice waiting area, but there is also a Starbucks close by so don't let the location stop you from going to them. A+ highly recommend. read more

Had a system put together by a big well known place. It never really sounded right to my trained ears. I've had systems in my cars for the last 20 years and BMW's are completely not DIY like the old days. So after months of trying to tweak it with a friend I sent it here. The Guys here were quick to spot the issues. one was 2 speaker wires were on reversed????? and the crossover settings we're not right. It's sounds so much better now. They were helpful right away! Not only did they have very fair prices, but they provided excellent and friendly costumer service. I had a remote starter and installed in an older BMW. Most installers will shy away from the high quality BMW remote starters because they can be complex. Not Autosonics. I really appreciate the level of care and honesty from this team. We're already taking another car for a remote starter and they were super helpful with options which gave us more bang for our buck. Also, if you're getting the remote starter, get the Drone Cell module. Their app is very simple and I can start my car from anywhere now as well as track it's location. The cell module and app are from a 3rd party vendor, called drone but it's also higher quality. Definitely get the Drone cell module which works with an app. read more

After searching the Chicagoland area trying to find a shop that would install a pre-purchased auto-start into my VW Golf at a fair price, 'Yelp' recommended 'Autosonics'. I recently had a remote starter put on my 2006 sienna and it works great. I'm pretty busy at work so I asked for a quote and set an appointment with Aldo through email. He was very informative and responses were quick. The 2 guys that helped me were nice and explained to me everything thoroughly. The price was good in my opinion. There are many mobile installers that might do it cheaper but if there's a problem later how will you find them? Overall I would highly recommend this place. If I could put a negative star here I would. My experience with AutoSonics was the worst experience I've ever had in the 25 years that I've been involved in car audio. I had recently bought a car & decided to put in a completely new system from my last. I met with Mario at AutoSonics & explained what I wanted. I only had a few requirements, but I was very specific about them. He assured me that he could do what I wanted & that he had specific components in mind. Unfortunately, Mario didn't listen to what I wanted. Despite my obvious concerns for things like the location of the DSP, he put it where he wanted - and without my approval. On top of that, from the moment I picked my car up from them, there were nothing but issues across the board - sound deadening, EQ, DSP, etc. I tried to set up time to come back so the issues could be resolved, but the lack of response to my calls, e-mails, & texts for weeks was incredibly frustrating. So much so that I just showed up to have them take it all out. But once again, Mario did what he wanted and only took an amp & one of the processors out. On top of that, he uninstalled my original sub with attached amp that had already been in the car before they worked on it. It was just laying in the trunk without an explanation. Since it was obvious they weren't going to have integrity behind their work or word and I couldn't take how bad the system sounded anymore, I had to go somewhere else. Unfortunately, when another company looked at the system to fix it, they blew one of the new speakers that was just put in by AutoSonics. When I contacted Mario for the warrantee, he said he wasn't going to give me the information (despite him specifically highlighting the warrantees during his sales pitch). Instead, he said I would have to bring the car in for him to "diagnose" the problem and would have to charge me! The audacity! It wasn't until I made it clear that legallythe speakers were mine and explained that when the speakers/components were purchased, any warrantee gets transferred to me/the owner. It was only then that he relinquished the warrantee information. I don't know if it's because I'm disabled, but it was always like he was trying to take advantage of me. He was even incredibly disrespectful and chauvinistic when speaking with my sister. Considering I paid AutoSonics more than $5,500, the way the system sounded was pitiful. The original B&O speakers sounded better. And to add insult to injury, it's since cost me an additional $3,500to have his work straightened out. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. You'll end up wasting your time & money. read more

They worked on it a few times without charging me. When they determined that there was a problem with the unit, they respectfully offered to replaced it.
