Once he was here, we asked him his opinion on two wall switches in a different room that were not working, and he stayed longer (while I ran to Home Depot for new toggle switches) to fix both of them as well for just a little more added to our total. The fan install was a little more difficult than Ted anticipated, and it was an insane night in our home as well (my husband's car was at the shop and he needed it for work the next day so we had to get that taken care of while Ted was here working) - I'm sure he thought we were nuts, but he was very gracious and understanding about everything! The end results look great, and I am SO happy our light switches are working again - all of this was done for a third of the cost we were quoted by someone else to just do the install and paint the office ceiling (we ended up doing the painting ourselves anyway). We will definitely be calling on Ted in the future for all our other electical needs - he is knowledeable, quick, and neat. Thanks, Ted! Do not hesitate to give him a shout out if you need electrical work or wiring done.

My 9 year old spent a lot of the spring whining about getting kicked off zooms and I have to admit that I'd be pretty annoyed if that was happening to my work calls. One week into fall e-learning and I told my husband we had to look into upgrading our wifi again. A bunch of people had suggested the Eero pro drastically improved their lives. He bought it and called Paul's Winnetka TV to install it. Paul showed up (masked of course) a few days later and told us we didn't need the pricey Eero and he could make our wifi oh so much better, especially in the rooms where it wasn't working as well (mostly my daughter's corner room upstairs and my husband's office in the basement). I'm not really sure what he did (some sort of re-rerouting), but he spent many hours here and our internet works perfectly in every room. It's always worked well in my office, but it's extra fast now, which I love. And most importantly no complaints from our resident 9 year old whiner. He charged us $400, which was less than the Eero (we returned it). He even showed up a few days later as promised with wood shelves to go under the routers and very patiently helped me re-connect my printer to the network. I've heard of so many others having network issues as we adjust to our temporary lives working/schooling at home and would highly recommend giving Paul a call.

Two years later, I went back for another replacement, since watch batteries typically last around two years. That time, the associate suggested I opt for their "KITWATCHLIFE" service, a lifetime battery replacement for that specific watch, for $21.99 plus tax. It was only about $9 more than a standard battery replacement, so I figured that if I used it just one more time, I would come out ahead. I was told all I would need to do in the future was provide my phone number. I saved my receipt, just in case. Fast forward to today, I returned for another battery replacement. The store was empty except for one associate, Samantha. At first, she seemed hesitant, not because she didn't want to honor the lifetime service, but because she was concerned about damaging an expensive watch. She mentioned that if the watch was worth more than $150, they might instead offer to refund the lifetime service fee or transfer it to a different watch. I told her the battery had already been replaced twice there without issue. She decided to proceed and, to my surprise, replaced the battery in just a few minutes, much faster than previous visits. In the end, I definitely got my money's worth. If you have a watch that isn't particularly expensive, I think this is a good program to consider at Batteries Plus. Just be aware that some staff might be cautious if your watch is on the pricier side.

So, I have a unique perspective on the customer experience and what it takes for a business to provide consistent excellence in service. The Microcenter store in Westmont is beyond exceptional! The commitment showed by the staff to treat their guests well goes far beyond most typical retail locations. I visit often and feel so valued as a customer. Having been in the industry for so long, most in multi store management, I observe different aspects of the experience when I'm personally shopping stores. And at Micro Center Westmont, I observe a clean, well-organized store with friendly, helpful and knowledgeable team members who have a genuine interest in ensuring their guests are treated well. Far too many positive personal examples from my many visits to share, but the consistency is truly admirable. Now do they occasionally make a mistake or does something not go as planned? Of course! If it didn't they wouldn't be human beings as we all make mistakes, right? But I am so impressed with how hard the team works to correct those issues, big or small. The prices are fair, the price matching policy is very good and the return policies are exceptional. Micro Center is ALWAYS my first choice for tech and it's due mainly to the dedicated staff at the store who go above and beyond. If you've never been to a Micro Center, I'd highly suggest the Westmont location. Like me, you'll probably become a customer for life!

So I start looking around for someone to help me. 5 min passed and not one employee was available to help. Not one. So I decided I'll go find the splitters in the meantime, found one that I needed but other one was evading me. This time I go around the store looking for someone to help me out. Finally gave up and asked an employee to help me out after they finished with their current customer. The kid wasnt even looking in my direction just nodded his head. I had every single item i needed in my Amazon cart, but I still chose to drive here to give them my business. A few minutes of waiting, I just put back whatever I picked up and left. Ordered it on Amazon instead right there in the store. Employees here don't want to help, you can walk miles in that store before anyone will even bat an eye. I don't recommend this place at all. Far from what it used to be.
