The owner avoids all my calls afterwards and makes excuses and lost $400 for an amp that was only worth 129.99 retail. As a recommendation from a coworker I called audiondriven and I talk to Thomas about my problem, he said if I can make in today he will look at it. Later on that day I came to the shop, he dropped everything to look at my problem while also helping customers. He showed me everything that the other shop did wrong. None of the wires soldered down, everything wrap up and tangled and no care was taken for my car. I could of had a better shot of doing it myself and I can only pump gas and change out my air filter. Thomas readjusted the amp that was in my car to make it manageable and highly suggest to put a better amp in soon as possible. He took care of me that day when I was freaking out thinking my new car I just bought a couple months back that sound system was going to crash and I gotten ripped off by the amp I was sold. I ordered a remanufactured one from Autozone and their vendor was not able to provide them one after a 2 week wait. I found Northlake Auto Recyclers online and they had the head I needed in stock and already pulled. It was off a 2018 Dodge Journey. Cost for the head was $125. They come with a disclaimer that heads are for use as cores to be rebuilt only and are only guaranteed not to be cracked or warped. I took the head to a machine shop and the tech said it was in such good condition that he did not recommend rebuilding it and only did a quick milling of the sealing surfaces to be sure it was true and clean for the head gasket. Just started up the car and it runs great. I highly recommend this place. It is not a junkyard. It is more similar to a parts store but all the parts are used. You go in, tell the guys at the counter what you want, and they go in back and get it off a shelf for you. They have tons of parts for late model cars. The employee said they specialize in cars 7 years and newer.

I was talking with a guy "Frank" very kind and gracious when I told him I got the wrong one. He sent me the correct mirror I took it to the shop and there was a crack in the mirror housing that appeared after painting prep. The shop where I took the car said I should use the mirror because of the crack so they repaired the mirror that was on the car originally. I told Frank we didn't need either mirror so he sent me a mailing label I shipped them back he credited my credit card! during the whole process Frank was totally helpful and easy to deal with. I'm going to write this review like Jesus would by pointing out two things they know how to do…read moreright. First, they know how to install remote starters well. Second, they are very friendly. However, the main issue I have with them is their lack of integrity. First, Carlos, the counter guy try's to sell me a remote starter that already comes with an alarm. He told me, "for an extra $20 bucks I could add an alarm system to go with your remote starter." Not knowing much about the Compustar Q9 package, I said, "okay, it sounds like a good deal." (Not to mention, he charged me an extra $100 for the drone module that probably already came with the $500 system.) But that's not what really bothered me. After using the alarm system for about four months, I finally had enough of the glitchy and annoying alarm. I don't think it was fully in sync with my Ford F150. So I came back and told them that I wanted the alarm removed. So, what did they do? They removed the entire $650 Compustar Q9 remote start system from my truck. Why...? ( I knew I should have been more specific with them.) So I told Luis, the manager, "you made a mistake. I only wanted the alarm removed, not my entire remote starting system." I paid $650 dollars for the remote starter. I didn't pay all that money for a cheap alarm. It was a big mistake. And when I told him this, he tried to deceive me into buying another remote starting system that doesn't come with an alarm already built in. He wanted to charge me another $250 bucks for something I didn't need. Not knowing much about Compustar systems, I asked ChatGPT for help. Thankfully, ChatGPT told me everything I needed to know. All I had to provide was two simple things. Ultimately, instead of just disabling the alarm and keeping the remote starter installed. (Which is what they should have done from the beginning.) Luis wanted to take advantage of my ignorance and rip me off an extra $250 bucks. It was a simple reprogramming issue that Luis refused to acknowledge. And tried very hard to make me believe there was no other way around it. I'm going to paste the exact ChatGPT reply, along with the text message I sent to Luis (the manager of J's Sound Shop) down below: I asked chat GPT about the issue I was having. And I asked if it was necessary to remove the whole remote start system from my F150. And based on the model number of the system and the model number of the bypass module, it was NOT necessary to take the whole thing off. You could have left the remote starter installed and just taken the alarm off. See the text below: (Chat GPT replied) I can clearly identify two modules: Compustar CM-900AS (the remote start controller) iDatalink Blade-AL (the bypass/data interface module) The Blade-AL plugs directly into the CM-900AS and allows the remote start to communicate with your 2018 Ford F-150's factory electronics, including the immobilizer and CAN bus. This is a very common, proper installation. What this means for your original question Based on this hardware, I do not see any reason the entire remote start system had to be removed just because you wanted the alarm removed.
