Robert is by far the most professional, skilled, efficient vehicle customization shops in the city of chicago. I have had the honor and privilege of being a client for quite some time and Robert went vice and beyond my expectations I highly recommend his services for quality work from a quality respected professional . 5 stars! read more

Band communication skills, they don't call back or answer the phone. All those reviews are probably family & friends. You're better off with All Guard! They install the right way and for a great price! read more

Robert is the epitome of customer service. I year after I bought a dash cam from him I was thinking I wanted a different one. Rather than just sell me a new dash cam he encouraged me to come to his shop so he could address my concerns. It turned out I really didn't know how to use some of the features and he took the time to show me. He saved me 400 dollars. He honest and sincerely takes pride in doing things the right way. read more

First of all Robert is a great guy, knows his stuff. Had a dash cam install yesterday. Service was excellent, price very reasonable and the job was perfect. all the wires were hidden. Robert took his time explaining everything he did. Went over the camera and answer all my questions, told me if I have any other questions feel free to call him. Shop is super clean, a little hard to find but well worth it. I'd give him 10 stars if I could. Very Highly recommend. read more

Robert is awesome! He replaced the stock audio system in my almost brand new BMW 330i with a full set of Audison speakers, subwoofers, amplifier, and added an additional sub in the trunk. The new system is incredible and sounds amazing. I watched Robert perform some of the work and It was apparent that he knew what he was doing and that the workmanship was quality. Robert also completed the work for approximately $3,000 less than a quote I received from a shop in Chicago. During the whole process, Robert was very professional and answered all of my questions almost immediately. read more

I had an issue with audio not playing through my bluetooth. They were able to quickly fix the problem and price was very reasonable. They could have taken advantage of the situation and say I need a new stereo as I was pretty desperate. But, they took care of the problem and I appreciate integrity. read more

I have a new used Audi A-4 and was unhappy with the quality of the stereo system. Robert explained the best way to adjust the existing car system to produce a much better sound. Then he took us in his shop and demonstrated different speakers and amplifiers to give us a quote. With his advice and adjustments we decided at this point to stay with the original factory stereo but felt confident that in the future we could upgrade with him to a much better system with not having the look of anything that would appear after market. I feel confident in recommending him to anyone who needs automotive stereo work. read more

When I contacted Car Audio & Security, I didn't know exactly what I needed. After a very patient back and forth over Yelp, Robert special ordered the product that I wanted and a compatible Maestro interface. Great, fast service. He was booked, but squeezed me in to install car speakers, ahead of our 1350 mile drive. Highly recommended!

I had Robert upgrade my factory speakers with 6 1/2'' Alpine S-S65's and put in an amp that I supplied and he didn't disappoint!!! Robert was very thorough in explaining what he did and I am very pleased with how my new system sounds. Thank you!!! read more

Have to admit I was a bit skeptical when I saw 55 reviews and still a 5 Star rating. I thought who can be that good? If I could I would give Robert 10 Stars plus a couple extra for good measure! Robert took on installing audio in my Mini Cooper S Convertible when even the dealer didn't want to take it on. To say I'm an ecstatic with the results would be an understatement. Robert far surpassed all my expectations and I would recommend him to anyone! read more

Long Beach Car Audio - Car Stereo Installation Near Me - Long Beach, California

Skeptical at first because the business is in his garage however it's is set up like a real business and Robert was really professional. He didn't over charge for a small repair done to my remote starter. Other place wanted to double the price just to reset my module. I recommend this place to all my friend and family. read more

To be honest, I'm very leery of letting anyone touch my car. I came to Robert's because of the reviews. A couple of months back, I made an appt and spoke with Robert in person. It is unusual that he works out of his garage but I'm still going by what I learned on reviews - 5 Stars. We agreed on a remote starter that fit my needs. I don't want to be looking for where in my building is a "good spot" to signal my car to start. Robert explained to me my options and once I decided (he's not pushy), I agreed to the price. He gave me a time window for the job to be completed. Bottom line, I could not be more happy with his service, knowledge and patience. It was a Win-Win for me and I'm very happy with my remote starter. Thank you Robert. read more

So this guy might have been a little too good at making me feel comfortable when I was looking for someone to install a remote starter in my ride. Courteous, professional, knowledgeable, you could tell he's been doing 12 volt work for years. After arranging the install at a great price through email, I stopped by his garage with my baby, chatted for a bit, watched him work for a minute, left him the keys, and took a bus to the nearest Starbucks. I knew Alicia would be in good hands. A little while later it hit me--I had just handed my baby, her keys, and $200 in new equipment over to a guy I just barely met off of Craigslist... for all I knew he was long gone, my beautiful black salt-covered ride getting dismantled in some chop shop, never to be seen again. I started freaking out, imagining the worst when he didn't text me back immediately. But he answered a phone call and updated me on his progress, which allowed my heart rate to slow to about 340. After getting kicked out of Starbuck's a few hours later, I dropped by his garage -- he was still finishing up the install, but at least my ride was still in one piece! Actually 4-5 pieces. Gotta remove kick plates and quarter panels to get to the wires for the install. I helped him out with the last few details of the remote starter installation while he taught me a thing or two about car electrical systems. It took a little longer than anticipated, but he was friendly and professional through it all. It's hard to put up with my OCD, and as anyone who knows me can tell you, especially when it comes to my car. He met my expectations. Have no fear when it comes to working with Robert. He charges a fair price and works hard to make sure everything works the first time around. Oh, and your car will be there waiting for you at the end too! read more

I bought a stereo receiver for a road trip so that I could listen to my iPod in the car without an FM transmitter (ew). I was fully prepared to install myself for the first time: I had obsessively watched YouTube videos and downloaded install guides, but I lost track of time and found myself two days before departure with a shitty CD deck. Worried I would $$$$ something up and leave my car out of commission, I found Robert after trolling Yelp for a last minute, reliable technician. Booked solid for the rest of the week, Robert straight-up offered to walk me through the install myself, or have me call him if I had any problems. This built up some kind of weird trust, and after begging him he fit me in the next day. Thanks to the strange massive trust I put into this guy I found on Yelp without a professional Web Site, I somehow agreed to meet him in a parking lot for the install. That said: Robert was kind, professional, ridiculously cheap and totally trust worthy. He used to be the trainer/head technician at Circuit City and really knows what he is doing. I've had the stereo installed for a few months now, and it was seriously one of the best purchases I've ever made. When I get new speakers, Robert will install them. Any time a friend even mentions a new car stereo, I jump at the opportunity to throw his name out there. If you're even kind of considering getting this kind of work done, stop looking around and give Robert a call. read more

When one of the components went out on the awful factory audio system on my BMW, I decided to replace EVERYTHING. I didn't want to go to a retailer/installer and buy only the brands they pushed; instead I researched and cherry-picked components to get the best sound quality for my budget. That's where Robert came in. As I was buying all the parts, he was very patient with me and made recommendations as to what would work well and what would not. His expertise in the field was extremely valuable when figuring out speaker loads, wattage, fit, sound dampening, etc. When I finally had everything, he got the whole system installed in one day (altho a very long day for him) so I would be without my car for only a day. Now the system sounds great! I would highly recommend Robert over a retailer/installer. He doesn't have to push any brand equipment. Instead he cares about sound quality, professional fit and finish, and his clients' needs. Thanks Robert for your professionalism, patience, and concern! read more

After Soundz Good tried to rip me off on the installation of a plug-and-play navigation lock bypass device for my Lexus SUV (Lexus won't let the driver or passenger use the navigation menu when the car is in motion, which is incredibly annoying), I did a Yelp search and found a ton of great reviews for Robert.. I called him at 9:30 in the morning and left him a message. 10 minutes later he returned my call. Much to my surprise, he had an opening for the same day. 15 minutes later, I drove to his garage and an hour later, my car was ready to go. The best thing about Robert is that he is a nice guy. He literally did the install while I entertained my 17-month-old son in the back seat. And his price was terrific -- literally 1/5th of what Soundz Good quoted me. The quality of his work is great, his professionalism was top notch and I suspect that his prices are among the best in the area. He is the exactly the kind of small businessperson that Yelpers should be patronizing. read more

Took my stepmother's Lexus to Robert to get an XM interface and auxiliary input installed on the factory stereo. Overall, a great experience for several reasons. First, he was much cheaper than the dealership's quote to install the same modules while still offering great service. (He honored his quote and beat his quoted time.) Second, he was great about quickly replying to phone calls and e-mails. Third, in these conversations, he was happy to offer advice about the best way to go. Most importantly, the installation was quick and clean and the (small) XM antenna is the only thing that doesn't look completely factory standard. Finally, when I told him that I was thinking of going the Crutchfield route for my own new car stereo and installing myself, he talked with me about it for a few minutes, reviewed some head units with me, and told me to be in touch with any questions I had--all for something I wouldn't be paying him for. All in all, he does great work for a better-than-fair price with friendly service that goes above and beyond. Sorry to gush but I was very impressed. Highly recommended! read more

My wife wanted a remote starter for Christmas but with another month to go in the Chicago cold, she wanted it now. I put out 5 quotes on Yelp. Most replied back a day later asking me to call them as they'd been in the business for 30+ years and blah blah blah. Just give me a damn price and get it to me quick. If I wanted to call you, I would have called. There's a quote section on Yelp for a reason. Can't figure how to properly use it? Then hire someone who can. So anyways Robert's Car Audio was the quickest to reply and he got right to the point, asking direct questions to get my quote to me fast instead of begging me to call him, like most who replied to my initial quote request. Having 40+ reviews with a 5-star rating and him being quickest and friendliest to reply made it a no-brainer to go with him. 48 hours later my wife has her remote starter installed with a full mile range, she loves it. Robert's price was extremely fair and any future referrals will go here, no doubt. Thanks Robert! read more

1 star for meeting up with me on literally 2 hours notice after I had already made an appointment later in the week. Another star for being professional and returning phone calls in a timely manner. Another star for his wealth of knowledge regarding stereo systems; he knew my model (both car and aftermarket stereo) and whether or not it would fit with the stock bezel within about five minutes of talking to him on the phone. Another stars for his swiftness. If it wasn't for the fact that I walked down to Church's for some jalapeno poppers, he'd have been done in less than forty minutes. Another star for the price. Don't know of anybody who could have done it cheaper. Definitely NOT Best Buy. Easily a worth five stars. Thanks again Robert! I'll be sending my friends your way. read more

I bought a remote starter off of ebay and was looking for someone to install it. I asked around and got some quotes off of craigslist and some stores and ended up trying Rob. I dropped my car off at his place and three-ish hours later, everything was installed and worked perfectly. He has a background in car installs and you could tell that he knows what he is doing. There are no wires anywhere and he had no issues. As an added touch, he even followed up to make sure everything was working okay and I needed anything else. I would definitely recommend anyone to him. read more

Robert does fantastic work, has great communication and stands by the work he performs. He was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions I had. I found Robert through Yelp and based on the excellent reviews decided to have him install a remote starter in my car. It was immediately obvious that he was a professional and knows what he is doing. He tests everything with a multimeter and solders all connections. He was incredibly fast and actually programmed features in my remote to tailor it to my needs. He had no problem with me sitting in the passenger seat while he worked, so I was able to watch the entire process and also learned a few things. He was very patient, and explained every step as he worked and answered all my questions. After he was done, he took some time to explain all the features to me and show me how it worked. Professional, fast, high-quality work, and cheaper than the larger retail shops. I highly recommend him. read more

Got two different car audio solutions installed by Robert and he did a great job for a very reasonable price in both cases. In this day and age we're all trying to save a little loot, and in my case, buying a new head unit from Crutchfield and having Robert install it saved me $50+ off what Best Buy would have charged. Robert installed an aftermarket Pioneer DEH-X6700BT am/fm cd audio receiver with bluetooth unit in both my BMW's. He works out of a heated garage behind his home. I feel that his pricing is reasonable compared to competitors, and his workmanship/service are outstanding. Robert was also very helpful in providing recommendations for purchasing this Pioneer bluetooth audio receiver unit and required cables for both vehicles. He emailed all the needed items to me so that I could easily order online. I highly recommend Robert for any car audio installation needs. read more

Sure, Robert is competent, professional, and inexpensive. Especially so, for that matter. I, though, consider those as prerequisites for a professional in a service-based industry. But here is why Robert is a total outlier-he possesses conviction and a sense of humanity in the way he conducts his business. Find THAT at Best Buy. I called for a simple quote on a simple stereo installation, and he spoke with me for close to thirty minutes with no commitment whatsoever to an appointment. His demeanor was low-key, warm, but totally confident. Not once did I feel like I was a) bothering him, or b) dealing with a hack. It was immediately apparent that he was incredibly experienced, and genuinely concerned with providing me with answers to my (presumably very rookie) questions. After realizing that I was in no way capable of doing the installation on my own, I set an appointment with him. His service was nothing less than thorough. He is exhaustively detail-oriented. I'm talking like setting-my-clock-in-perfect-sync-with-his-cell-phone-custom-tailoring-every-setting-on-my-deck detail-oriented. Did I mention he was ridiculously easy to work with and totally relatable and warm? Yeah, that too. So please, if you're considering going to a business that just wants to throw you and your concerns into a queue and then overcharge you to address them, just call Robert instead. He will not only give you world-class service, but he will do it while (somehow simultaneously) restoring your faith in humanity. read more

I wanted to write this review today, the same day I got my alarm/starter installed by Robert because I was so pleased by how well everything was done. This guy really knows what he's doing and you cannot go wrong by choosing him to work on your automotive electronic needs. First of all, today was the first measurable snowfall Chicago has gotten in months but that did not stop Robert from doing his thing. Unfortunately for Robert he is currently working outdoors and not in a heated garage but through the snow and cold, he kept cranking it out without any complaints. He is so professional that I was comfortable enough to leave my Subaru in his hands while I was nice and toasty at a near by coffee shop. Mind you I only met this guy like 5 minutes prior and I already didn't mind leaving my car with him. After checking back with him about an hour and a half in the installation I found him reading the poorly written manual from the alarm/starter unit I purchased online. It was clear he was having a frustrating time trying to match the mismatched wires from the unit I provided but he never got me worried that he would not be able to get it to work. He worked through the problems and eventually got everything working as it should. He definitely knows what he is doing considering I did not buy the most user friendly alarm/starter unit out there. (A little advise: Spend some money on your unit and maybe buy a more mainstream alarm/starter with nice clear diagrams just to avoid all the unnecessary troubleshooting that Robert has to do.) I would recommend Robert to anyone who wants a highly talented, professional, reasonably priced automotive electronic installer. Make: Subaru Model: Impreza Year: 1999 read more

Remote Starter Installation. I've searched high and low for THE Pro who: (1) Executes the installation with precision at the first try. No one wants to experience those "remote starter install gone bad" horror stories in Chicago winter. (2) Charges a reasonable price and up front about pricing components (no hidden fees..etc) (3) Gives honest recommendations based on the needs of the clients not on the needs to push for inventory turnover you would experience with some stores. I didn't know him prior to my Car's starter installation, but I sure am glad I found THE Pro--Robert. He demonstrated the level of precision I required. I called and texted him at least 10 times with ALL kinds of remote starter questions. Manufacture could have hired me to do Users Manual Q&A write up. What impressed me was the easiness about him (but NOT sleaziness. Major difference) which you can tell came from years of excellence at one's chosen profession. His price was on par with (if not lower than) competitors and honored his price quote. Do your research on devices, of course. But, at some point, do yourself a favor and stop driving yourself crazy in the remote-starter-lingo land. Run it by Robert. He will listen to your circumstances and will recommend a device that suits your need and budget. I now recommend him to all my friends who need the car wire work done. And his schedule gets busy, so, call ahead. p.s. yelpers, please relax. Robert likes to work with wires, not to rob your car! His eyes lighted up talking about working with wires like when I see a bakery. I know it's a big deal leaving your prized procession with a totally stranger, so, think of it this way: working with wires gives him a future cash flow, robbing your car just gives him a piece of depreciating asset. Plus, a pissed off yelper could stop that cash from flowing in. So, why would he rob your car then? Relax. Go to Robert. Your morning commute will be much less painful this winter. read more

I rarely write reviews but this one is well deserved. Robert is a great guy! I'm always hesitant finding a place to bring my car for any work because I know nothing about cars and feel that I'm going to be taken advantage of and overcharged. When I brought my car to Robert I could tell right away that I'd have none of those concerns. He is extremely trustworthy! He tells you exactly what he needs to do. You can tell that he genuinely loves what he does, which I feel is extremely important with any business owner.
