I found DPS randomly online, turned out to be a great experience. We went to get some audio components and side steps installed on our campervan. The customer service was really good. I initially emailed them to get info on the cost and timing, they consistently replied within a few hours and were very helpful. They got me in within the next few days. Their showroom is really organized and clean. I got a tour of the back garage area, which was way bigger than you'd expect from seeing the front of the building. They had a lot of high end cars getting work done, ranging from full vehicle wraps and audio installs. The work completed worked properly and was a very clean install. They left my vehicle very clean and gave me all the original packaging and instructions. I had a great experience with DPS and plan to bring other vehicles there when I need any work done. read more

I probably spent more time researching PPF and meeting installers than I did choosing my car. After having PPF and window tinting completed with DPS Automotive, I feel that work was justified, as I am completely thrilled with the results. I knew before ordering my Defender SUV that I wanted to have PPF applied. The Schaumburg LR dealership recommended DPS Automotive, and I immediately spoke with the owner, Tom, about the options, process, and costs. With considerable time before vehicle delivery, over several weeks I talked to four other PPF installers. Each had strong opinions on the quality of their work vs. their competitors and each encouraged me to visit their shop to see projects in process, in part to justify their pricing. At this point, I had not visited DPS. Because their pricing was the most aggressive, I began to believe some of the hype that the price would have a direct correlation to the quality of the final job. I'll add, with the proposals I was being sent, I had all but given up on the idea of doing full matte PPF coverage, and resigned that I would just have the front end protected. A few weeks before delivery, I finally visited DPS. While I had met four other installers, I had not yet chosen one. Tom put me in touch with Kelsey in Customer Support, who gave me a tour. Immediately, it was apparent that the DPS shop was the cleanest, most organized, and most professional looking of all I had seen - significantly so. While the others were fine, DPS stood above them considerably. Kelsey showed me a number of vehicles in different stages of various projects. During other visits, I had been shown some ways to evaluate a high quality PPF application vs. those that are less so. In taking a careful look at some key areas, what I saw at DPS was better than the work I saw elsewhere of which the other providers were extremely proud. Furthermore, Kelsey was so helpful (and patient) with all of my questions, both that day and in several follow-up emails, she made me completely comfortable in finally deciding to work with DPS. I once heard that in choosing any service, you will eventually forget what you paid for the work, you will forget how long it took, but you will never forget the quality of the job. That thought had me leaning towards other installers, who I'd begun to believe would be higher quality due to their higher costs. Once I visited DPS, the quality question was immediately put to bed. However, because DPS' pricing was still the most aggressive, not only was I able to get the full matte PPF coverage for the entire vehicle, I also added window tinting for the front windows to match the privacy glass of the rest of the car. Soon after dropping off my car, I received a call from Tom who wanted to clarify the job they were about to begin. He took me around the car via FaceTime, and I made a couple more choices from his recommendations. Despite the high quality I'd seen during my visit, I was still shocked at how incredible my car looked when I picked it up. It was easy to see where the matte PPF had been applied on the gray painted areas, and it looked fantastic. What I could not confirm right away was if the gloss PPF had been installed on the black trim areas. I first thought there may have been confusion in the order and those had been left out. There were no edges I could see, and the PPF was completely invisible. It was only after running my fingers along the back of the rear bumper that I could confirm the PPF was there, as I could feel the subtle film edge wrapped and hidden far back. It was not possible for me to have been any happier with the PPF work. It was beyond anything I had seen in other shops. I was so pleased, in fact, that I initially forgot to even notice the front window tinting that perfectly matched the factory privacy glass on the rear windows. When I went back into the office, Kelsey introduced me to Ish who had been the installer. He took me back out to the car to show me everything he had done. This only made me further appreciate the completed work, as areas where I would not have thought to look were pointed out and I could see how perfectly everything had been installed. There I also met the General Manager, Kevin, who graciously thanked me for the business and encouraged me to follow up if I encountered any issues at all. As someone who is notoriously difficult to please when it comes to any services, I can honestly say that my experience with DPS Automotive is one of the most satisfying I have ever had. From the quality of the work, the pricing of the project, and the interactions, help, and follow-through from Tom, Kelsey, Ish, and Kevin, every element of the experience was truly flawless and even beyond my highest expectations. I recently purchased a brand new Tesla Model 3 and wanted to protect the paint by installing Paint Protection Film (PPF). In this advanced day and age, when you even talk amongst your friends and family about certain products or services, your cell phone automatically picks it up and begins bombarding your social media feeds with ads/accounts for said products or services. I remember seeing my social media flooded with dozens of car detailing businesses. I filled out automated forms to receive quotes. Tom Waltzman of DPS Automotive was probably the only 1 out of 20 that actually responded to my return questions with an actual direct text (not a robot/auto-response). He expertly answered all my questions in an open and honest manner. He even invited me to his shop for additional consulting in case I had any doubts. I took him up on that offer and came away impressed. The shop was clean, organized and very professional. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I had a great feeling that if I decided to go with them, my car would be in good hands. They also happened to be running a summer pricing special so I was able to get full car PPF, full ceramic coating, and window tints all for decent discount compared to purchasing each item a la carte at its normal price. My car was in their shop for about 5 business days. They posted their progress on their instgram account and it was great to see those updates. When I picked up my car, it looked beautiful (we went with a satin/matte black PPF finish, 35% tint). They really went above and beyond to tuck in the PPF where they could and line it up seamlessly where they couldn't. I was very happy with the QUALITY of their work. In the Chicagoland area, there's probably dozens upon dozens of car detail shops that provide similar services. In my opinion, what sets DPS apart from all of the other shops is their attention to their clients and their attention to details (no pun intended) and it shows in the great quality of their work. He asked and answered questions and even brought in his installer to demonstrate his work as they were doing a Maserati at the time. I had the Truck undercoated then full PPF wrap don't in a Matte, It looks so great especially at night. They also took care of my windows, Cermic tint on the sides and windshield protection. After purchasing the truck of my dreams, I was anxious to start making her my own. I had a few things on my list but first I wanted to get paint protection film installed to protect against scratches. I called a auto detail place in Glenview but their pricing was outrageous. A friend told me about DPS so I passed by one day. The place is clean and organized. I spoke to Tom who gave me a very good price on what I wanted done; he even talked me out of applying the film on some areas, telling me to save my money. Most places try to oversell so they can make more money. Impressed by Tom's honesty I started mentioning other things I was planing for my truck; to my surprise, DPS did those things too. At the end, I was able to cross off nearly everything off my to-do list. 1. Applied paint protection film to the full front (bumper, grill, headlights, hood), front fenders, all fender flares, rear bumper, tailgate, door edges, and door handle cups. Afterwards they applied Ceramic Coating to the entire truck including the windows and wheels. 2. While looking at other cars being worked on, I noticed a Range Rover being wrapped. I loved the look and had them wrap my roof black. They even installed a decal on my sunroof that I had purchased and planned to do myself. I also had them tint the front windows to enhance the look. 3. I wanted a DashCam that also recorded when the truck was parked. He helped me pick one that also recorded out the back window and did a very clean install. 4. I had a radar detector on the windshield and asked if he cold mount and power it from the rear view mirror. He showed me a better radar/laser detector system that was that could be discreetly installed behind the bumper and provided much better protection. That too was installed very professionally. 5. Eventually I was planning on buying and installing a tonneau cover myself; at least before winter arrived. Of course they do that too and saved me the headache. I am very happy with the work performed at DPS. After all the part were in, I left my truck there a couple of days for the work to be done. I can't describe the smile on my face when I went to pick her up and saw the final product. I have had 4 cars worked on at DPS over the past couple of years. The work they do is outstanding. Attention to detail & Quality are admirable. Of even greater importance, is how they handle unexpected issues. When there was a glitch in communication for one vehicle, Tom the owner did not balk, argue or even question my concern. "We will take care of it" was his immediate response! It is easy to get great ratings when everyhthing goes smoothly. Handling issues or conflict can become a nightmare however, but the honesty & integrity of the ownership speaks volumes about who they are. Dealing with a local small business with customer driven core values is not so common anymore, but DPS rises to the task. I would highly recommend them for your prized vehicle as well. They worked on my 2 Corvettes, 1 Mercedes & 1 Genesis. All of them were done professionally & had great end results. In 2016, DPS Automotive installed an alarm system and remote starter on the Camry. They also treated the interior and exterior of the Camry so that it would be better protected against human accidents inside and natural elements outside. In seven years with the Camry I never experienced any issues with the exterior or the interior and both looked almost new when I traded in the Camry recently. I also was extremely impressed with the alarm system and the remote starter. I know these add-ons, installed with the quality professionalism that DPS Automotive provides, contributed to a higher resale value. My experience with the work DPS Automotive did on my 2016 Camry, led me to request similar products and services on my new Tacoma truck. I fully expect the same satisfying experience. DPS sub-contracted the work the Stickerdude in McHenry. I will admit Tom has been very apologetic and has held Stickerdude responsible. As they should be accountable. He has been in contact with the Service Manager at Liberty Chrysler to check up on the car. Stickerdude used an EXACTO KNIFE to cut the stripes and DESTROYED THE PAINT!! My earlier frustrations with DPS were only compounded with the continued aggravation and frustration from the sales/service experience with Napelton Dodge in Arlington Heights. Bad tint job. Where to start... Had to take my brand new car back for second time as there were about thirty dust bubbles in each window. Second time around was worse, but either they it the dealer also caused over a thousand dollars in damage to my car, DPS too credit for the for panel. They melted my vinyl or sanded it, jacked up window stripping, someone threw some keys on the roof or something like that, scratching it, gouged the fender, scuffed the trunk lid, left a puddle in my trunk, left quarter inch uneven gaps in windows, huge bubbles in rear window. Most of the damage could have been avoided with just a little bit of care. They blame someone else and the dealer blames them. Really regret ever working with these guys through the dealer, hate leaving a bad review but this job couldn't have been done or handled worse. Got work redone elsewhere and it is perfect. Edit: Did give them two extra stars for reaching out to try to see if there was anything they could do and I should be getting a refund and the removal fee covered. read more

I was referred here with a high recommendation for my malfunctioning Pursuit remote starter. I did not have an appointment and unfortunately they were booked for the day. They agreed to take a look at it but made no promises they would be able to repair it that day. After fifteen minutes, they brought it back working perfectly and on top of that, they said no charge! I was expecting to pay around $100 but they would not take my money. It was probably a very simple fix, but the fact that they were willing to take a look despite their busy schedule and their integrity and honesty in not charging me is someone I would want to do business with in the future. DPS was really helpful! I was impressed at how quickly they got back to me, and explained everything very thoroughly. They answered all of my questions, without making me feel like an idiot. The only thing that I wish they did was offer a rental car. It turned out to not be a big deal, because there's an Enterprise Rent-A-Car right around the corner, so I just had them pick me up and rented a car from them. It's now been about a month with my remote starter, and I couldn't be happier!! By the way, I recommend getting the two-way. I thought that I wouldn't need it, but now I'm so happy that I have it! When I'm sitting in my office and I want to start my car, I know that it started because the remote lights up as confirmation, which is very helpful! I have had issues with them ever since the remote starters were installed at a Toyota dealership. Each time the vehicle is serviced the remote starters do not work. I called ahead on a Monday to ask if they had precut window tints for my car, some guy Tom answered and said they do but will start cutting it once i arrive as it doesnt take that long to cut. I informed Tom that i will make an appearance the following Wednesday and he agreed. Well wednesday came, the drive there for me was 45 minutes of terrible traffic and Tom was not there to fulfill his end of the agreement. Additonally, the two girls there were clueless and seemed like were not given a heads up about my inquiry. The smaller girl was unenthusiastic and seemed like she didn't care for my business. The only reason this got a 2 star was because the other girl was somewhat helpful. Tom was a no show. Would not recommend. Terrible customer service. read more

Having worked for this company in the past I can tell you that you'd be hard pressed to find another like it. There's no corners being cut and you're not getting used or refurbished product...that was something I really respected about Tom. There were no crimp connecters, there was no strip, wrap and tape. EVERYTHING was soldered which is a level of professionalism in itself. While they used to cater mostly to dealers it looks like they're still growing and I can only assume it's still in the right direction knowing Tom. Don't let an angry reviewer turn you away from this company. If you happen to have a bad experience I'd put my money on the fact that you're going through a dealer and not DPS. Car dealers will tell you ANYTHING including play the blame game so they don't look like idiots. read more
