First time coming here, so I'll highlight the good things first and then I'll get into the nitty-gritty: + Open on a Sunday! + Waiting seating is spacious. + Pedicure seating is spacious. + Staff is nice. + Pedicure service wasn't the best, but it was okay. The takeaways for me: - $35 for a regular pedicure (not Gel) is RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED!! I don't care if you're in Kendall! - You're not even using toe separators, but instead... papertowel. - You're not even checking for ingrown toenails! ** At least she asked before using the cheese grater without permission! So after the appointment I had with my regular nail got compromised, I found myself looking for a nail place ASAP as I had an party to attend to in the early evening. While driving home and looking for nail places I went on yelp and found this one. I walked in and I hear someone from the back yell out "pick a color" so being my first time there, I saw boxes of nail polish on display on the walls so I proceeded to go there and "pick my color " well, a man comes toward me, after I had been looking at polished for a good minute, and says "mami, not there, pick from swatches. I was completely embarrassed so I went to sit down and go through the swatches. It was an embarrassing moment. So, I suggest that for new clients the establishment explains the process from the get go, Other than that there service was good, I had a regular mani and pedi, it was quick and overall candy the nail tech did a good job. I went in an hour ago and there was one tech sitting on the sofa with nothing to do. I told him i was there for a mani /pedi and he said ok. He proceeded to sit there in front of me for another 30 minutes so i figured he was on break and then he stood and just walked in the back. Then a new client walked in the door and he immediately came to the front and after talking something to Mary the owner he took her instead of me. The girl looked confused and asked him if he meant her. He said yes. I then told the owner that i was there first and she lied and said the girl had an appointment, which she clearly didn't otherwise she would not have been confused when he called her. This has happened to me there before and i had not been there since but i figured i would try again and again the same thing happened. I don't understand why they do this, it is very unprofessional and rude. I will never ever try again - lesson learned. read more

The initial wait wasn't bad, but once my girlfriends nails were soaking for "5 minutes", 45 minutes later and she's still waiting. I literally watched the store go from empty to filled with other customers walking right in and being serviced. This is NOT a way to earn customer loyalty. Make an imaginary appointment if you want service, I guess. Will DEFINITELY not return here. One person said that they had an appointment, and everyone else in the salon came after us. Came to A-plus nails for a Gel manicure on Sunday around 11 am. I waited for one whole hour. They called someone who came after me and then they had to tell her to sit back down because I was next. To soak off my gel polish they used "used" cotton balls. I was so grossed out and I immediately told him if they were used. He didn't answer me at first he just moved me over and took off the clips with the used cotton balls and brought me a bowl with acetone so I soaked my fingers in there instead. I felt so disgusted. I wonder how many people used those cotton balls. I hope they didn't have fungus. The guy who ended up doing my nails was actually very good and did a beautiful job on my French gel manicure. Unfortunately, I will not be returning due to a lack of hygiene. read more

Terrible experience today. My usual tech (David) was busy, so did a walk in and ended up with woman who sits near drying station. She was very rough when pushing back cuticles, cutting, not a pleasant experience at all. Mid pedicure she got up to help someone in the wax room, without no explanation or heads up. End result was not good. Cuticles not cut the right way, paint begun chipping just a couple of hours after manicure. There was still red nail polish in surrounding nail area. The only positive thing about today, was the realization that they purchased new pedicure chairs. I will return, but *ONLY* when David is available. read more

This is my second time in the salon. The first time I got many and pedy and was fantastic. I decided to come back to have the full set of acrylic nails done; WORSE MISTAKE EVER... my nails hurt so bad I can't even sleep. The lady that did my nails was nice and everything but I saw how she filled each fingernail soooo much that it's even hard for me to type this is. I love coming here for gel manicure and pedicure, it's $45 for both and comes with a nice massage. Ask for Jackie or Ivan, they are the best! If this is for either of them, I would give them a 5 star but since I came once and a lady with glasses helped me when Jackie couldn't, she was not great, I wanted black nail polish on and specifically asked her to make sure you fill my entire nail like Jackie always does, and she left all the sides. She had to take it off and redo them, and it still didn't come out right. I would highly recommend Ivan or Jackie, they really know attention to detail and take great care of me and my mom. They have a million choices for gel colors which is a huge plus considering many nail salons have switched to SNS and hardly carry enough gel shellac colors. read more

Honestly I have barely anything good to say. I started going to this salon because I wanted to see a place that did acrylics well. First time I went to the salon the nails were good. However the wait was excruciatingly long. I had called ahead and asked if they had any space available and the gentleman said yes come now. I went and it was packed so I realized they always say yes to going no matter the wait. Second time I went the girl started doing my toe nails, halfway through the toe nails she says to get up for a second and sits someone else and starts doing them. I ask if she's going to continue mine because we weren't done and she said she would but I ended up waiting 1 hour for her to actually continue with me. Third time I went a different lady did my nails but she ended up filing my hands so fast and hard she kept slicing my skin open with the nail file. Today was my last try to see if it was a good place or not. First off they did not do any massage for my feet. She just soaked and went straight to painting. So when It was time for an acrylic MANICURE (a regular manicure they said includes nail failing and cutting of the cuticle). I assume and ACRYLIC MANICURE includes the basics of a manicure plus acrylics. I ask the lady to cut my cuticles and she says it's $5 more. I said why if I regular manicure includes the cutting so an acrylic should include it plus the acrylic. She said it doesn't work that way. So I ask if I can have one nail painted with a matte coat to see if I do all of them matte and she says it's another $5. Then I ask to file the sides of nail since they're fat. She said I was requesting coffin nails and therefore it is $5 more. WTF. THEN I say that she isn't painting the full nail and it makes it look like the nail is already grown out and she just stares and me and doesn't fix it. When I went to go pay and they asked for tip I said no. She asked me why aren't you leaving tip. And I tell her on the menu it doesn't state the extra charges she wanted to charge me and she legit tells me "Everyone who comes here knows the prices by memory. I don't need to post anything I charge." I said "I'm sorry I am not a part of your psychic club but I refuse to pay for something that isn't clearly stated" She proceeded to scream in Chinese and English saying "You think you get free nails here!!! It's a business!!!" I laughed and walked away. read more

I've been coming to David at A+ Nail for over 5 years. He is so careful & really digs into cut cuticles, scrub the dead skin & get those ingrown toe nails !! He is gentle yet gets the job done. I always get complimented on my nails (I do regular manicure or gel manicure depending on the occasion). By the way I always bring my polish but they have plenty! Is the nail salon the best in Miami? No but it's clean & 3 minutes from my house & David will open up @7am if you need it!
