So 1. I want to rate this store for just the service it provided. I had just gotten a new dog at the animal shelter and though he is incredibly well behaved and personable, the urban environment has been slightly over stimulating to my boy, Triumph. I walked in on a Saturday, and the woman working was very friendly and took a liking to my dog immediately. I got a couple of things and came back on Sunday to get a new harness. The nice two women who were there helped find a much better harness that fit. One of them was determined to get him sized up since that can be a challenge. We found one and we left happily. Until... (This is the second reason for my high rating) 2. it was a Sunday afternoon and chaos was ensuing with people at King Soopers and my iPhone fell out of my pocket outside the store. Both of the women working helped me locate it which took a while. I was able to eventually locate it and then breathe a sigh of relief. It was my problem and they didn't have to help me but they did. I always buy my dogs' food from this place. They have a great selection of high quality products. The owners are really friendly and always provide great service, like their pet food delivery. I was out of dog food and in a bind because my car was in the shop for the weekend - Pet's Paradise came that same day and saved me a lot of hassle. read more

This place is one of those neighborhood gems that makes people stay in the neighborhood. I adore the staff, especially Laura, who is as knowledgeable as she is friendly. I avoid the huge chains at all costs if I can, but they also don't carry the kind of quality products that A Pet's Paradise carries. They are also incredibly accommodating if you want them to order something. I have a chiweenie with no sense of humor who hates everything and everyone and he LOVES everything I buy there. Dudley won't let me shop anywhere else. I'm actually not kidding. I don't work for the store (I promise) I just really, really love these people and the way they do business and, selfishly, I want them to stay in business for years to come...so I genuflect a little in this review in the hopes that you'll stop in to see what all the fuss is about. Now - just to point something out about the reviews about this place on Yelp: Ashley P says that the staff is totally disinterested...and Andi S says that they are on her like white on rice a la "used car salesmen"... hmmm....which one is it? Sounds like Downer Debbie and Negative Nancy didn't happen to go on a day where Karen (one of the owners) or Laura was working. I stopped by A Pet's Paradise to grab a bag of dog food, and I brought along my uber-shy dog. As soon as we entered the store, a staff member greeted us and when I stated that my dog is shy, she immediately kneeled down, avoided eye contact and offered my pup a dehydrated lamb lung, which apparently is a dog delicacy. Having a shy dog can sometimes be very overwhelming, and it is so refreshing to visit an establishment that not only respects your dog's boundaries, but also patiently offers treats in an informed way, which only helps my pup get more confident! The staff member asked a few questions about my dog's history and her anxiety, and then recommended several different products that may assist my pup. I left with a ton of knowledge, and it was awesome to see the staff give me and my dog so much individual attention. Yeah, a bag of food is a tad pricey, and yes, I could order it on Amazon and have it delivered to my door, but will Amazon feed my pup free treats while informing me about products specific to my needs? I've been shopping at A Pets Paradise since they opened. I was visiting a friend in Capitol Hill and we went in to check it out and as they say the rest is history, I now drive all the way from Arvada. It's so worth it! Here's why I like A Pets Paradise so much; The staff is very informed and educated on all the products in the store including the food, treats, tinctures, supplements, bedding, and toys! They are very helpful and willing to help you decide what is best for your pets needs/conditions. If you go on Sat. the owner is in and she is amazing! She has been so helpful. My dog had a condition from the day I rescued her. The owner explained why healthy food made a difference, recommended food and a specific supplement. When I took my dog to her standing 8 week appt to have tests done the Vet called and asked what had I done, that her labs were normal for the first time ever! When I explained I stopped using the prescription food and medication she prescribed and gave her healthy food and a supplement she couldn't believe it made a difference but still she couldn't explain the normal test results. After taking my dog back again 8 weeks later and her labs continued to stay normal she had to concede it was the healthy food and supplement. I also have found the staff to be friendly every time I have been there! Im always greeted when I walk in and staff that has been there for years actually call me by my name, now that's not something you're going to experience at other places! They don't have a large turnover in staff either, they seem to retain the core group which shows me they must have good management and pay a decent wage. They always carry my big bags of food out to my car for me, another thing I've never had done or even offered at any other place. They carry everything you can ever want or need for your pet. They have luscious beds, they are not the cheap beds that have little to no padding that is gone within the first week, the beds at A Pets Paradise have such thich padding and stay that way even after washing many times, the ones I've had for 8 years look and feel like they did when I bought them! Well worth the price! The toys are different than the same ol' same ol' they have at the well known chain stores. My friends pets wouldn't play with toys they got a chain store but loved the toys from A Pets Paradise. They have fresh, healthy treats, and a large variety of them if your pet doesn't like one they'll help you until you find one they do like. The tinctures and supplements are also fresh and they carry such a wide variety. They have them for all different kinds of issues from health problems to physiological issues and they work! I personally have bought and used ALL of the things I have written about and have NEVER been disappointed with anything I've bought there! Very friendly and knowledgable about different types of food and diets for cats. Went in with some questions about my kitten who has stomach issues and they gave me a ton of advice and some free samples of food that I should try with her. I will definitely go back and always buy food and other supplies from them. Super helpful and kind! read more

I go here for dog food - they happen to have a couple brands of frozen food that I like and they will special order particular flavors or sizes for me. Nice people, some are pretty knowledgeable about nutrition and always very helpful. read more
