Today I managed to lock myself and two children out of home for the first time. The two spare keys I had were in places too far away to get to me. I called around to a few places and the first place didn't have anyone available for today and the second place was going to cost me $95 plus additional costs for mileage. A friend of mine who has one of my spares started making calls for me. She let me know she had gotten in contact with A-Max Security and said that someone would be able to get to me in 45 minutes and it was a flat rate. I was surprised when I received a call a few minutes later telling me that he (Shane Anderson) would be at my house in 25-30 minutes. No more than 25 minutes as I was walking back to my house, Shane called to tell me he was at my house. I truly appreciate the calls letting me know the time frame and that he was there. My two girls were at the neighbors house staying out of the sun, as we had already been out in the sun waiting and trying to figure out what to do for a few hours. Knowing a timeframe was helpful to know how much longer I could keep my kids out of the sun and the call that he was there so that I could run over and make sure we got into the house before dragging my kids with me. Shane was extremely pleasant and very patient. I didn't feel judged for locking myself out of the house and when he couldn't get the front door immediately (which wasn't the issue) he had no probably unlocking the garage door (which was the probably). He explained the type of lock thats on the front door that makes it a little trickier. I was actually happy that he went through the garage door. I didn't know that a garage has a lock on it and when I tried to manually open the garage (as my opener wasn't working), I pulled on what I thought was the handle but the handle turned and locked the vault on the garage door. Having Shane help me get back into my house this way was so much more helpful because I thought after he left I would still have to figure out how to unlock the door. I enjoyed the question he asked to verify if that house we had just gotten into was my house. He was so pleasant to talk to and made this whole day so much better. I couldn't be happier with the service I received and Shane deserves some Kudos. He is a great guy! Definitely recommend this company to anyone who ever manages to lock themselves out of their house. read more

Note: I posted the exact same review on Google - hate to duplicate, but I want to be sure that what I stated gets out to the readers. These guys know their stuff. I ordered two GM remotes because my old one just stopped working for no reason. One of the remotes they got in didn't work, so after some investigation, the main guy that works there figured it out. I forgot his name unfortunately. Not only that, he didn't charge me the extra it costed for the OEM remote, and he got the old one working again. So now I have three remotes total (had a newer one as well as the original before I started all this) and I only was charged for one regular new one. I got more than I wanted, and they charged me cost and ate the difference for their mistake (which was actually a shipping mistake) and my hassle. So my Friend locked my keys in the trunk of my BMW. As some of you know, BMW is known for their very tight security. I must have called 20 different lock smiths and all but 2 said they don't touch BMW. Then I wasted $350+ on the other two, neither of which could get into the trunk. My car sat in the parking lot of a Carl's junior for two days until finally Kuni BMW referred me to these guys saying thy were the only ones who could do it. Sure enough they came in a timely order and made me a key to open the trunk on the spot in less than 15 minutes AND they charge less than the other two guys who couldn't do anything for me(that includes the price of the key!) I will never go through another company again for any lock smithing needs, these guys were real life savers when no one else could do it. read more

Wow! Losing a remote key to a VW Beetle is complicated. Dick Hannah VW in Portland was not much help or knowledgeable unless I wanted to use their mechanics to ONLY program new key to car. Got referred to A-Max Security from about the 3rd locksmith I contacted and what a great referral. It got handled that day, no appointment, done in around 15-20; including cutting my key FOb I bought on line (even though it turns out they have them there) and reprogramming the rest of my keys. Got my education in how the remote works and the computer chip inside the fob and spare key that talks to the antenna ring around the ignition area. Big plus their charge was $81.95 total, dealership wanted $140 just to reprogram. Definitely would use and refer them many times over. Thanks so much! read more

We were traveling through Portland when we decided to get a bite to eat. As I got out of my car and closed the door, the door hit my hand and knocked the keys right out of my hand, and right into the storm drain I parked above. I was sick. We walked into the diner and sat down to order and decide what I was gonna do about keys. As I was telling the waitress what happened, someone from another table suggested I call A-Max. After all, the dealership was closed by now. I called them and they said they would be right out. They got there, made the key and were done as I had taken the last bite of pie after dinner. Seriously Shane saved the day! My dumb bum locked myself outside in the snow with my puppy, so of course I was in a huge hurry to get inside and get her warm. I called and was told someone would be to me within the hour, and Shane was there less than 20 minutes later. He was so kind and my pup loved him! Changed my doorknob (I destroyed it before I decided calling a locksmith was the best idea) and even had to make an extra trip back to his shop for a special part because my door is so old. He didn't charge me for the extra trip or for the labor! Seriously A+ service. 5 new keys, a new doorknob and all for the price I was quoted on the phone. Shane Anderson was truly a life-saver! A few weeks ago I accidentally locked my 2 month old in the car in the Walgreens parking lot! I was hysterical and the police told me "legally, there's nothing we can do because he's not in immediate danger"...Shane arrived within minutes and quickly unlocked the doors while helping calm me down and assuring me that "it happens all the time, don't be too hard on yourself". My partner's key sheared off in his ignition and we had no spares. I arrived in my car and we drove around the area looking for an open locksmith to no avail. These guys are incredible !! My 2005 chrysler 300 went into total lock down couldn't start it couldn't roll windows up or down ,the pcm unit went haywire had another locksmith come out to fix first ,what a joke! A-MAX saved my weekend! Came home from work Friday night to find the bathroom door, to my one and only bathroom, was locked from the inside. I tried to get the handle to budge to no avail. A-MAX showed up soon after I placed a call for service. I found out not only was the door locked, but the handle was broken! Not to worry - the door was open again before I knew it. First off, the customer service to schedule an appointment and to answer an invoice question I had after the work was done, was great. Shane was the technician sent to my house and he showed up within the first 30 minutes of the 2 hour time window so no long wait. I contacted this company this morning. My call was answered prior to open hours and service was great from the start. A locksmith, Mark, showed up earlier than expected and he was so knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. I got locked out and called a company that was not A-MAX. After over an hour waiting, and another hour of trying to get in my apartment, the guy wasn't able to help and suggested a few other places. We needed to get in a locked car and they gave us a reasonable 45 minute wait time (unlike other services where they give you a 2 hour window to wait by the car.)
