85 inch TV install Big shout out to Kennedy in the office for getting my TV install scheduled lightning quick. Issac and Mario were the techs that did the install. They were on time, professional, courteous, and super knowledge about how to tackle the project. What impressed me the most was the way they planned and executed the installation. The wiring was not normal for the wall but they came up with a great solution and plan for installation. I ordered the wrong mount and they quickly sprung into action and got a mount that worked. Terrible management at this place -- Isaac and Eric were supposed to show up and never did for the appointment that we'd set for them to come do an assessment. Their system sent us an auto-reminder 30 minutes before the appointment that we'd set ... and then nobody ever showed up. We had to call the company, leave a voicemail, get a giggling call back from Isaac who stumbled around explaining how a technician was out and didn't Eric call us? No, we said. Isaac then said he had to call Eric and ask about "this situation" and he'd call back. Didn't call back. We called him back and he muttered on and on about how a technician was out and whatever. This is for a rural community building which we had to DRIVE 20 miles (one way) to in order to meet them. Not cool at all -- if they're this sloppy and careless with potential customers' time then it's hard to imagine what kind of shoddy work they do for actual customers. read more

century link is by far the most awful company I've ever had to deal with. they have set THREE appts with me to get my internet going after I moved one block and they never showed up for any of them. no calls nothing. I've had to type miles and miles of chats because they don't answer their phones. days later I still have no internet and now this is Thurs and they are asking me to wait till Monday for another appt that will probably be another no show! I have an online store and I can't even print labels to ship orders that have been paid for. my five star rating is endangered and they don't give a hoot. they just give me one robot after another that all promise they will fix the issue but they never do anything. they are costing me hundreds of dollars at this point.I wish I'd never heard of them. They might be ok as long as you don't have a service problem but if you need help you can't get any no matter what you do. It's been a nightmare! read more

I called Ace Pro to have my recently purchased house wired for ethernet. There was a half finished network panel in the garage (which has a concrete floor) and phone ports everywhere I wanted ethernet ports, except for the living room which just had coax. Eric met with me quickly to plan the project. After a couple ideas that involved exterior modifications he settled one that went through the crawlspace by wrapping around one interior wall on the garage. Eric correctly guessed, without removing any panels, that the phone lines were actually ethernet wired with phone ports (who the HELL installes ethernet and then DOWNGRADES the port to voice) and could be converted by just rewiring them at the panel. 3 bedrooms were converted this way. Having talked to 3 other companies beforehand I had a number in mind for the work. Eric quoted me 33% less than the next lowest bidder. His team was able to drill into the crawlspace and back up into the living room **without putting any new holes into any of the walls**. The coax port in the living room was modified to output 2 ethernet ports on the same panel. The cables in the garage are invisibly stowed behind trim. The only cosmetic changes to the entire house are the 4 outlet panels that were already there, but are now ethernet. The whole job took 4 hours, and his crew cleaned up nicely when they were finished, even cleaning up some drywall dust I had left from other work the day before. The crew was friendly and answered all my questions about the work. I paid upfront and was not charged more afterwards, even though a little extra work went into the job. I was not billed extra for additional parts. I highly recommend Ace Pro Services, and would definitely use them again. read more

We purchased our home in Salem recently. Selection of a contractor to evaluate, and update our home security system as necessary was extremely important to me. I considered friends recommendations, unbiased reviews found on sites like this, and did my own research to arrive at an understanding of what was possible, what was needed, and what was affordable. I selected Ace Pro Services because they had a very good grasp of what was possible, needed, affordable, and came highly recommended. I worked with Eric during the evaluation, bid and initial contracting phase. I found him to be knowledgeable, responsive, flexible, and perhaps most important, honest. Ace was able to procure the hardware needed in a very short time. This surprised me, as supply chain bottlenecks for items such as these are a common occurrence these days. Installation of my new system was completed by Gregg, Freddie, Eric , Austin & Dave. They worked around our schedule, we're competent, professional, and definitely went the extra mile to ensure that our system met my expectations, and our contract. Unless you thoroughly understand how these things work, and are savvy enough to take care of dailing it in, the fine-tuning that needs to be done yourself, you will appreciate Ace's post installation support. We contacted Ace Pro in order to add Ethernet to our house and move our router. Originally we did the "request a quote" button on yelp. We did it a second time and missed a call from Ace Pro. We finally connected over the phone. I would suggest just calling them to make the process simpler. Ace Pro took a look at the house on Tuesday to provide us a quote and came on Friday to install. Such a fast turnaround! Justin and Derek were our techs. They were very respectful and kind. We appreciated their communication regarding how the install was going. The install was intended to be 2 - 3 hours but it ended up being much more complicated than originally thought. This is because the previous home owner jerry-rigged the cable. The install took about 5 - 6 hours total. Our walls were an issue as well because of the studs. The techs had to work around the issues by cutting holes in the walls. They patched over them beautifully afterward so we just need to paint over. The techs hooked our electronics back up when they were done and left extra patch cables for us. They did a fantastic job and we are really pleased with the results! read more

Eric and his team (our techs were Joe and Josh) were friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient when they came out to quote and wire a few rooms in our house for Ethernet. Our house was built in 1905 and comes with a few warts and surprises not found in modern constructions (including thick lathe and plaster walls and DIY-ed cabling that doesn't lead anywhere...), but Joe and Josh competently navigated hiccups and got Ethernet ports installed in just a few hours. We pay for internet speeds up to 940Mbps via CenturyLink, but we only get around 200Mbps over wireless; now that we can hardwire, we are able to get closer to 900Mbps! We will definitely be looking to Ace Pro Services for any future networking, security, or A/V needs. read more

I am one dissatisfied customer out of many positive reviews, so clearly my review is inconsistent with this company's track record; however, review sites only work to help consumers and businesses alike when all types of experiences are shared, so here's my experience. I started by searching on Yelp for a highly rated company. Ace has so many excellent reviews that I didn't request a bunch of quotes - I was sure this was the right choice. In hindsight, from our first exchange, I should have recognized that I was unhappy with the lack of response and constantly needing to follow up. The first response was a request for a phone number, which I provided. I waited two days before responding that I hadn't received a call, received a response that Gregg would call me that day, and finally received a call after the weekend...so initial response took 5 or 6 days just for a quote. I finally talked to Gregg, we talked about the complexities of my particular property (being rural), and he said he needed to investigate options most especially for my internet service since I needed to be able to work from home. It was reiterated to me over and over again how complex my job would be, though no one could give me any numbers. I felt anxious often in the days prior to the implementation because I didn't have a quote and I wasn't receiving any final information, but I had a lot of trust for this company based on others' great reviews. I didn't receive a quote until the day of the install, the quote was for almost $2000 just to run wire to five ports - in fairness, my house is 4000 sq ft and had never had cable wires run - and that didn't include the startup costs for new Dish service, CenturyLink internet, and HughesNet internet. They also waited until the last minute to set up the Internet installations, they ran one of the five ports specifically for the HughesNet, and they ran it to the wrong location, so I had to move my office from my original desired location to the room where they mistakenly ran the port. On Saturday, as I was waiting for the HughesNet installer - he was an hour late - I reached out to Eric to find out what was going on, and I was told the installer had to cancel. I told him that I would have appreciated being called rather than having to reach out to get this information. Come to find out the following week, HughesNet couldn't be installed. So one of the ports, the one that was run to the wrong room, wasn't even necessary; they would have known had they planned better and not waited until the last minute to schedule and finalize the install. When I received my bill, I argued that I shouldn't have to pay the $300 for that port since they should have known in advance that it couldn't be used - the response was a $100 discount. Finally, CenturyLink was supposed to be on beginning Thursday, it didn't work for five days and took a lot of me following up to get it taken care of. I never felt as if they were proactive - I always felt like I had to follow up to get any information. My complicated install didn't appear to be so complicated after all; my internet needs have been met with the CenturyLink DSL, and I'm able to work from home without the expensive HughesNet install Ace thought I would need. I was very honest with Eric that I was disappointed, I explained that I felt like their communication left a lot to be desired, and that I believe I would have saved myself a lot of money had I gone to Dish and CenturyLink directly. I will not be recommending them based on my own experiences. read more

I didn't totally want to write a review but after almost a year I felt the need to. Hired them for a dismount and remount of TV's and some audio from our sold home to newly purchased home. They showed up late, talked a lot and ran the clock, under quoted, constantly tried to up sell everything when clearly we weren't wanting to buy anything else, wiring job wasn't done properly and they had to come back, was given a wrong time frame on the phone for the original pick up, wires were left hanging/half stuffed behind the mounted TV in the living room.. when finally given the bill.. it was way over what was the original quote. I get we got some extra cables etc, but they couldn't deliver the TV the same day for us, so charged us for storage over the weekend and delivery to the new house. I told them we had hired movers and would gladly transfer the TV's ourselves if they just took them down, they insisted, then charged us for it. When I had an issue with the total price because it was WAY off, Eric gave a small discount, but proceeded to just tell me whenever we need audio and tv equipment because ours is outdated etc etc, we can put it on our credit card and give them a call. It's not about money, it was about the approach, lack of honesty, communication and all over tackiness of how it was handled. I wouldn't recommend them and I will not use them. Which is unfortunate because I want to support small local business'.. however, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth, and after this long it still bothers me how it was all handled. I think they need more techs, keep it more professional, Eric needs to lay off the up sell and stick to a schedule and proper quote. My husband and I are both in a consumer sales/service industry. We use Comcast for our cable and internet. We are not happy with the service or the product, so we contacted Ace to see if there were other options. Eric called my husband and spoke with him for about 15-20 minutes. He was so helpful and knowledgeable! Although we didn't have any other options in our area, he discussed our set-up and recommended a new router. We purchased one based on his recommendation and now see MUCH faster internet speeds.
