I was having an issue with one of my sensors and when I called the owners, Rick and Tammy are always so easy to reach and pleasant to work with. Part of the problem was solved, but what they did is send out one of their technicians and his name is Jarrod and he did a great great job. We bought a new house with a Honeywell alarm system and wanted to get information on it. We checked the Honeywell homepage and they listed 2 dealers. We called the support for the first one and got someone overseas who said they could not help us. I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Security First Alarm. My family was in the middle of relocating to the Beaverton area from another state. We knew that one of the first things we wanted when we purchased a home was a security system and monitoring service. This was especially important to us because we knew that we'd be traveling back and forth to our old state fairly regularly to slowly get things moved to Oregon, thus leaving the house vacant on occasion for days at time in the very beginning. It also meant that I was initially trying to coordinate with a security company remotely. Well let me tell you - the first company I called was Security First Alarm, and Tami was so wonderful in getting all of my questions answers, going through options with me, and explaining next steps, that I knew I didn't have to call anyone else or shop around. In addition, Kristen - who I worked with for most of the coordination - was also so nice, thorough, and accommodating. And believe me - we didn't make things easy. We had scheduled a time for them to come out, but due to some delays with getting the keys to our new home, we had to play it by ear on that last day, and Kristen kept her team on standby to try to accommodate our needs. Unfortunately, it was too late into the afternoon on a Friday to complete the install on our regularly scheduled day. So what does Kristen, Tami, and the Security First Alarm team do? They offer to come out on a Saturday (the very next day) in the morning to do our install for us! That entire experience solidifies that we made the right choice. If you want top-notch customer service; friendly, thoughtful, and caring service; and top-of-the-line security equipment and monitoring, then look no further. I've now had service with Security First for three years and am very happy with the company. The technician who installed my system was punctual, informative, and very friendly. She walked me through the installation, explaining each part. The installation was pretty quick and efficient and I appreciated not having to wait around all day for a late technician and that they don't have a super long service window (I'm looking at YOU Comcast). The system itself is unobtrusive, attractive (important to me as this is my home) and easy to use. I've had no problem explaining it to my babysitter or friends who needed to access my house. Their customer service is on point and I have always been treated kindly from every member of their staff, including the billing department when dealing with a snafu (on my end) a few years ago. I had an appointment with Tami for 10 a.m. today. It's 10:30 and she hasn't shown up or called. Might be an awesome company-I'll never know. It is bizarre that Jordan is claiming that Tami missed my appointment because she had an accident, because I got a call about half an hour after my review posted. I believe the woman who called me was named Dawn. She said she did all the scheduling for the company and that Tami must have set the appointment herself and not told her. I don't really understand why this response was posted so long after my initial review. As far as I am concerned, it's water under the bridge and I have moved on to give my business to another company. Security First did a great job of setting up a complete system for our home with doorbell camera, ultra-slick Lyric Honeywell panel with LCD display and lots of features, fire / CO2 detectors, etc. They were on-site to install within a day of us finalizing the contract, and they prioritized our install knowing that we were on a tight schedule. Rick was great at explaining all of the options for monitoring and equipment upfront, Sam did an awesome job on setting up all the equipment, and Tami stopped by during the install to make sure we were in good shape. I just had a nightmare experience with our home alarm system. It started "chirping" in the middle of the night. I pushed a button...reset??? and it stopped. Began chirping again this afternoon...pushed a button--can't remember which one and all of a sudden the alarm is going off. Of course, we had this system installed 10 years ago and we have no idea what the master code is!! I could not get it to stop. Called Security First Alarm and spoke with Rick. He stayed on the phone with me and talked me through how to disarm the system. I am forever in his debt!! We even added home automation for out deadbolt and living room light. We are happy to have a secure home that will keep our toddler to be inside and intruders outside. I've been very happy with all services from my first phone call to the install to the service I received when making periodic phone calls to ensure I'm doing something the right (or wrong) way. While in the test phase we've accidentally set off our new alarm and the call center is prompt and to the point while staying professional and concerned with our safety. Everything went well from the initial call to the installation person arriving. The installation person was very patient with my anxieties about setting off an alarm by accident and went over the process of turning it off and on several times. The only thing I didn't care for was when he drilled into the door frame after we'd just discussed not putting any screws into the wood at the request of the landlord and he'd moved the "eye" for that very reason.
