Matt and his crew did a great job of figuring out some 25 year old wiring, and bringing me up to speed with TV and internet. He was totally on top of things, and explained stuff so my old brain could understand. I'm very happy with what I have - he didn't oversell me, which I appreciated. Highly recommend. read more

Matt and his team at Hook Me Up Solutions did outstanding work upgrading our home network from a consumer mesh setup to a full Ubiquiti UniFi system. What set them apart was the walkthrough: our house layout was complicated, and instead of pushing the most expensive path, Matt found a smarter approach that saved us thousands while keeping the cable runs clean and hidden. His crew (Keith and Dat) were professional, tidy, and clearly knew what they were doing. They even handled a patio speaker install as part of the job. Communication was clear and honest from quote to completion. Highly recommend. read more

Matt and Paul changed my life and brought me into the 21st century. I had recently moved in a new house from out of state and had to start from scratch. It began with needing internet as well replacing a complicated, antiquated AV system. What started out as six clunky AV components with multiple remotes was replaced with ONE main device. Clean and easy. I now have kick-ass internet, non-glare TVs with Sonos bars giving me phenomenal sound. They also installed additional Sonos speakers so I can seamlessly listen to music throughout the house, something I love but have never had. There were other goodies I needed that they were able to supply: a new thermostat, camera door bell, and security cameras all thoughtfully placed around the property - and all connected to my phone. Hook Me Up Solutions covered all the bases I needed and did so in a timely, professional manner. And they're super nice guys! In many ways, they truly went above and beyond. I'm not the most tech savvy person but Matt and Paul patiently got me up to speed on how to use all the new technology, most of it from my phone. This was key. In addition, they also updated my lighting. I had outdated recessed lighting, which they replaced and installed dimmers throughout the house, making a huge difference. Last but not least, I had carted an antique chandelier from California that I wanted in my dining room (replacing a very generic fixture). I was waiting forever on an electrican to do this. Instead, Matt did a white-glove installation, reattaching and cleaning each crystal. I was completely blown away. It was phenomenal having all this done (we spaced it out into 4 stages) by guys who are amazing at what they do and truly care about how they treat my home. Yes, it was an investment. But I now feel safe, and my home has been transformed into a peaceful, fun, harmoniously sanctuary. I would highly recommend Hook Me Up Solutions for any of these services. Again, above and beyond. Thank you Matt and Paul. You guys are the best. read more

Contacted the company through their online quote form and received a response within a few hours from the owner, Matt. Very responsive to a conversation about my specific plan. Basically we needed to unmount a TV previously installed by a big box store (horribly I have to add) and re-install two TVs with cable concealment for both. Matt was able to arrange for an in-home consultation right away for a small consultation fee that would be used for credit on the installation. In regards to the installation itself, we were lucky enough to get the work done that week (due to a cancellation). I am thrilled by how it all turned out. The TVs were perfectly mounted. They were able to fix the aftermath of our previous installation, and conceal the cables with a new in-wall track behind our fireplace to a hidden panel in our inset. Additionally, Matt was able to rewire everything with the newest cable standards for prices fairly close to at-cost. Notably, he was able to complete all of this while I was at work for the day and was in constant contact with photos and suggestions throughout. I wish every service was as professional and detailed as this. I will definitely be using and recommending them in the future! read more

Matt and Paul were incredible. We have never seen such comprehensive service. Way beyond our expectation. Our original request was to hook up a new LG TV and attached devices. Not only this was done but they helped us move and hook a second TV, helped update and improve 2 cell phone, email, IPad and laptop. And we received so much education concerning cable, streaming, phone and computer tips. We will be making some changes based on their advice. Don't call anyone else for tech needs. Matthew Alloway is top notch. Processional, courteous, prompt, cleans up after the job and delivers A+ work. Thanks Matt.

Matt and Paul installed a TV antenna in my attic. The company is very organized. They confirmed the appointment via email. Sent me a text 1/2 hour before arrival time to say they were on their way and arrived exactly on time. They were very professional, removing their shoes before coming in and being very careful bringing their equipment into the house. They installed the antenna and made sure both televisions were set up to access the channels the antenna made available and even ran a software update on the newer TV. We can now access 50 channels for no monthly charge. When they were done they thoroughly cleaned their work area even vacuuming the area where they accessed the attic. I was completely satisfied with my experience with Hook Me Up Solutions and would use them again without hesitation. They are not inexpensive, but in my experience you get what you pay for. read more

We have waited to write our review to make sure the work was as good as we thought. It was worth every penny we paid and more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were obstinate and did not take Matt up on his first estimate. That was a big mistake. Our internet used to waiver and the TV's didn't get updated like they should. Matt and Paul were on time every day, cleaned up the work area, and finished in a timely manner. Don't waste your time. Hire them!!! It was so worth it. read more

Matt is awesome!!! He books up fast and told us we were lucky to schedule him! He had all the wiring we needed in his truck. As it turned out, our seriously old receiver needed to be recycled. He has an inventory of the latest equipment from the best brands at a low price because he's a licensed dealer! So he has newer stuff than big box stores and his prices are hundreds less! So we bought a new receiver from Matt and he came back in less than 24 hours. He installed everything and showed us how to work our new sound system! He's extremely knowledgeable and trustworthy. Matt is very nice and understanding. And if that's not enough, Matt can do it ALL from install and tutorials, to cable running, drywall and paint, and more. He's a licensed and bonded general contractor. When we're ready to expand our home sound system, we are definitely giving Hook Me Up Solutions a call! read more

Matt was amazing. From the very beginning the customer service was exemplary; he respected the challenges of working on a house full of children during these crazy Covid times, confirming the appointment schedule hours well ahead of arrival, and giving my family time to vacate the premises while he worked. The job itself involved drilling through a brick wall, and laying cable near some thorny rose bushes. He executed it perfectly, and the internet cable he installed is very discrete and almost invisible on the brick out in front of the home. Inside the home, Matt made sure the wiring was very neat and tidy, cleaning up his work area such that I could not find any trace of him being there -- except that now my office was wired and the wifi all through the house 80% faster! In addition to completing the wiring job, Matt went above and beyond. He consulted with us, noticing an oversight by the cable company with regards to grounding; a couple of issues with our outdoor electric sockets; recommendations on the type of modem for us to upgrade to; and even fixed my garden gate that had a minor problem! Most amazingly Matt help reorganize the networking in my house, bridging my two routers to simplify and clean up things. He clearly knows his stuff in this regard. I would not hesitate to reach out to Hook Me Up again for any home or business needs! read more

I'm usually a do it yourself guy, but I bought a 80" TV for a luxury home, and didn't trust myself to mount it above the fireplace without either having a mess of wires, or a torn up terraced wall from fishing the wires through. I called Hook Me Up Solutions, and Matt came out to install the TV. The best explanation I can give regarding Matt is he is high precision. He gave me the cleanest install I ever could have asked for. He first asks a lot of questions to make sure we are on the same page, then he measures and outlines the area with painters tape to make sure I'm okay with the area. He ended up hanging this monster perfectly, and put cover plates in the entry/exit points for cabling. He concealed the wires so well, you can't tell anything was done. His clean up was great, and he moved the TV box to storage for me. I also asked to pay for an hour of consultation regarding an existing in-ceiling speaker system running throughout my house, and he spent a good 2.5 hours testing all my speaker continuity, and having the attic walked to check the layout. He didn't charge me for that extra time. In trying to help me determine the best method of hooking up a great surround sound system, he offers products at a rate that is usually better priced than Amazon, and doesn't mind if you go buy products elsewhere. He will help tell you how to set this up yourself, or give you a plan for him to do it. I'd use Hook Me Up Solutions again without looking at a competitor. read more

This experience was great from start to finish. My husband and I moved to Portland recently. I emailed Matt before our move to talk about mounting our two TVs in our new place, which we had to rent sight unseen due to Covid-19. He called me back so we could talk in more detail, and I really appreciated the extra effort put forward. From that moment on, he described everything he would and could be doing, including pricing and how long it would take. Nothing hidden, all transparent. He was so nice and personable, I felt really comfortable with him immediately, and we set up an appointment. He's super organized- sent me calendar invites and reminders, emails, and even emailed me to see how the move was going. And this is all before we even started the job! Day of the work, Matt and Paul showed up on time, with a heads-up they were on their way. Prompt and ready to go. Super nice and friendly, equipped and extremely organized. Our dog loves them, btw :). Talked us through all of our options. Didn't try to upsell us on anything, gave their recommendations and let us choose. They did a beautiful job! Our TVs look so fancy now! They also clean up their work area as they go along, and left where they worked spotless. There were a couple of obstacles when it came to a dead cable in the wall and the placement and shape of our funky built-ins, and they overcame them easily, with professionalism, and we were up and running! I seriously can't recommend these guys highly enough, they've spoiled us rotten and we'll definitely hire them again! read more

Matt and his team did a great job installing our home theater system. The process was professionally done from the beginning to the end. From the initial survey to the actual installation Matt and his team are consummate professionals. Their recommendations were in line with the budget on hand. They did not pad the proposal with excessively expensive items and extraneous gear. Their workmanship was clean and precise. They kept our home extremely clean and tidy as the installation progressed. They communicated every step of their installation and kept us in the loop so there were no surprises. At the end of the day we were left with a professional and polished home theater system befitting of any upscale homes in the area. They went above and beyond the scope of the proposal. They sat us down and patiently explained how to operate our new theater and did not leave until we knew what we were doing. I solicited their services based on the previous yelp reviews. And now I'm happy to add my own. For anyone entertaining the idea of any home theater or networking installations I would highly recommend their services. From entry-level budget installations to high-end upscale these guys know what they're doing. I plan to use their services to do the next phase of our project which is the home networking piece. it's a rarity these days to come across a business that takes professional service this seriously. My compliments go out to Matt and his team at hook me up solutions. read more

Matt at Hook Me Up was a total pro and couldn't have been more thoughtful, diligent, and solution-oriented from consultation through to install. I had some serious internet issues after transitioning to full-time work from home and kids temporarily homeschooling, all of us over zoom video wifi. Matt diagnosed the bandwidth problems (after Comcast couldn't) and set up a completely new top of the line home network that was a real game-changer for my family. We have the fastest system in the neighborhood now and it's been worth every penny to have that peace of mind and lightning fast productivity (probably saved my job!). I'd recommend Matt for anything and look forward to working with him again in the future for all my AV and networking needs! read more

Holy smokes....Matt arrived on time and spent four hours making some amazing changes in our home. Fantastic ideas, he offered great options if you don't know exactly what you're after, and nothing was "a problem." In fact, everything was completely possible and able to be done. He was kind, courteous, cleaned up every single bit of dirt after himself, and was very very patient has he took the time to set up our new universal remote for us and explain every feature and how to use it. Absolutely, definitely, without a doubt.....will use his services again. This type of reliability and service is next to nonexistent any longer. read more

Matt installed all of our house hold electronics. He even cleaned up the mess. He was very knowledgeable and polite. I was having an issue with my yamaha receiver. I did not know the configuration of running multiple HDMI cables through my receiver into my TV. It takes a fair bit to impress me, but these guys did it. First of all, I emailed at 9pm to schedule a date for an estimate, and Matt (the owner) got back to me in about 15 mins! This may not happen all the time, but it does mark the responsiveness of HMUS. Second, I wondered whether a Hillsboro-based company would be responsive in NE Portland, but Matt was very easy to schedule for an estimate, and he arrived promptly and communicated well. Most important was that I had all the equipment that I needed -- he didn't try to sell me anything I didn't want or need, or to run down the equipment I had, suggesting better. I even asked whether I should add more speakers, and he gave me his opinion that for my room size, they were not needed. Matt got back to me with a fixed-price for fishing wiring for rear speakers and a subwoofer through our 1905-era home, which I thought was brave, and an hourly rate for cleaning up some other speaker wiring in my home, which was fair. Matt and his assistant arrived at the appointed time and worked all day on the installation, which when billed was probably the best home-improvement dollar I've ever spent. The quality of their work was high, and they cleaned up after and were all-around pleasant guys. I chose HMUS because of their good reviews here, and they did not disappoint me. I would gladly recommend them to anyone for this kind of home theatre wiring. Given their demeanor and professionalism, I think they would do a good job at any other task they bid on as well. read more

Matt was fantastic. All it took was a quick call on Friday and he was at my place ready to go the following Monday. I had tried to start the project myself with purchases from Amazon and a lot of YouTube Instructional Video searching but in the end I was completely over my head. Thankfully, Matt did not laugh at my feeble attempt (It took over 400' of wire where I had bought only 100' for example...). The install went great and I got a lot of great advice from Matt on how to properly take care of our equipment. He worked fast and everything looked great afterwards. In the end we have a great looking home theater now for an installation at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to future proof their home theater with a professional installation. read more

I made an offer to buy a house in a rural area and after researching on my own, satellite internet and TV were my only options for coverage. I had to do an inspection of many items of the property and assumed that there would be some way to get satellite coverage out there. If you have a house built before the internet explosion like me you eventually run into needing better network infrastructure. I needed an Ethernet line run from my router into another room. Matt might be a little guy, but he has huge ideas!! I was having an issue with my Onkyo receiver. I did not know the configuration of running multiple HDMI cables through my receiver into my TV. I had a spider web of chords behind my entertainment center also. Matt came over in a prompt manner, cleaned up my medusa like mess of chords pretty quickly. He also had some tips for me to keep the chords uncluttered. He also went OUT OF HIS way to vacuum little bits of dirt and dustballs that were behind my entertainment center. Turns out my TV doesn't have enough HDMI inputs, so he recommended a less expensive HDMI splitter that works wonders. I know am able to watch multiple peripherals (XBOX 360, Comcast, PC) on my TV without having to unplug and re-plug in HDMI cables. Thank you very much Matt. YOU ROCK! read more
