We reached out to Intellihome, they heard our ideas, added a few additional quality-of-life features that we hadn't even thought of, and got to work. Im not sure what I was expecting, but the end result exceeds even those vague expectations. The new wiring is a big future-proofing upgrade, wires are tucked neatly into the wall, and as you can see in my photo, there are zero cables hanging from the TV -- a crucial feature when you have four curious, chaotic cats. Intellihome was extremely easy to work with, exceedingly professional, and they do great work. When we eventually opt for further surround sound upgrades, we'll be calling Intellihome.

Don't know how they went downhill so badly (according to the…read morereviews), because they did the install on our home in 2007 and it was fantastic and has been trouble-free all this time. I looked them up because we are finally putting in a bigger flat screen and I wanted it done professionally. Luckily I found the contact of the guy who lead the original install in our home, Jeff Kill. He was an employee at Room Service for many years when I met him, and he left Room Service some years ago now has his own company called Ambient Automation. The install guys on his team are also from Room Service. This week (Dec 18, 23) Jeff's new company installed our new 77" Sony, put new HDMI cables through our walls (to support 4K video) and were done in less than 2 hours, and it all worked with our existing universal remote (also provided by Jeff at the original install, and it still works great!) So the 5 star review is for Jeff's new team in case other former customers of Room Service find this review.

I have to reboot the WHOLE set up 2-5 times a day in order for a black screen to not appear. When we told them about this, this was their response "well we can't order a new one cause it'll take way to long." And "this shouldn't be happening, but there's nothing we can do to fix it. If it gets a red light on the tv then we can." Recently some "control 4" stuff wasn't working. My dad contacted Mike and left a message. Still waiting to hear back after about 5 days. That's some real Sus ass crook shit to do. So we bought 10-15 thousand dollar system, and they fucked up, it rarely works, and they say they can't do anything about it. The primary alarm monitoring system, through Alarm.com is bulletproof. We've had some alarms go off when we weren't in town. The police showed up. If there is urgent issues, they are on the phone with you immediately. 2. The service side - OmniGuard is local and will fix your issues. They are small, and sometimes they can drop the ball, but they always make it right. When you call they are respectful and helpful. 3. Price points remain stable - they don't jack you around after a year. The value remains.

Now, three years later I find out that they can't figure out why, since my system is on a cell radio connection only. I have found that any inquiries I have made either get lost or ignored. When pushed, however, the company has come through. The manager, Tina, told me she has only worked there since January, so she's not familiar with their products or systems. It's November! On balance the company is OK and the price is competitive. However, staffing and training seems to be needed.
