I really felt it was necessary to give a shout out to the talented people at Aero. I have worked with them on some keys and locks and things over the past year and everything has always worked and worked well. So I decided to bring in a "challenge". One that their craftsman locksmiths really excelled at. I had an old bookcase (100+ years old) that I inherited from my family. In the 100 year old bookcase is a 100+ year old lock. As far as I know we have never had the lock work (myself or my parents). I moved the bookcase and wanted to restore it so I took the lock into Aero. It was full of years worth of varnish, age, rust and so on. In about 4 days time not only was Aero able to make an antique looking key but they fixed the lock. No masks or hand sanitizer in sight! I felt unsafe being in such a small and enclosed space with the employee approaching me without a mask on. The mask protects others - I wore mine to protect you (and follow state mandates) and I would expect the same, especially from a business. At least put out hand sanitizer on the counter if you insist on touching my card for payment. Businesses should be following all mandates for COVID-19 safety. Do better! read more

Aero Lock & Safe really went above and beyond for me... it was truly incredible! I had a key made by them about a year ago, and due to the poor design of the original key manufacturer, the key began to break and it got to the point where I couldn't get into the trunk of my car anymore. So, I called Aero Lock & Safe and the woman working really went above and beyond. She didn't want to risk me breaking my key in the ignition so she even came by and picked me up right from my house. Then, when we got to the shop, she began making me an entirely new key. The man at the shop told her to make me a few extra keys because this problem would be likely to happen again due to the poor design and it was no charge to me at all... they helped me so much and I was so worried I was going to have to pay for a new car key, which is SO expensive. Aero Lock& Key- excellent customer service! Very Reasonable prices! Doug arrived about a half hour after I called. He is a fellow in his 50's. This is a family owned business. He re-keyed 3 locks and figured out a cool lock for a bedroom door that didn't show on the outside. I was very impressed with his helpfulness and he arrived on time. He also said he does his jobs by the order they are called in, not by how big the job is. (I had been rescheduled several times over 3 days by A&E) Doug made us several keys and said he drives over from Newberg but serves Mac & is avail 24 hrs a day!! Great for Emergencies. Please add him to your contacts! He also says he can make chip keys for cars cheaper than the Dealerships charge. Patricia, with all due respect you are not telling the truth. Any reasonable person reading your comment would know that your overweight middle aged son and you being 63 carrying a 200 pound safe into your business with NO LIGHTS ON is wholeheartedly BOGUS! You were not there, if you were, you clearly would have heard our discussion and come out from within the business. Since you did not, any reasonable person would also take your allegation that you were there and in the building with a grain of salt. The first words out of your son's mouth when I arrived was, "Oh, there you are." And I did in fact ask him why he had to park as he did blocking me in. His immediate response was, "[I] needed to unload some heavy things from my van." See that! [I], not we, but [I]. Moreover, the back of the van only had one door open, the passenger side as he emerged from it. Yes, it is your business but you DO NOT have the right to inconvenience other people for your personal benefit. Any reasonable person can see in the picture that I took that had your son parked the van next to the building, passenger side closest to the building with the back of the van backed right up to the front of the store, the journey from the back of the van to the front door was shorter than where he did in fact park the van blocking me in. That is an incontestable fact, period! Also, a 63 year old woman and your son carrying a 200lb safe...yeah, I do not think so. Any reasonable person knows that is beyond your physical capabilities to maintain equilibrium in keeping yourself and the safe steady enough to pull it from the back of the van, around an open door and through the tight quarters of your business. Yet another fabrication to rationalize this patently obvious disrespectful parking. At NO TIME did your son say "sorry" for blocking me in, he gave me nothing but excuses and whined that it was his business and he should parked wherever he liked; which prompted me to get back out of my car and tell him politely yet sternly that I did not care if it was his business, it was and is a PUBLIC PARKING LOT, which your son admitted to. It was empty and the business was closed. Again, your son could and should have made the far more logical (rational) decision to park alongside the building so as not to inconvenience the driver (me) of the vehicle he so disrespectfully blocked in. And I did not grumble when I got in my car, your son was the one grumbling (as aforementioned). He lied to you. What does that say about your son Patricia!?! This parking behavior was not my first experience with your son (or other person who drives that van), so I know for sure it was intentional and not by accident. Again, the more rational course would have been to park alongside the building. The shortest distance between two points is a straight line, and that straight line from the back of the van parked alongside the building is a shorter distance than where he parked it blocking me in. So yes, I and any reasonable person would consider that parking and blocking me in as being a jerk. I made no assumptions but logical deductions, and I certainly did not condemn your son for being human but for being inconsiderate. Thank you for your reply Patricia, it only proves my position in this matter. I will be sure to share your response and the patent untruths your son told you and the obvious misinformation you contributed therein. Oh, and I learned today from an anonymous source that you or your son finally put signs up demarcating the alleged allotted 3 spaces for your business as customer parking only...and that they may be posted incorrectly on cheap metal rods and not at the proper height. I will do a spot check on this, and if so, I suggest you correct it so it is in line with the City of Newberg's local ordinances, otherwise I will report it. Last but not least, I have lived in this town for over 17 years, and not once has there ever been a sign posted marking any allotted spaces for that business; either with the previous owners or new ownership up to this particular Sunday when your son blocked me in with his inappropriate parking of the van. I will be checking public records to find the owners of that building as well as confirming with US Bank and Fred Meyer who the legal owners are of that parcel of land that that parking lot is on, and the lease agreement that is held to confirm what three spaces are allotted, if any, for your business. Rarely do I do reviews but everytime I drive by I feel I need to. Aero went above and beyond to help me the other day with my key fob. It had been loose and finally broke open and I lost the circuit board. When I went in and explained it had been loose awhile they explained I should have come sooner, of course but she went ahead and discounted a whole new fob, which was totally unexpected and so generous. The extra Toyota car key we had died, and when we took it in to the dealership we were told it wasn't fixable and we had to buy a new $400+ key. When we went to Aero Lock and Safe, Pat made a new key for us PLUS made the extra key work, and it was only $70!!!! She was very thorough in assessing what we needed. She did a GREAT job, was very patient with us and took time to explain what she needed to do. Once we established what we needed she was very fast at getting it done. Best service from a locksmith I have ever gotten. They are family owned and operated and you can tell just how homely it feels when you walk in the door. All I needed was a spare key for my truck as I broke my old one. They were able to take the two pieces and put a new key together really quickly! After that I bought a couple of spare keys to my house! During the whole process it was friendly conversation and just overall a nice place to be. I lost the keys to my suburban. After months of searching for my keys, I finally had these guys come out to make a new set. Ironically at the same time that these guys were coming out, my other vehicle, Honda element was having ignition issues. Key was jammed going in or out. so I was suspecting ignition issues/broken wafers. This small mom-and-pop shop took care of all my issues all in one visit to my home location.
