    Birthday cake
    Kainani K.

I was lucky because the bakery already had the design I wanted for my daughter's cake. The process to place my order was easy and they got back to me right away for payment. The cake flavor was strawberries and cream, and it was absolutely delicious! Not only was my daughter happy about the design, she enjoyed the flavor of her cake. I'll definitely go back when I need a delicious and beautiful cake.

Thank you for letting me pick up the birthday cake straight after working a night shift. Thankful you are located so close to Kapiʻolani Medical Center for Women and Children. I ordered the pre-designed fresh floral cake. The cake was well packaged and made it all the way to the North Shore in one piece. The birthday girl was ecstatic when she saw the cake. I had to go to work before celebrations started. I was told the yellow butter cake with layers of light whipped vanilla cream filling was delicious. It was the perfect size for a small gathering.

They did wonderful for our wedding cake and grooms cake. They were both perfect and tasted wonderful. We couldn't have been happier

I had A Cake Life do a dessert bar for my wedding. I worried we would have leftovers but almost every single dessert was gone by the end of the night. Everything was delicious (but the strawberry and cream/coconut cake was my absolute favorite)!

Got a custom cake here for a friends birthday. It was easy pickup, a tasty cake, and aesthetic! Taste itself was pretty solid, with nice a cream to it.

I ordered a test box with 6 different flavors and I loveeeeeed the yellow butter with strawberry and also 2nd yellow butter with vanilla. So I did not hesitate to order a full cake of yellow butter with strawberry. Well, they covered that cake in the thickest heavy stuff I wouldn't even call frosting. It was so gross that everyone was wondering why I even got that cake... and it cost almost $100!! Such a waste of money and time. The cake sure was pretty though.

Our cake was one of the easiest and yummiest choices we made for our wedding. I also loved that they offer cake pops! Who doesn't love a bite size cake that is easy to eat and doesn't make a mess! I loved the choices of flavors. Kristin was super easy to work with and everything we had was delicious!

I'm extremely happy I found Cake Life. Kristen responded to my email fast. Not only was she super nice ,but helpful and very professional. I wanted a baby shower cake for my daughter, but really had no idea what design I wanted . Then she asked if there was a theme for the shower? I showed her the invitation and told her the color scheme. From that Kristen 's creative vision came to Cake Life! It was "A Little Lumpia on the Way" neutral colors ! The cake was so cute and adorable! Also delicious!! Thank you Kristen for your creativeness, professionalism, and overall kindness! it was a very Happy Shower!!!

My fiance ordered a cake for my birthday and it came out perfect!!! It was the vintage heart with strawberry cream cake. It was the most beautiful cake and we loved it so much!

 Classic White Cake

Summary. Delicious cake! Real ingredients. I will order from them again. Background. Tough to find a quality custom cake around Christmas time. So many better bakeries won't do it, as if no one is born or gets married in December. A Cake Life came through. Plain vanilla was preferred and the Classic White Cake fit the bill. There are a number of other flavors available. Ordering the smaller size (5-10), thought it would be a moderate sized layer cake. It was huge, so heavy, I weighed it, five and a half pounds! Many more servings than ten. Quality. The real buttercream icing was slathered on like buttering brick mortar, thick. Believe the cake had at least three pounds of butter. The cake layers tasted buttery, like homemade from scratch. Cost. Yes, it was pricey, but worth it. Looking through their photo gallery, there are other options, including sheet cakes, that may not be as massive and costly. One quibble, tried to convey that I wanted a holiday motif, red and green decoration. A simple Christmas tree piped across the top would have been fine. But couldn't get that across over the phone. Instead, they offered red, white and green floral decorations. Thought that meant flowers made of icing but turned out, they were real flowers and foliage. Not Christmassy at all, BUT classy. Location. Thought I knew where the bakery was. Stopped by there years ago, unsuccessfully seeking a ready made cake. They only make cakes to order. But this time, it didn't appear to be clearly marked. It's in the interior Makai-Ewa corner of the strip mall. Look for signs that say knock for deliveries. Think that's the kitchen door.

There's no way to say this enough, OUTSTANDING! Kristin's cakes were made with such divine freshness and love. It just melts in your mouth but made our hearts happy with their beauty! She hand-delivered these to my parents at our hotel for their 50th Anniversary celebration with our family of 17. We traveled from Alaska to Hawaii and ordering these cakes was so easy and just made their Golden Anniversary perfect. Mahalo and hugs Kristin!

At first glance, you might be in a bit of sticker shock when you see the prices on the menu. However, the attention to detail and communication from this business is totally worth it. I have dealt with many businesses who are unresponsive or curt with their responses to inquiries, but this one was very quick to text back, very professional, and the appearance of the cake was just beautiful! I got my husband a birthday cake and he was so touched. He helped me pick it out and he loves flowers. His favorite flavor of anything is strawberry, so the strawberry filling was perfect. The roses and gold flecks were so perfectly crafted and the letters were gum paste which he enjoyed eating as well. I also got a sugar cookie which was very pretty and tasted ok. The cake bento was fun and I got to try a bunch of flavors. Top 2 were the devil's food with peanut butter and the red velvet with cream cheese. Pickup was super fast and easy, just text them and they came right out! Great service, great experience.

A Cake Life and Kristin are incredible! Their ordering and delivery process is smooth and seamless, and their mini dessert offerings are so cute!! The team is responsive and professional, which makes everything so easy. She can do massive three tier cakes, a simple small one tier, or anything in between! Highly recommend :)

Think of a cross between a meringue and a marshmallow but 1000x more beautiful as they are edible flowers. Next up, I had to hope someone on Oahu could make it and pray I didn't need to order online or through Etsy to be mailed here. I was so excited to see Zarina makes these out of Kapolei!!!And she delivers. After drooling over the instagram page, I contacted Zarina to begin the ordering process. She is super quick and professional in replying. She handcrafts all her zephyrs - no molds here! She can do carnations, hydrangeas, matthiola, lilies, chrysantheums, and more. I chose an assortment of flowers to be done in boxes as I wanted to easily share marshmallows with my loved ones while celebrating. Zarina can make bouquets if you want too! Zarina also makes cakes and cookies. She can do honey cake (medovik), meringue roll cake, pavlova cake, and classic biscuit cake with different fillings, layers, and creams. I'm huge on layers so you know I ordered a honey cake. It is not an easy cake to make and I was soooo impressed with how this came out. It was decadent, moist, and melted in my mouth. My family members who usually don't do dessert thought this was amazing and all talked about the quality. This was top tier. Just look at the layers in the photo. Since my zephyrs were in boxes, I decorated my cake with them for my birthday photos!!! Soooo gorgeous to look at. It was a little sad to eat them because they were so pretty but my taste buds loved it. Light, airy, fluffy, not too sweet, and the right amount of zing from the strawberry puree. Also, Zarina delivers!!! She drove across the island and delivered in the time frame we agreed upon weeks ago. No issue at all. And we just went through a huge storm. She was super communicative the whole way through and made this birthday so special for me. Spasibo, Zarina!!!

Pick up was supposed to be from 12pm-1pm. I messaged her at 11:36am giving her a heads up that I was on my way. Arrived at 12:01pm (right on time) and she informed me that she still wasnt ready. Waited until 12:50pm and had to leave. She wrote back saying she was rushing and "these things take time". Why let me know when I drove 40 minutes to the pick up spot???? If you know you aren't able to make it by the pick up time then why not give me a different window time for pick up or offer delivery? There was no way for me to drive back to Kapolei before my daughters party. I paid $377 for absolutely nothing. She didnt even offer to drop it off to me after making me wait for 50 minutes.

I wanted to try a variety to get an idea of what their best options are so we got one cream puff and two different cake rolls, one strawberry and one Okinawa sweet potato. When we went at 7 pm they still had about 6 options in the case, with the majority being cake rolls. The double cream cookie puff was hands down my favorite and absolutely delicious. Coco puff who? Just kidding, but both are delicious in their own way but I do prefer Malu, especially the dough on the cream puff. The cake rolls were not too sweet and very soft. We tried the strawberry and Okinawa sweet potato, the sweet potato had actual chunks of potato in it. The strawberry had one fresh strawberry and some bits in the piece. The prices were very reasonable, I think we got all 3 for under $14. The worker/owner? was sweet and got everything packed quickly. It's small but there are a couple of tables if you want to eat in, I chose to take home. I want to go back earlier in the day to try some of their other specialties. The mango panna cotta was my second favorite which included the mango bits on top - a nice touch - and the cream nice and rich. Lemon tart had an odd taste to it. Should have went with the mush peach tart that didn't look as appetizing but probably better. The macarons were my least favorite especially the yuzu and passion fruit flavors that didn't taste anything like those fruits. For $2.50 I wish they were better and not as dry. Though when the gentleman taking our order asked for the sweetness level, we knew it must've been a drink. And it did not disappoint! I've never had anything like this before. It was the perfect blend of strawberry on top, not too sweet, not too sour and the panna cotta smooths it all out from the bottom up through your straw.
