My new favorite. I love cupcakes, and I love a good macaron, ...and cookies. Who are we kidding? I have a sweet tooth and love everything sweet. I will indulge in any of them as long as the calories are worth it. This place is worth it. I love that they offer the mini cupcakes, it gives me the opportunity to try more flavors at once. We stopped by and got the Oreo, Chocolate Salted Caramel, Strawberry and Vanilla. I tasted the last three. Amazing! The cake was moist and the amount of frosting was perfect without being overwhelming. I also had a raspberry macaron, loved it. It had the crunchy crust and inside it was pillowy soft, so delicious. The lemon cookie was also great. I wish I had taken pictures, but this little piggy went to town on them. I am sure I will be back, even though it is a trek for me. My wife and I love supporting local businesses especially in Central and North Phoenix, so of course, we had to checkout A Bakeshop and we were very disappointed. A few months ago, my wife and I were getting ready to celebrate the Baptism of my 3 month old. So we called to inquire about prices and then when the owner (?) asked the theme of the cake, she immediately answered very rudely and made it seem as if it was going to be a chore for her. I am not sure if she is anti-Christian or what -- but it left a bad taste in our mouth. She was going to charge us $100 for a baptism cake! So we just went with Cotsco instead. Last week I went there again to check out some cookies and I find it very odd there was no greeter. No one standing at the front. I waited about a minute before a lady came from the back to greet me. Again, this person seemed very uninterested in providing a satisfactory customer service. Their baked goods are really delicious, but they really need to step up in their hospitality and customer service department. read more

Offering a discount explains how this place got so many five star reviews because I don't feel like it deserves even one star. I made a special trip after reading that they serve cassata (ricotta cake). Trust me, what I got was simply a slice of layer cake with whipped cream and chocolate chips. Absolutely NOT cassata which has ricotta, rum, fruit, etc. in an authentic Italian cassata! The very belligerent ?owner? presented herself to argue that the cake was indeed cassata since she's from Palermo. Well, I don't care where she claims to be from her "cassata" is NOT cassata but cream cake. The real cake is admittedly expensive to create and I fear this establishment is having enough difficulty paying the rent. read more

I can not say enough about what a positive experience I had with these guys today! I called day of- from Los Angeles asking for a delivery to my friend and her new baby. Even though their schedule was packed, they accommodated and delivered 18 beautiful (and from what my friend says, DELICIOUS!) mini cupcakes with a bow and personal message on the box! All I can say is WOW. I've been looking for a good dessert place in phx for the past year with so many disappointments, but finally I've found my go to bakery. I tried the double vanilla cupcake, which was my favorite bc there is a vanilla surprise in the middle, cookies n cream cupcake, strawberry cupcake, and vanilla macaron. The macaron seemed to be an Italian method which I prefer bc it's not as dry as the French method, but can't say for certain. Any way this place is so good! I'll be comig here a lot!! read more

This place has the BEST and FRESHEST macarons I've had anywhere in Phoenix. My current addiction are the salted caramel macaron. But the strawberry and Vanilla bean are also to die for! Wow - I love this place! Super quaint decor, friendly staff and an excellent selection of sweets - cookies, brownies, cupcakes, gelato...the list could go on and on. This is a small speciality shop. You will not find the same thing every day. I ordered my mother's birthday cake here in January and OMG we just loved it. They put a lot of care into what they give you. So if you're looking for a great big selection when you walk in, don't bother going here and then complaining about it. Go to Costco instead. I wish this place was closer to me. I literally just walked out of this place, got in my Jeep and popped open the box of goodies. The cannoli and the pumpkin cupcake were soooo amazing. I have a new best friend in A Bakedhop.This place is ridiculously good - wow! Our favorites: Oatmeal Cream Pie, Peanut Butter and Ricotta Cookies are TDF. Life changing. I also loved the Italian white layered cakey-thing with light, whipped icing, though my hubby was so-so. Quaint inside, limited seating but perfect to take home. And a side note in response to another review here: 1) didn't know the register sign asked for Yelp reviews. What register? All I saw was the dessert case. 2) Parking does stink. Use the lot across the street and walk across - you're going to need the extra steps after this anyhow. read more

A Bakeshop catered my wedding with a dessert bar and our wedding cake and they were such a big highlight of our entire night! We chose 5 different desserts: mini cannolis, mini salted caramel cupcakes, mini cheesecakes, mini fruit parfaits, and the ricotta cookies. ALL of our guest raved about the desserts and said they were the best they ever had. We ordered a one tier cake for my groom and I to cut into and we chose the Cassata (cannoli) flavor and it was the best tasting cake we have ever had! They were easy to work with and did such a beautiful setup at our wedding. I would recommend them to anyone in need of some amazing desserts! read more

I had a last minute birthday cupcake delivery order, and the staff was more than accommodating! I live 1700 miles from my best friend, and A Bakeshop made sure I didn't miss a beat on her birthday. This quaint bakeshop off the not far off the 10 fwy was recommended to me if I was ever in the Pheonix area. I made it a point to drop in when driving through on vacation. Sticking to my resolution of eating more fruits and vegetables I ordered carrot cake and a stawberry cupcake. The cupcake is made with real strawberries what a treat. The carrot cake was delicious. I had the triple vanilla cupcake and the lemon bar I purchased for my husband. He really enjoyed the lemon bar the shortbread crust is perfection, there is a slight crunch to the top layer that is delicate and unexpected, excellent. I'm not into the typical American approach of everything needs to be huge but for $3.50??? I personally think the cupcakes need to be maybe 25% bigger??? w/ the frosting all the way around the cake it doesn't necessarily have to be as high as it is but the frosting should be covering all the cake, Looks pretty skimpy as is although I'm all about the frosting! The execution was very pretty I absolutely loved the actual vanilla bean inside the interior pastry cream well thought out combination. It could have just been this particular day but the cake portion was pretty dry and I'm super picky when it comes to that, so given these few critiques that's only reason I'm doing 4 instead of 5 stars:) read more

Amazing treats and cupcakes! I bought a carrot cake and cupcakes for my husband's birthday. They were great to work with, and even could make something in a few day's notice. I also grabbed a "magic bar" while there - it was by far the best I've had! My only complaint is the price - mini cupcakes were a bit pricey. Very good, but they go way too fast!
