Come here for the best Asian Fruit Cakes!! Growing up we always have fruit cakes and my whole family goes to them for any celebrations and even wedding cakes! The cake is perfectly moist. The whipped cream is the perfect amount of sweetness. The cake is light and delicious. The pricing is great too!! Very friendly family and gives you the best customer service! I would highly recommend!

From the outside, Asahi Bakery looks unassuming and you can easily walk/drive right past without noticing. Head inside and a while world of Asian pastries and goodies await. I love their cappuccino cake. Make sure to order ahead as they might not have this flavor available for purchase at all times. The owners are super sweet (no pun intended!) and it's been a pleasure getting to know them. The only reason my review is not 5 stars is because the fruit on some of the cakes were not that fresh and the cream frosting on the ready made cakes can be a bit stale depending on how long they have been in the refrigerated case. Since this bakery is a family owned business they can have limited hours, so be sure to double-check when they are open.

This place is so good!!! We get the macrons which are coconut filled collate like balls. They are delicious: the cakes also look so good.

Mini fruit cake rolls. The cake is sponge cake. Very light and refreshing

I have lived in the neighborhood for over 5 years now and regret not giving this bakery more business than I should. It's unique for the area because they are an Asian bakery. Asian cakes are predominantly sponge cake, resulting in a lighter airier tasting dessert. They also tend to use either butter cream or whipped cream (Asahi uses whipped cream) which I very much prefer over sugar frosting. Sugar frosting literally makes my teeth cringe and hurt just from thinking about it. It also screams, pls inject me with DMII, but I digress. Recently had the pleasure of swinging in to pick up a treat for the foster department staff at Arizona Animal Welfare League, where I foster and volunteer at (shameless plug, pls consider fostering to help save small lil furry lives). Did not want to be boring or cliche by bringing in donuts, cookies from costco, cake from a Fry's or something generic. So after a lil brainstorming, Asahi came to mind. Picked up these cute fruit cake mini rolls. Perfect for a light lil afternoon treat. I've had the pleasure of trying their actual whole fruit cake in the past and it's delightful. I'm definitely making a better effort and giving this place more of my business. The owner and staff are also so kind and grateful for every customer.

Asahi Bakery Orderd the Asahi Fruit Cake in a quarter sheet to feed 12, we cut generous size slices and had plenty leftover. Called Friday, was looking at picking up on Saturday morning, but they open at 11 am and I had to be in Tempe with the cake by 11am. So David the owner said he would open at 10:30 am on Saturday, but I thought that would be cutting it close. I asked him what he currently had and he said he had one more quarter sheet so I asked it he could hold it for me and I would like to pick it up Friday and asked about writing birthday names on the cake and he said it would take about 10 seconds, I think it took him 15 seconds because there were four names. Lol. David was very accommodating and the cake was a hit at the get together.

Taro cake, made from real taro.

They are still open during the pandemic, which I really appreciate. Their taro cake is very good. The cream is fluffy and mildly sweet. The taro cream inside is fresh and made of real taro. I like Asian cake because they are not overly sweet like American ones. I hope their business will survive through this pandemic. Many small local bakeries have closed permanently already.

The cake was ok. Not impress. They don't have much to choose from when I went there. The fruit in the cake was not fresh at all.

Dining on Feb 23rd, 2026…read more What a charming and cozy French cafe! This classy bistro is run by wife and husband, Noelle & Duc Liao. Noelle manages and buys for the business and Duc does all the cooking and baking. With Noelle spending 15 years residing in Paris, and Duc over 30 you can see their passion for French cuisine. My friend loved her lobster salad sandwich accompanied by a spring mix. I loved the French vinaigrette that came with my salad! It was lip smacking! I wish I could buy some to take home. With a variety of in house made pastries and baked goods, I'm eager to return for coffee time or dinner on Fridays or Saturdays evenings. BYOB if you care to have some liquor accompany your meal, hours 5-7 pm. Plenty of free parking in this strip mall. The genuine cheerful service is refreshing as is the Paris influenced interior decor. Employees were gracious and didn't even make us feel rushed even when we realized it was 20 mins past their posted operating hours. I've heard that three quarters of their business is from returning customers. I too, will become one of them!

(I did not. I ordered a full breakfast and a waffle like an adult with priorities.) I went around 9:15am on a Wednesday--only a few tables were occupied, and the staff was super friendly, gave great recommendations, and the food came out fast. Inside is dialed in with chandeliers, French-y posters and photos everywhere, and a pastry case with tarts, pastries, and cheesecake that basically dares you to behave. The croissant was the star... fresh, flaky, light, buttery... exactly what you want. The egg was cooked perfectly and the cheese was melted into it almost like a mini omelette (loved that). My only hiccup was the "bacon." It leaned more limp pork belly than crispy bacon and had a distinct smoke flavor that wasn't the traditional hardwood/hickory vibe I'm used to. Also... because the cheese and egg are fused together, it's basically impossible to pick the bacon out once it's in there. Next time I'd order it without bacon or ask for it on the side and make it crispy. It came with a side salad, which is not what I expected with breakfast, but it was actually great, fresh spring mix and a delicious dressing with a subtle sweet undertone. There were also hash browns with a crispy exterior and soft, warm interior, exactly the texture you hope for I just wish there were more of them! Because I have no self-control around French cafes, I also ordered the Belgian waffle with fruit and whipped cream. The waffle was warm and tasty, more tender/soft than crispy, and I ended up preferring it to the 'scrape the roof of your mouth' style that most restaurants serve up. The whipped cream tasted freshly whipped and the fruit selection was generous. My only critique: I'd skip the granulated sugar on top. The waffle is sweet enough already, and biting into sugar crystals isn't my favorite texture. For a drink I tried the blueberry lavender matcha. It had crushed blueberries in it, but the matcha flavor was pretty mild and the lavender got lost. I also would've liked a touch more sweetness from the syrup but overall it drank a bit "soft" and subtle. Bottom line... really cool little spot with friendly service, quick food, and a pastry case that will absolutely ruin any plan you had to "just eat light." I'll be back but next time I'm customizing that croissant sandwich and letting the pastries talk me into bad decisions.

There's no place to sit inside, but there are two nice parking spaces out in the front since it's a busy parking lot by a gym. They have several cases of sweet options, cakes that you can customize on the spot, and pastries that are topped fresh to order. They also have so many cake pop flavors. I didn't even know how to decide! The owner, Melissa, was so sweet to me! I asked her questions about the business, and what they do for catering. I love supporting local businesses, especially bakeries because I'm a baker myself. I talked to her about customizing an order for my place of employment in the next couple of months and she was totally on board to customize it how I wanted. Aside for my too good bag, I ended up buying an ube cake pop and a Boston cream tart, and both are out of this world! On Fridays and Saturdays, they do buy one get one free cake, pops, so it's a perfect opportunity to try all of the flavors! Definitely try this place, you will not be disappointed!

I was really happy with the service. They also offer baked goods and cake pops for purchase in store. The bakery itself is very nice and clean, with an open kitchen and workspace where you can watch the decorators at work. The cookies were some of the best I've ever had. I've ordered custom cookies before that were a bit hard, but these were so soft and absolutely beautiful. I'll definitely be using them again in the future. I also thought my cake turned out super cute. If I had to nitpick, I wish the 30 had been in a slightly bolder font like my photo reference, but overall they did a great job. The cake was also quite large and heavy. I believe I ordered the 10 inch, and it was very tall. The picture honestly doesn't do it justice. I chose the cookies and cream flavor, and it was pretty good.
