I was the lucky recipient of a birthday cake from Bamboo Bakery last night. My son and daughter in law had me over for dinner to celebrate my birthday. She bought the cake from Bamboo Bakery. The cake was a quarter sheet, chocolate with buttercream frosting. The cake was 5" tall! It was terrific. The cake itself was very moist and the buttercream frosting was not overly sweet. I'm all about good frosting so that was really appreciated. Amy said the service in the bakery itself was very fast when she went in to pick up the cake, and her experience while ordering was great. They even spelled my name correctly, which sometimes does not happen. I cannot speak to ambiance because I wasn't there. Amy said the place was very clean. BB is known for their wedding cakes but this birthday cake was terrific. And the pricing was at least 30% less than the go-to bakery our family used for several years. However, the cake arrived late, 15 minutes before the ceremony. I wish I could give them 0 stars. They delivered the wrong cake to my client's wedding which means they also delivered the wrong cake to another wedding. And ruined two weddings!! They went this morning to get a refund on a cake that they couldn't eat. One of the brides is allergic to chocolate and they delivered a chocolate cake instead of the pink champagne cake they ordered. In addition they delivered the cake at 1 pm and the venue doesn't open until 2 pm. Luckily someone was there to receive it. They refused to give them a refund and didn't even apologize. Instead they laughed about ruining their wedding. And the cake didn't taste any better than a Costco cake. I'd expect more for something they paid several hundred dollars for. read more
