I have ordered several cakes from Bamboo Bakery...and they seriously deliver nothing but the BEST. I will post up photos of the 2 recent cakes our family has ordered soon. One is a white cake with pink and black decorations. It was for my sister's sweet 16th birthday bash. Everyone couldn't stop talking about the cake! It was a 2-tiered round cake. The raised columns really made the cake stand out. The decorations for her party were white, silver, fuschia, and black so the cake correlated VERY well. One tier was chocolate fudge and the other tier was strawberry champagne flavored. :) It was all gone by the end of the night. The second cake was for my ASU graduation party. Once again, we had the cake match the decoration colors. We used Black and Gold for the party decorations and the cake was exactly that. This time, we chose to go with 2-tiered square cake. It was GORGEOUS and everyone at the party loved it! The taste was out of this world too! We chose fresh strawberries and bavarian creme for the filling with whipped cream as the frosting. Let's just say...it was so good I had the top tier all to myself and ate it for lunch everyday until it was all gone. The flowers on the cake were beautiful and it was so well created, that my father couldn't even stop talking about it. He said "Wow! The cake is so pretty...especially the gold flowers!". This coming from a quiet, reserved, picky man...was one of the greatest compliments this cake could have received. :) You'll never be able to customize a cake the way you can at Bamboo Bakery! They create the most beautiful cakes and can really make your events truly "special". I will be ordering from them...FOREVER! read more

I started going to their monthly expos to taste their cakes and boy was I in for a treat. I absolutely love that their cakes aren't super sweet, and are light and fluffy. It was so hard to choose a flavor because they are all great and they are so unique. They were so easy to work with, they delivered my cake all the way to Sedona. Very disappointed and mad. I went in there bakery on 7-14-17 to order a cake for my son and I waited for more than 10 min. and absolutely nobody came out. I could clearly hear a man talking with someone in their office and I know they heard me walk in, they have a door alarm and cameras, and he never came out. I sued Bamboo bakery. Reasons Quinceanera cake wrong color, wrong name, Frozen after 4.5 hours sitting at venue, and not decor like requested. Didn't add bling to cake. Very Plain. Judge awarded me 100% including my deposit for stand returned but David kept $.How bad is that. David try to refer to pieces eaten but judge saw through that and held him accountable for full amount. Its been year. David says won't pay and he hasn't. This business lacks integrity. More people need to hold him accountable. Please look at shop and go with your gutt. Price enticing but cakes still expensive especially when you put your important occasion in their hands and its a fail and he doesn't take responsibility. read more

Not what we expected... My daughter is getting married soon and this was the couples cake tasting I paid $25 for. The showroom is dirty, period. One of my daughters noticed a dead roach on the floor... The displays are extremely old and unkept. The cake was terrible to put it kindly. It was cold and tasted old. Obviously this was a previously frozen cake. Not the experience we wanted for our daughter and her fiancé. And this place is located off a dark alley. The bakery is popular for its durian flavor. It has however gone downhill. The cake does not taste like it was before. I could barely taste any durian. It was also still frozen inside 45 mins after I picked up the cake. I ordered two cakes with designs, assuming I paid extra money for it, one was with the sprayed picture and the other had two colors as the theme design. We've had Bamboo cakes for our family birthday gatherings for years, and I've always loved the flavors that we've had, but the favorite has got to be the plain vanilla cake with the young coconut filling. My sister got a Bamboo cake for her wedding a few years ago, so when it came to my wedding, I already knew I had to get one as well. David did a great job. All we cared about was the flavors, so we got a budget cake, but it looked beautiful and was delivered on time to the location, and we got our deposit back quickly after returning the stuff that held the cake up and together. We'll be back for more cakes and can't wait til the new place opens up, since that will be closer to our house. Just expect a lot of face to face meetings as they don't seem to answer emails or phone calls. An inconvenience to run into to get a good price for a good cake. read more

We went for a tasting, gave us samples of about 8 types of cakes. Here is problem 1, the tasting is one bite and the cake is obviously thawed out from being frozen. Not moist, rather bland and being only one bite its difficult to tell if you and your soon to be spouse really both enjoy it wtihout another taste. Owner told us that we should come back again and sit down with a designer to get an exact price quote and what we wanted. So..I called back to make the appointment and the owner wanted ANOTHER $25.00 to come back and sit down with them. I told him, we already tasted the cake, why do we need to pay you another $25??? He said "our policy". What a joke and quite frankly poor business ethics. I am actually glad as I wasnt NOT impressed with the samples served prior. read more

I've been coming to Bamboo Bakery for awhile now for special order cakes. I use to even go to their old location on Glendale Rd. I love the cake flavors and their ability to make the cakes that I ask for. I had them do my wedding cake which was in 2007 and just recently my daughter's quince cake 10/2015. When you book you put down a deposit for the appointment. If you are ordering a cake that requires them to use tiers you pay a deposit and that is refundable once you bring back their equipment. I normally pick up my cakes so can't really comment on the delivery other than my wedding cake which was years ago. They had an issue finding the reception location, but called to say they were running late. Communication was there, so no complaints. read more

We loved working with David at Bamboo Bakery.  When we had our first meeting at the bakery, my husband and I were so entranced by the displays of all of the beautiful, whimsical cakes.  It felt like we were in a Willy Wonka cake factory.  It was clear that Bamboo Bakery was a very versatile and talented bakery. When we sat down with David to discuss the design, all I had to do was show him a few Pinterest photos, and before I even put my phone away, he had sketched exactly what I had envisioned.  Our cake was showstoppingly beautiful.  It was elegant and clean, and it made quite a statement.  Not to mention it was absolutely delicious!  I don't even eat sweets, but I had two leftover pieces last night, and will definitely be enjoying another one tonight.
