BEST SUGAR COOKIES EVER! My dad always got these for my family growing up and we live in Chandler! These were always my favorite and 15 years later still are! I love the soft cookies and the frosting is heavenly. Highly recommend people to try this bakery! Best quality and best tasting cookies ever. Very clean store and staff is also always friendly. Willingly will make the 40 minute drive for a cookie!

We purchased a cake out of their cake case, they added the finishing birthday details for us, the cake was delicious!

I've had bakery goods from Barb's many times over the years...mostly through work. Stopped to pick up 1/2 dozen cookies as a grad gift for a co-worker and we didn't call and order ahead of time. There were six decorated sugar cookies, butterflies and flowers, which actually were perfect. We all love the sugar cookies!!! First time I've actually been in the shop and wow! The smells alone were great and had I been going straight home, I would have purchased a few other yummy treats (like the cupcakes!) to take home for later. It's right down the street from work so I will make a stop when I'm in the office!

A tantalizing display of confections greet you. So many wonderful options to choose. I went buck wild since there for my bday. What better reason to splurge on some splendid desserts to take on a road trip. I ordered 2 red velvet cupcakes, a german chocolate, a orange dreamsicle oh my, pink champagne, a lemonberry, and a strawberry cheesecake. Then added a slice of pecan pie to go. I took a big sinfully delicious bite of the strawberry cheesecake and orange dreamsicle. Both were divine!! Soft and delicate and such great flavor! I think I found my new favorite bakery

    4 lil delicious cupcakes. :)

Been coming to this bakery for over 35 yrs... :) Can't say I just love one thing, everything is delicious! Today I picked up a pink champagne cupcake and a pineapple mini upside down cake.... Yummy!

Gooey cake wasn't esp. gooey, kind of light and airy, nothing overpowering.

My brother picked up some eclairs, mouse/ganache cups and a "gooey cake" for our dad's birthday celebration--YUM! Couldn't finish more than 1/2 of any of the yummies in one sitting, super rich and super delish. Bakery is way far from where we live, but when in the area again we'll def. stop in for a treat.

Went back to Barb's for another birthday cake challenge. This time, it was a replica of my dog. The cake was delicious - orange cream cake with chocolate filling and chocolate fondant; unique! The ears were not cake pops but rather cardboard wrapped in fondant. For such an expensive price $$$$, the ears should have been cake. The nose is not shaped correctly and is missing the unique white stripe down his nose. However, I will let you decide if the cake resembles my dog. ;-)

I wanted a Taylor Swift themed cake for my daughter turning 21. I called on a Friday and they were able to deliver the perfect cake for my daughter on Monday. Looked exactly how I wanted it to and tasted amazing..red velvet. Thank you.

The closest you can get to the real deal! We chose raspberry filling!

I am obsessed with Barb's Bakery!! They made the cupcakes for my baby shower, cookies for a friend's wedding shower, and most recently, we purchased a super authentic King's Cake from them to celebrate Mardi Gras! Their baked good are absolute perfection, they team is always friendly, and to say that we're satisfied each time we go is a understatement. It's more like blown away! I'm not usually a huge fan of King's Cake but my father-in-law's birthday fell on Mardi Gras this year, so we got one for the fun of it. You guys, I really enjoyed this one!! Plan ahead and order one next year, you won't be disappointed! They even let you choose your filling. We went with raspberry and it was delish! Anyways, place your custom bakery orders with Barb's--you'll come back time and time again!

I've been multiple times for cupcakes and cake. I like that they open very early. If you have an emergency and need a cake they have available ones that can be personalized a bit. Their cupcake selection is great. Overall I enjoy them but I don't think they're out of this world good. They have other baked items like cinnamon rolls, macaroons. Service is good.

    Amazing treats!

It was my first time trying it and the combination of a warm cookie with ice cream was perfect. The ice cream melted into the toppings and made every bite so good! There is a nice variety of sweet treats, and the service provided by the team inside the truck was stellar. One of our student organizations was hosting The Scookie Bar, and after walking around their event, you could score a ticket for a complimentary Scookie. As we pre-ordered so many as incentives for our students, I thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, something wasn't set up properly so we didn't have the cookies themselves, but we did have sundaes. We had six options to decide between. I went with The Standard consisting of vanilla ice cream, chocolate chips, and chocolate sauce, and on a normal day, there would have bene a chocolate chip cookie, too. The other five options included the Chocolate Lover, The Celebration, The Signature, Reese's Lover, and The VNA. While I enjoyed the sundae, I'm sure it would have been even better with the cookie included. The Scookie Bar is "where the scoop met the cookie" and serves freshly baked, warm deep-dish skillet cookies also known as scookies. They have a location at The Churchill in Downtown Phoenix, though I would assume I would more regularly see them when their food truck stops by ASU. Their Churchill location is closed on Monday but open Tuesday through Friday from 5-10 PM and Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 10 PM. If you want to order catering, it includes 2 hours of service and a 100 scookie minimum. They can provide a Build Your Own Menu where guests can choose the cookie, ice cream, and toppings, or they can choose from the Signature Scookie Menu which is what ASU did. They have been operating since 2016 in Phoenix. Now that I realize that I was missing the chocolate chip cookie, I need to try it again with that included! I definitely recommend this sweet treat to others.

I can't speak on the customer service as we never left our table and our waited just walked over and got what we needed. We were pretty stuffed from our massive meal, but we decided on sharing a cup of gelato just to satisfy our sweet tooth. I peeked inside as our table was right at a little walkway from the restaurant to the bakery. Gelato is just one of many things they serve here. They also have all your typical Italian desserts. Cakes like tiramisu, pastries like Italian flag cookies, cookies like Italian wedding cookies, cannolis of different varieties, and of course gelato. What was suggested to us if we wanted gelato was the hazelnut flavor. I was expecting a little cup for the 6 of us just to get a taste, but what he brought over was a massive serving. I don't know how many scoops it was or even how much we even paid, but we all got plenty with some even left behind. Now this gelato was life changing. Probably the best I've had in the states. I know it's gotta be way better in Italy, but I'll take what I can when I can. Think of a Ferrero Rocher but in gelato form. It was delicious and I couldn't get enough of it. It wasn't overly sweet and it had a little crunch with bits of chocolate and hazelnuts. My sweet tooth was extremely satisfied after having dessert here. I have literally been thinking about that gelato since I left Phoenix. Luckily this company has locations in Texas so I will definitely be seeking out this gelato soon.

Have a meal at The Sicilian Butcher and then follow that up with dessert at The Sicilian Baker. There are several locations in town, with this one being in North Phoenix. On my most recent visit, I stopped by on a Thursday. Parking tends to be busy in their complimentary lot, but you'll find a spot. Ambiance (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is connected to The Sicilian Butcher. It's a small bakery, with only a few seats. More of a grab-and-go type of spot or the source of your dessert if you're dining at the restaurant. While small, the decor and ambiance is nice. Service (3/5): A little bit of bad luck, but on my most recent visit, they were having trouble with their refrigeration so no gelato was available. While interacting with the staff, it was an average experience. I will say that the service was much better in the restaurant. Drinks (N/A): I only got dessert, but they do have coffee and a few other beverages available. Food (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is known for its cannolis, tiramisu, gelato, and lobster claws (dessert, not real lobster haha). On my most recent visit, I had a cannoli. They have your classic cannoli but also a nice variety of other fillings including pistachio, Reese's, and more. A+ for creativity, though I decided to stick with the classic. Solid. In fact, all of the desserts I've had here over the years have been quite good.

It's smooth, rich without being too heavy, and the flavor actually develops as you eat it instead of just being one-note sweet. You can tell they take this part seriously. Leave it outside the fridge for an hour and watch that cheesecake melt on your tongue crystals (if you have the patience for that) Their rotating monthly flavors keeps things interesting, and you're not just stuck with the same lineup every time. Out of what I tried, the banana pudding one was easily a standout--super nostalgic, creamy, and just done right without being overly sweet. The coconut one was also up there, more subtle but still really clean and flavorful. Love me some coconut! They also have a punch card system--buy 9 slices, get the 10th free--which is a nice touch. It lowkey turns into a mission because once you've tried one flavor, you kinda want to work your way through all of them anyway. Now...the downside. The customer service just isn't great. It's not aggressive or anything, just noticeably lacking. There's not much warmth or engagement--it feels pretty transactional. For a place that clearly puts effort into their product, you'd expect at least a baseline level of hospitality, and it's just not really there. So overall, if you're going to Banhams, go for the cheesecake. The rotating flavors keep it fresh, the quality is legit, and it's definitely worth trying. Just don't expect much from the service side, and you'll enjoy it a lot more.
