I stopped here on my way to work and bought a ham & cheese croissant, a spinach and feta pastry and a blueberry bagel. Also four cupcakes. My co-workers and I shared the pastries and I can personally say the savory ones were very delicious. The cupcakes were good, though not the best I've ever had. I tried carrot cake, the pink one, orange dreamcicle and lemon raspberry. Nicely sweet, big pile of frosting on top, and attractive in appearance. I found the price to be fair, the shop to be clean and with lots of variety (I had a hard time choosing just 4 cupcakes) and there was easy parking out front. I've had bakery goods from Barb's many times over the years...mostly through work. Stopped to pick up 1/2 dozen cookies as a grad gift for a co-worker and we didn't call and order ahead of time. There were six decorated sugar cookies, butterflies and flowers, which actually were perfect. We all love the sugar cookies!!! First time I've actually been in the shop and wow! The smells alone were great and had I been going straight home, I would have purchased a few other yummy treats (like the cupcakes!) to take home for later. It's summer, we all know that. I stopped by the store thinking it was open, closing time 3:00 pm, but they are on summer hours and they close at 2:00 pm. A nice lady waited for me to get out of my vehicle and said they were closed. I kindly asked her to help me and she did. I asked if she is the owner, she said no, she works there. Her name is Norma, and I really appreciated her willingness to help, even if it was after closing time. Customer service it's not just a slogan for Barb's. It's what they do. My son got married on a very short notice and I needed a cake. I called Barbs bakery and spoke to Vanessa who got me set up with a cake the same day. It was wonderful. They went Above and beyond getting the cake prepared for us to pick up for the restaurant the same day. I've had 2 cakes and a mouse from here, and none of them were bad at all. But mostly, I felt like they were average. The workers were all incredibly nice. The cakes are pretty cute. I will say I liked the carrot cake. It was tasty. I ordered a second cake that was pink champagne and it was just okay. The mousse I didn't really like, I thought it would be a tan lighter. I tried the strawberry cheesecake cupcakes as well. I think that was the flavor and thought I'd love it, but it tasted a little artificial to me. Went back to Barb's for another birthday cake challenge. This time, it was a replica of my dog. The cake was delicious - orange cream cake with chocolate filling and chocolate fondant; unique! The ears were not cake pops but rather cardboard wrapped in fondant. For such an expensive price $$$$, the ears should have been cake. The nose is not shaped correctly and is missing the unique white stripe down his nose. However, I will let you decide if the cake resembles my dog. ;-) read more

They did cookies for our daughter's wedding welcome bags which were terrific and much better priced than three other custom cookie companies we got quotes from and their service was personable and accommodating. Food items are being reused multiple days. Stale. The staff is also rude. It also feels like they only like certain types of customers.

The store front bakery is fine, but it isn't spectacular. We went in today, and the employees looked like they were trying to be nice, but they weren't overly friendly. We have a party coming up, so we tried a bunch of different options to see what would be good for a dessert table, and after trying them all, we weren't very impressed. Now, I will say their cookies are fantastic and we have had them many times in the past. But the cupcakes...they are small and they lack flavor. They tasted like a poor quality boxed cake, and the frosting was melting off. The frosting tasted like a mix between a whipped cream and buttercream, and not in a good way. We also tried the brownies, which tasted like the Cosmic brownies you can buy in the package at the grocery store. We couldn't eat them. And the lemon bars also tasted like generic lemon bars that were gelatinous, with an inedible crust. It is clear what this bakery excels at. I pass this place almost daily on my way to work. A few months ago I finally stopped and I'm glad I did. Their pastries are delicious. Last time I noticed they have ham and cheese croissants and today I stopped for one. They were out so I got a spinach and feta croissant and it was very good. This review is to show the unprofessionalism and lack of responsibility by management and ownership for a cake we received for our engagement party on 12/20/19. The cake was simple, we provided them a picture and they said yes we can do it. Two tiers, all white with our initials on the top. Couldn't be any easier. They charged us $350 for the cake and $50 delivery charge. Before I wrote this review I did attempt to email the shop but received no reply. The cake tasted good and the bottom part of the cake was good. Unfortunately the top was not. The unprofessionalism and lack of care for small details was surprising from such a well known bakery. I have attached pictures of the review to show. Both the example and what was done. If you can't do it just say you can't. It was very embarrassing to have a cake with initials that looked like they were drawn by a toddler. I expected 5 star work for $400.... read more
