I found Cakes by Stiggy on Yelp a few years ago and have since ordered two children's birthday cakes, the most recent a couple of months ago. Both times I sent inspiration photos, and Ryan was quick to communicate and work within my budget. The cakes were adorable, tasted great, impressed my guests, and most importantly, my kids loved them! read more

Ordered a 2 tier Mexican themed cake for my grandmas 100th bday! The bottom was a lemon cake with raspberry filling and buttercream frosting. The top was a dark chocolate cake with mint ganache and mint buttercream frosting. Literally the BEST CAKE EVER!! The cake design was super cute, and it matched the theme perfectly!! He nailed the design. And everyone at the party took pics of the cake since it was so stinkin cute!! My grandma loved it too! Even the Uber driver was super impressed-she took a biz card off the box so she could order one soon. And the cake itself was amazing, everyone loved it!!! Great flavor and very moist! By bf (who is not a cake guy at all) said it was his FAV cake he's ever had!! So I would absolutely encourage you to get a cake from Stiggy-he was easy to work with (and I changed my mind on flavors, design and pick up times a couple times) and the cake was still ready when I needed it to be!! read more

We've ordered 3 cakes from them over the past year and every single one was amazing! All had great flavor and were beautifully made. Very reasonably priced for the quality compared to other bakeries we looked at. We're already regulars at this point and don't see that changing anytime soon. Highly recommend! read more

This master baker is fabulous! I ordered a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, a depiction of my son's face and 'news feed' about him around the outside. I also ordered a dozen vanilla cupcakes with eyes on them. Ryan, who was incredibly good to work with ,took the ball and ran with it. I was running late the day I was to pick it up but he was nonplused and brought everything to the car. It had all been fully chilled so I didn't have to worry about it 'melting' before I got to the party, All the guests were very complimentary about the look and taste of both the cake and the cupcakes. I didn't think about taking pictures until after the party ( oh no!) but Ryan had pictures and graciously shared them with me. I absolutely will order from him in the near future. I encourage you to also! read more

I would have given them 5 stars, but they lost a star when I asked 5 times, what was their address to pick up the cake! They never advised me until it was time to literally pick up the cake. People need to know early, so that they can preplan their driving route! Thoughtless! read more

I ordered a custom birthday cake and was absolutely amazed by the result. I gave them a long list of personal details about the birthday girl's life--her years playing softball, her time doing singing telegrams, being the only female Sparky mascot at Arizona State University, her little bright yellow Honda Civic, and her beloved cabin--and they turned all of it into a beautiful and fun cake design. It was like a visual biography of her life in cake form. Every element was thoughtfully represented and the whole cake looked fantastic. Beyond the design, the cake itself was delicious. Our entire group loved it. They truly listened to what I asked for and executed it perfectly. If you want a bakery that can take a creative idea and turn it into something special, I highly recommend them. read more

This is my go-to place for custom cakes! Ryan has done two cakes for me and both were exactly what I requested! He is prompt in returning texts/calls and asks questions to ensure he understands what is being requested. He even recommends flavors, sizing, etc. to get the perfect cake! Also, his cakes are delicious and he is reasonably priced! Recently I had an issue with having to put an event "on hold," and he was so understanding and accommodating! Sooo glad I found him on Yelp! I can't say enough good things about Ryan! Call him when you need a cake for a special event - you'll be glad you did! read more

I echo other reviewers who have had a poor experience with communication. After receiving a confirmation email that Ryan could help me, we exchanged a couple of emails to go over design. I should have noticed the red flags..there were long delays in response time and I had to follow up. In every email, I expressed my appreciation and excitement that a custom cake could be made in a short time frame for my husband's 60th birthday. I provided my phone number and suggested in every email that I'd be available to talk through the design. In none of my emails did I give the impression that I was shopping the cake around to other vendors or that I wasn't interested. The cake was needed for a Monday. On the Tuesday before, Ryan sent me an email confirming he could make the cake. I immediately emailed back with enthusiasm and provided design suggestions, again offered to talk on the phone, and asked for pick up instructions. At that point it was crickets. No response. Nothing...until Sunday night (night before the birthday) when Ryan emailed me and said he hadn't heard back from me. What? really? I forwarded my last email back to Ryan. He claims he responded to it but sent the email to a different customer. Not sure how that happens when you hit "reply" in an email... I'm headed now to pick up a cake at Albertsons. They were very easy to work with and I know I'll have a cake in hand for my husband's dinner. Ryan has gorgeous cake photos and some great reviews so he must be corresponding timely with some customers...sadly I'm not one of them. read more

Absolute 5 star experience working with the talented Ryan. WOW! We ordered our sons's cake for his birthday celebration and shared our vision and overall theme. To say Ryan delivered would be an understatement. He went above and beyond on the quality, taste, and service. My husband and I, our son, and all our guests, were floored with the result. And it is by far, one of the best tasting cakes I've ever had. My new 1 year old agrees (he happily obliterated his smash cake). This cake is amazing! I needed a very special cake for my nephew's 18th birthday. He hates mushrooms with a passion, so I thought why not a cake shaped like one? :-D It was chocolate cake with chocolate cream frosting and everyone loved it. They were extremely easy to work with and communicated well through the entire process. They even sent me sample photos so I could choose how I wanted the cake to look. I was even impressed with how they managed to get it in a box for transport with the little top sticking out! read more

This was my first time ordering a custom cake and I didn't know what to expect. Communication was super seamless. From their website I sent a request, heard back in about a day and from there everything was made clear. I also really appreciate that they deliver as I wasn't able to pick up the cake and they are very careful with the delivery. The cake: everyone was in awe with how well the cake looked in comparison to what the character should look like. And to top it off it didn't just look good, it tasted amazing as well. Ordered a fairly last-minute chocolate German cake for my son's birthday. The flavor was great and the cake was perfectly light and airy.

One thing I appreciated here was how they separated dine-in and takeout areas to keep things tidy. I got a slice of strawberry cheesecake creamy, rich, and topped with fresh fruit. They served it on a proper ceramic plate with a clean spoon. Staff wiped down chairs and menus between customers. The air didn't smell of oil or fryer smoke just fresh pastry. The whole shop felt well looked after. read more

The reviews are no joke. Ryan was awesome to deal with and the cake turned out magnificent! I had gotten this cake because I had always wanted like a fancy birthday cake. I'm glad I went with them because the cake is adorable and delicious. I had to save the fish for later because I didn't want to cut into them. They were able to take the sketch and reference photos I gave them and make it real. I've stared at these photos for a while, and I was so pumped to get home to see it.And for the money, you really can't beat them. I asked several other bakeries for quotes, and I would have either paid twice as much, or I would have either had to order a month in advance for basic designs. The fish on top is even made of cake, so it's a lot of cake! And it's good cake too. I got german chocolate and it's really good the coconut filling was very coconutty and had lovely texture. They were very easy to work with. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a custom cake!!! They did amazing!! read more
