This master baker is fabulous! I ordered a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, a depiction of my son's face and 'news feed' about him around the outside. I also ordered a dozen vanilla cupcakes with eyes on them. Ryan, who was incredibly good to work with ,took the ball and ran with it. I was running late the day I was to pick it up but he was nonplused and brought everything to the car. It had all been fully chilled so I didn't have to worry about it 'melting' before I got to the party, All the guests were very complimentary about the look and taste of both the cake and the cupcakes. I didn't think about taking pictures until after the party ( oh no!) but Ryan had pictures and graciously shared them with me. I absolutely will order from him in the near future. I echo other reviewers who have had a poor experience with communication. After receiving a confirmation email that Ryan could help me, we exchanged a couple of emails to go over design. I should have noticed the red flags..there were long delays in response time and I had to follow up. In every email, I expressed my appreciation and excitement that a custom cake could be made in a short time frame for my husband's 60th birthday. I provided my phone number and suggested in every email that I'd be available to talk through the design. In none of my emails did I give the impression that I was shopping the cake around to other vendors or that I wasn't interested. The cake was needed for a Monday. On the Tuesday before, Ryan sent me an email confirming he could make the cake. I immediately emailed back with enthusiasm and provided design suggestions, again offered to talk on the phone, and asked for pick up instructions. At that point it was crickets. No response. Nothing...until Sunday night (night before the birthday) when Ryan emailed me and said he hadn't heard back from me. What? really? I forwarded my last email back to Ryan. He claims he responded to it but sent the email to a different customer. Not sure how that happens when you hit "reply" in an email... I'm headed now to pick up a cake at Albertsons. They were very easy to work with and I know I'll have a cake in hand for my husband's dinner. Ryan has gorgeous cake photos and some great reviews so he must be corresponding timely with some customers...sadly I'm not one of them. read more

I had gotten this cake because I had always wanted like a fancy birthday cake. I'm glad I went with them because the cake is adorable and delicious. I had to save the fish for later because I didn't want to cut into them. They were able to take the sketch and reference photos I gave them and make it real. I've stared at these photos for a while, and I was so pumped to get home to see it.And for the money, you really can't beat them. I asked several other bakeries for quotes, and I would have either paid twice as much, or I would have either had to order a month in advance for basic designs.
