These guys are amazing, if you are looking for a tree trimmer I highly recommend this company. I had them cut down a tree, trim 5 trees they were in and out in less than an hour. They cleaned up everything you would never know that they were even here. When Roland came to give me a quote he was punctual and when they came to work they were right on time. Got A&J Tree Service's information from our neighbor and had a great experience. They responded quickly, provided an estimate, and showed up right on time. When I first started looking for someone to trim my trees, I asked for recommendations on Nextdoor and local Facebook groups, but I only received spam and advertisements. I tried contacting a few companies I found there, but none of them even replied. I then decided to search on Google and reached out to a few options, including A&J. I ended up getting quotes from three different companies. A&J stood out because they provided a quote that was very reasonable--not too low, not too high--and they were the most responsive throughout the entire process. They also took the time to explain everything about my trees in great detail, which made them the most trustworthy choice. They were incredibly punctual and did an amazing job cleaning up what had essentially become a jungle in our front yard, exactly as they promised. Having gone through many home renovation projects in the past, I now automatically filter out any company that is difficult to reach, so I really appreciated their professionalism. I am so satisfied with their work that I plan to hire A&J for all my tree trimming needs every year. Thank you so much! read more

We've been using A&J Tree Service for about 2 1/2 years now, and Rolando has been our go-to ever since. He's always professional, reliable, and consistently does great work. Most recently, I asked if he could trim our Chinese Pistache tree to look like a photo I had -- something with a clean, balanced shape (see second photo). The first photo shows how the tree looked in September 2024, and the third photo was just taken tonight. The transformation is incredible. It now looks almost exactly like the inspiration picture, even down to the way the branches stick out slightly on the left side. The fact that they also offer fair pricing just makes the decision that much easier. Rolando and his team always show up, do what they say, and take pride in their work. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality tree service. read more

The guys with A & J did an awesome job with the tree over my home. We had a huge Oak Tree that went over my home that the insurance said needed to be removed. Rolando helped me out with the Oak Tree Report and the permit for the county free of charge. His guys were very professional and made sure my home was protected during the whole process. I'll absolutely be using them again when I need more work done. read more

We've been using A & J for over 10 years. Those with Carrotwood trees know it's a nice looking evergreen tree that does well in SoCal, but it also needs regular trimming to keep it off your roof and not over the neighbor's property. Also, with the Santa Ana winds, it needs thinning to reduce its resistance to the wind. A & J does both expertly and they are very professional. read more

A & J Tree Service - 25 yr-old Carrotwood - Tree Services Near Me - Pomona, California

Called for a quote Tuesday night on tree removal and they came Wednesday morning to look at the work needed. After getting a handful of quotes I decided to go with A&J as I felt they were willing to put a little more work into the removal of the tree stump to ensure it does not grow back. They came today, Thursday and in less than an hour had the tree gone. They will be back in 2 months to see how the stump is doing after applying chemicals to deteriorate it and grind out the stump at that time. The entire team was very nice and quick!! In less than 48 hours our tree is gone! read more

Absolutely fantastic! True professional arborists who know how to trim trees without damaging them. I hired A & J to trim my large juniper tree that was drooping on one side with a branch on the ground. They removed all the low hanging branches and opened up the inside of the tree to allow more light to come through. They don't top trees, which only weakens them. Extremely knowledgeable about the best care to keep your trees healthy & strong. They cleaned up everything. I'll definitely hire them again for future projects and recommend them to my neighbors! read more

Our neighbors had their trees trimmed. We have a large beautiful ash tree on our property, and some of the branches extend over the fence onto their property. Without anyone contacting us whatsoever, they completely butchered our beautiful tree right up to the property line and all the way to the top, damaging the tree. Now we need to do a corrective pruning on our side, (to the tune of $1000) so that the tree grows back properly. However, it will be years before this tree once again looks full and gives shade to not only my home, but the neighbors home as well. I have contacted numerous tree trimming companies and sent them the pictures and they are appalled that any legit tree trimmer would do such a thing. Never use this company. read more

Definitely professionals, experienced and great service! I want to thank Rolando and Don Armando for the great service they provided in such short notice. We had 2 big trees that had to go because they were close to service lines, Rolando came out and gave me an estimate that same day. The next day Rolando and his crew took care of business, had all the equipment needed and left everything clean, even the neighbors were happy with the work they did. I highly recommend! They did a great job! This a honest and professional crew who leaves areas clean and well done. They removed about 12 or more very large pine trees that had been never trimmed since 1986 when they were planted. Stumps were also grinded . Honest and close like brothers, They also went on to do several other trees that were just trimmed, Prices were also good. Thank you for all your hard work, Rolando read more

I had to remove two palm trees in my yard. They were not tall but blocked natural lights. I contacted Rolando and he gave me an estimate next day. I compared the price in the area and Aj's price was competitive. I told Rolando that I want to get it done asap. He said he can come the same day. In 3 hours, he came with his crews. They climbed up the tree and cut from the top. And they ground the root. My house now has much better views and natural lights. I am very happy with A&J's service and will use them again if I have any tree work. read more

Best tree service ever! I have a very large pine tree in my front yard, and I need to be trimmed and thinned out. I called Angie tree service, and Roland came out the next day and gave me a quote, which also included blowing the Pine needles off my roof and gutters. Rolando and his crew just finished sprucing up 24 palm trees around the perimeter of our yard and thinning out a large tree in the front yard. They were prompt, professional and tidy. I will definitely be recommending them to neighbors etc and keeping their number close by for any and all tree work. read more

Absolutely the Best!! Roland and his team removed our 30 year old Mulberry tree today. We've used A&J Tree Service before. Here's why we'll continue to do so: 1. Their prices are competitive. We got three bids. A&J was the most reasonable. 2. They arrive ON TIME and get right to work!! 3. Everyone on the team is personable, polite and professional. 4. They use safe practices. They tie off when they are in the tree and they have spotters on the ground. 5. They work efficiently and clean up when they are done. 6. They don't give you any B.S. They just get the job done. read more

This tree company is amazing. Rolando, the owner is very truthful with his words. Their workmanship on a tree is the best I have seen. They deliver the best customer service. Amazing! Is the word that truly describes the hard work and ingenuity that Roland and his crew displayed while cutting down 5 HUGE pine trees from our property today. The crew arrived early on time and quickly went about in setting up the area laying plywood throughout the area to protect the turf we installed in our yard. Despite difficulties in finding ideal on street parking, Roland and his crew managed to navigate their equipment to cut down and remove the five trees without damaging fencing on both sides of our neighbors yards. When we met Roland for the first time he arrived early and surveyed the work area and clearly explained the difficulties posed by the size and location of the pine trees in relation to our neighbors ... and he provided us a fair price and prompt start date for the work. We will recommend A&J Tree Service without reservations to Yelp subscribers, our neighbors and friends, THAT'S how impressed we were with the job they did. Mahalo Nui Loa! ( Thank You!) I felt comfortable with A&J Tree Service from the very beginning. Every appointment was kept and on time. I got multiple quotes to grind two stumps. One yucca and one palm. Both are soft and easy to do with perfect access. The quote I got from A & J is ridiculously high. Here's the quote. "Hello Robert, for stump grinding we charge $10 a diameter inch. And we grind down 4-6" below grade." There isn't a tree service anywhere in the country, that I could find with a good Google search, that gets more money for less work than this. Every other company will either grind 12-18 inches or until they see dirt. The good quotes are $300-350. The high is $500. A & J would be over $1,000 for MUCH LESS work and grinding and the yucca is likely to grow back. I would have to be truly stupid to go with this quote over other licensed bonded companies that have bid this job and been generous with there knowledge and expertise and that wold do a better job at grinding below grade and hauling away the mulch. As Forest Gump says, "stupid is as stupid does". read more

Great service! Fast, efficient, and reasonably priced. I needed a huge tree removed from the front yard, and after getting several estimates decided to go with A & J. They came right on time and got right down to work. Roland and crew were fast! They commenced removing this enormous tree in the morning and were completely finished by the early afternoon! I've had other huge trees removed by other tree services, and those guys took all day. Roland mentioned he has all the right equipment for the jobs, and good help-I couldn't agree more! The workers also did an amazing clean up job before they left. I am very pleased with them and would definitely use them again, and recommend them highly! read more

A+service! The gentleman is a true arborist, he is fair, honest and thorough. We had our palms previously trimmed by, what we know now to be, an incompetent man with a chainsaw. Unfortunately, because the palm on the left was trimmed incorrectly, it deformed when growing out and started to lean to the left. A & J advised us that he would try his best to save it but that he could not guarantee it. Its been about two months and our palm is alive and headed back in the right direction! Don't skimp on tree service, you'll regret it, A & J is awesome and the only tree service we'll use going forward. read more

I came in contact with A&J via the Angie's List "Snap Fix" iPhone app, their concierge set up an appointment for me with Roland. I was looking to get some palm trees trimmed and others removed. Roland showed up 10 minutes early on the scheduled day and gave me a very reasonable quote for the job. I was getting quotes from other companies on the same job but I decided to go with A&J because not only was their pricing reasonable, they have great business acumen. I was also very pleased to see that they are fully licensed, bonded and insured. The crew came out the same day and got the job done. They were very well organized and professional. They cleaned up after themselves and did a great job. Two of the palm trees they trimmed are right next to our pool and they managed to keep the mess contained, which was awesome. I already made an appointment with Roland for a couple of future projects. I recommend these guys. read more

I have used several different tree service companies over the years and A & J is my favorite. The owner, Roland, is very nice and easy to work with. He is very knowledgeable about trees. They have all the appropriate qualifications to do tree work. They do excellent work. They clean up well after themselves. I was surprised at how fast they got the job done. I don't think I could have gotten a significantly lower price unless I had gone with someone less qualified. After I called, they gave an estimate within a couple days and did the work a couple days after that. They recently trimmed two tall Queen Palms and removed a Carrotwood Tree which was a volunteer and was growing too close to a wall. I have used them twice before, in the past. read more
