I'm not very familiar with how pest control normally works, but I wasn't particularly impressed…read morewith our service (please enlighten me if what we saw was the norm). We'd been having a problem with mud daubers coming into our house, so I requested them come and see if they can find where they're potentially coming from. Our technician (I think his name was Trey, I'm horrible with names) came in, sprayed the basewall of the house, and didn't really say much about the issue. Afterwards he worked on the outside of the house, but I can at the very least tell that he missed a nest that I specifically told him about, and left without saying a word. (again, was expecting him to come in and give the run down of what he did / found, contacted cs and they left a note for the next technician to do this before leaving) We'll see if the issue still persists and probably call for a follow up if it does. At the very least customer service is quick and helpful with their response, and I'll update this review if the problem does not persist *update: They responded to our review with a follow up regarding the services provided. I received a call from Mike explaining what happened, and got a lesson in pests which was nice because googling was not as helpful as it could be. Trey came back and this time was more thorough with explaining to us what was going on, so pretty much my complaints were addressed.

Very responsive to questions and on time for every appointment. If need a retreat they are quick to…read moreconfirm and their customer portal is easy to use.

He was thorough, he was patient, the kindest contractor I think I've had around here in forever. I trusted him and trusted my home with him . An increase of flying insects started plaguing us recently. These weren't paper wasps that build…read moremud nests hanging from the eaves. No, instead, these were fast, yellowish insects that were making their home near the ground in the weeping holes between the bricks of our house RIGHT NEXT TO THE BACKYARD DOOR. The dogs were somewhat amused and tried catching them which we quickly admonished them for. Once we realized what was happening, we started researching how to solve the issue. Unfortunately we couldn't tell if they were bees or yellow jackets. They moved too fast for my phone camera to capture. Not knowing, we started doing some do-it-yourself control. My husband sprayed a foam into the weeping holes to block the entrance and got stung in the process. To my horror, the insects cleared the entrance by the next morning. By the way, it is not recommended to do this because yellow jackets will dig their way through the drywall and into your home if they a blocked from exiting to the outside. My husband also tried hanging one of those wasp pods with some sort of sugar water solution. Apparently the insects fly into the holes, but can't escape, so drown. Unfortunately, none showed up to the hanging hotel of death. Lastly, my husband poured Diatomaceous Earth (DE) in each of the weeping holes. The food grade version is safe for pets and humans to be near as long as you don't breath it in. It is used to kill ants and bugs with exoskeletons because the fine silica powder cuts and dehydrates them. A few days after application of the DE, the yellow jackets seemed to be just as busy as ever although making yet a new entry point even closer (within a few inches) of the back door. At this point, fear started to take over, and I decided to find a company that could handle this problem. Little Giant Beekeepers serves the DFW area. They have an A+ rating on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website, they have several decades of operational experience in the area, and they had no formal complaints against them. I called and someone answered right away. The woman asked me about the problem and the location. She then went over the inspection fee ($175) and minimum charge for service ($375) in the specific area that I had requested. If there were other locations around the house or yard, those would incur a separate minimum treatment charge. The inspection fee would only be charged if they came out for service, but found nothing to treat. If there was an issue, the inspection fee would be waived if a treatment was applied and paid. They have credit card reader on the phone that they can use for payment at the time of service. You can also pay via cash or check. Manuel showed up the very same day that I called for service. I called around 10 am, and he was onsite taking care of my problem by 1 pm. He texted me beforehand. We talked on the phone, and he gave me a timeline of when he would arrive. Once on site, I showed him the area. He told me I had yellow jackets and then explained that he would use a powder and place it in each of the holes where they were entering/exiting. He geared up in a bee hood and wore protective long sleeves (white) and gloves. It didn't take long at all. Afterwards, he discussed that I need to leave the area alone for the next 24 hours and keep the dogs away from it too. Once the insects stop showing up, I need to spray water on the patio area in front of the brick weeping holes and take a sponge and some dish soap to wash the area down. He said to NOT spray water into the holes. The treatment needs to stay viable in the holes for the next two weeks because there is a good chance that there is nest with babies. Once they hatch in the coming weeks, they will die too because of the treatment still inside the holes. I'm still a little nervous and will be on edge for the next few weeks hoping that all of this will be a distant nightmare that I won't have to relive. Manuel showed me how the insects were already dying as they were trying to leave the weeping holes. I have faith that the BBB site and Yelp reviews have steered me to a company that has helped me in record time. Hopefully you will never have to deal with this, but if you do, call LGB to solve your problem.
