Super easy rental and very nice service. Needed same day, within the hour rental and they called me one minute after I did the online form.

Monique was super friendly and helpful! She gave us a tour of the property and a variety of units. She was very transparent about pricing and gave us the same pricing as the deals online. It is very clean and secure which drew us to this place and we are excited and confident in our decision to move in. read more

I was one of the first tenants in this facility and I have always been pleased with the facility and staff. I recently needed a second unit and Monique was incredibly helpful in showing me a few different options on the same floor and facilitated a smooth transition into it. Thank you. read more

My wife and I just moved the San Diego from Texas. We rented a storage unit here and I can say both renting a unit and the continued help, professionalism, friendliness from Monique has been Stellar! She absolutely loves her job, you can see her always walking the grounds, keeping the facility clean and still has to navigate around the continued surrounding homeless issue with their erratic behaviors, wow she has a job and deserves all recognition and much appreciation. It rare to see people take pride in their work and professionalism, she is a rare gem! This facility is very clean/ spotless and works perfectly to store our furniture while we looked for a house. Thank you very much Monique, you made this process very seamless for us! read more

This place RAWKS! Monique was super helpful. The spaces are very secure, apartment and with cameras. The hours of access are better than others. I highly recommend this storage facility, as over rented from several others all over the country and this is by far my favorite. The prices are great as well. read more

I was so impressed with the staff. The manager was very helpful. It's nice to know my things are secure.

I had my experience with one of the employees there named Monique. She was super friendly and welcoming. She seemed very well versed and knowledgeable about the business and what she could do for me. She helped me find a suitable storage unit which suited my needs and seem to multitask very well. I didn't mind waiting for her to take a call and I observed her very courteous over the phone. I really enjoyed meeting her and I left feeling safe that my belongings were secure, the facility seemed clean, well stocked and maintained. I really enjoyed her smile and vibe. I've already recommended a few friends in the Navy who have storage needs to come and talk to Miss Monique. read more

The best experience I've had storing my mother's furniture. Monique was so helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend using A1 and make sure to ask for Monique she's amazing. read more

Just rented! Clean and easy thus far!!! Location is very convenient. Easier to get in and out of than I thought.

The storage facility is clean and well maintained, but they have raised the monthly prices three times in the last 18 months. It's your typical bait and switch from initial pricing I agree to pay. I would look at other facilities. read more

Mayra was amazing, helpful & got us into a storage immediately. The rate was best lower than location in the area

If you need storage come here! Nice staff clean facility safe. Would 10/10 recommend this place for storage!

The PB location is by far the cleanest, and great customer service. Mayra and Monique are amazing and very helpful. I will be recommending this loction. read more

Incredible rates!!! When I was in transition moving from bird rock to north county San Diego, I needed to store my belongings somewhere temporarily. All the rates at other places were absolutely outrageous, and unreasonable in my opinion. A-1 storage was the best!! The facility is new and it's super clean. There is camera security and pin code access only into the facility. There are Dolly's to move heavier boxes and objects. Elevator access is super convenient and large. The lock system is safe and I always felt safe coming here. The staff is caring and helpful and everything can be processed online. I highly HIGHLY recommend this place! read more

Very friendly staff and easy to sign up. Perfect location for us to store our things until we move into a new house. Very safe and well lit.

[Updates] I received the call from Robert, their area manager, and they agreed to refund me and I have received the refund. Although there is still a miss on the refund amount, it's more acceptable than how they handled this before. read more

Wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! Some moving friendly tips: forget the U-Haul!! This location in PB Offers a truck for your use (call for pricing & availability) but it saved me so much time (and money). Thankfully, I went to check out the unit/sign paper work before going to U-Haul to pick up the truck. In the parking lot, I noticed a truck that said "we move you free". While checking in, I asked Jennifer what that was all about. It's a new service that this location is offering -- with a dolly. Saved me from having to go back and fourth. I called and cancelled the U-Haul immediately. Another trip... if you're on a time crunch, go and do all the paperwork and see where your unit is before moving. That way, when you come back, just use your user-friendly code to access the flatbed Dolly's and move your things into your unit. I called around to other A1 locations and this was the cheapest (different locations = different prices on units). The rep I spoke to on the phone let me have the internet price (which is cheaper than walking in). Jennifer and her coworker were beyond helpful and made my move into the storage unit easy!! Clean unit. And awesome 80s music through out the facility. I got a medium sized unit. The main reason for getting a unit was because of my queen size mattress. That, along with the box spring fit in my unit with plenty of storage space around. (I only had 1bedroom worth of stuff). -- Thanks l again Jennifer for all of your help!!! read more

I had to leave A-1 storage a review because I was so impressed with their services and the facility. I moved abroad from San Diego and stored my items with them for 18 months. Moving in was easy, they communicated as needed while I was away, and I just came back last week to all of my storage just as I found it. Jennifer helped me out initially and she was fantastic. The facility itself is incredibly clean and new; I definitely felt that my belongings were safe and secure. The prices are also very fair--I did substantive research. I truly cannot say enough good things about this company and this facility in particular. If/when I leave the country again I plan on using them again! Thank you so much for your help!! (: read more

We were in a pinch, and needed storage space on short notice. We compared a few nearby properties. After visiting A-1, the decision was easy - it is clean, secure, and well managed. The folks working in the office were very helpful. They made a stressful situation a bit easier! Helpful tip - check in on Yelp to receive a free lock. read more

A-1 Self Storage - Moving boxes!!! All sizes, save if you buy 10 or more. - Self Storage Near Me - San Diego, California

Excellent value for the price, convenience, and peace of mind, knowing you can pre-pack (in our case, we needed to clear things out from 2 sheds in our backyard in a property we rent). I have been able to do 2 small loads in my car within 30 minutes starting at 6:15 am. We live 4 minutes away from A-1. Pre-load your car the night before, know what your next load is, then go! Rolling flatbed carts are available at A-1. Even when I am the only one at the storage, the 80's jams playing inside the building is nice. I think if it were silent, it might be creepy, so keep the music! =) And a clean and modern bathroom is available next to the office if you need it. The staff inside are very friendly and accommodating. We started with a 10X15 on the 3rd floor and within 24 hours, realized we needed more space. We were able to get a 10x30 on the 1st floor and moved everything from one storage to another in 2 and a half hours (3 people). You are given 24 hours to make the move. We had plenty of time! Tips: Availability is 6 am - 10 pm everyday. Sonic parking spots are available in the A-1 entrance if needed. You are allowed to make a left hand turn from Balboa Ave into A-1, crossing a double yellow line because you ARE entering a business. Thank you to Jenn in the office for letting me know this!! read more

I rented a small storage unit here for 7 months. Nearly all of the staff was courteous and kind every time I needed them. The facility is very clean and well maintained. It is a little difficult to access because of the wretched PB traffic on Garnet if you are coming from the beach but there eventually is a break in the traffic. Rates seem fair and overall it was a positive experience. read more

Awesome experience using this location, would recommend to anyone looking for storage! All of the reps over the phone were prompt and friendly. Also, Evan, who helped me at the front desk of this location was INCREDIBLE! Also, over all the facility is clean and new and kept up very nicely. Elevators are fast and in good condition.
