I have been bringing my cars to A1 for regular maintenance for a few years now. Until recently Mundo was always the person who helped me out. I always made morning appointments was generally in and out in 45 minutes or less. The lounge has free wifi, tv, and ample seating area. I was recently informed that Mundo was no longer w the company and I believe that Gary has taken oven for him. I don't have too much experience working w Gary so this review mostly does not apply to him. However, Gary does seem pretty strict on company policies and mentioned that the company has gotten very strict about certain policies for car maintenance recently. The prices here are pretty decent. I came in for an oil change I had gotten a Groupon for and they had my car finished in the time quoted. That's not why I'm giving them 5 stars. Past experience had taught me to check my hubcaps before leaving any auto shop (mistakes happen, hubcaps aren't real sturdy), and sure enough one of them was not quite right and definitely would have fallen off on the way home. I first used A-1 Automotive after I got a coupon on groupon to get my oil changed. However, I always went to the dealership for things that needed to be taken care of with my Honda. Unfortunately after spending 1700.00 my problem still existed so I took it to A1 automotive, I explained the situation what with the car was doing. The vibration was so bad that I would put my car in neutral at a stoplight, because I couldn't stand it. So I took it in and Octavio , the one who worked on it, identified the situation changed it and voila, no more vibration, it was fixed!! When you take something in, you expect perhaps that you will get an upsell and I did, but it was an upsell that was necessary because my tires were pretty shot... No pressure!!!! He just explained it, gave me a quote and he checked some other things for me. So yes, I did get new tires... I spend most of my days in my car driving. So I'm glad that he did that upsell to me.And now I have confidence and comfort in my car. Thank you, Gary, for taking care of me. Being one to be frugal more often than not, I keep the various oil change coupons included in the latest Valpak, just in case. Seeing an oil change coupon for a new auto shop taking residence in the former Trusted Tire, and prior to that, Discount Tire Centers, I made the decision to give A-1 Automotive a shot. Calling the shop 2 hours before closing on a Thursday, I spoke with Gary Anderson, then manager, who informed me they're too busy & to try tomorrow. I called back the next day, again met with no availability. I chose to make an appointment for the following Monday at 10am. Come Monday, I arrive a little past 9:30 am. I originally wanted to utilize the synthetic blend coupon, but Gary highly recommended full synthetic. Indeed, it does say so in the manual. So, instead I used the full synthetic coupon. I was told because of cars leftover from Friday, the wait would be around 2 hours. I said I'd wait, killing time by taking a walk about the neighborhood, then using the free Wi-Fi in the lobby to listen to podcasts/videos etc. Around 11:15-11:30 am, my car was rip-roaring to go. Estimated wait time of 2 hours. Actual wait time of just over an hour. Winning! I'm very satisfied with the service I received from Gary Anderson & the staff at A-1 Automotive. The wait was shorter than stated, and I felt I was dealing with an honest human being, not one that'll try to pull the wool over my eyes, robbing me blind. I've been coming here about 2 years now and plan to continue coming. Mundo and the team are amazing and my favorite thing has to be how they don't pressure/upsell repairs and services. They tell me what I should consider getting fixed but don't make me feel bad for not immediately doing it or try to sell me things I don't need. I feel like I'm always getting my moneys worth. I usually come for oil changes but relied on them for repairs after I was rear ended last year and they made it perfectly manageable. Same again this year when my check engine light came on. I found A-1Automotive on Groupon upon looking for a good oil change deal. As soon as I walked in, Robert helped me out and was extremely helpful! While waiting for the service, Robert debriefed me on a few things they inspected with my car and even took me to my car to show me everything and explain. I learned a few things I never would have known prior to my visit (penny trick to check wear and tear, etc.). He also didn't try pushing me to urgently pay for anything on the spot - he was completely transparent and even gave me an honest timeline of when the potential repairs would be extremely urgent. Got a good deal on Groupon and went in to get new brakes. In which during the process they told me I didn't need new rear breaks. But I told them to replace anyways (not sure if that's causing my squeaking issues if they chose not to replace them after I told them to). After getting my car it started squeaking so I went back for them to fix it and was charged bc I didn't take their offer to rotate them?? I can't remember what they were trying to sell me after getting my breaks done. Not sure if they messed up the first time and lied that I had to pay $60-80 for them to fix the squeaking the second time coming in. Can't remember how long it took for them to start squeaking again, but it was within the same month. Chose not to go back for them to fix it due to how sketchy it seemed‍, after 9 months of squeaking I haven't gone to go see what's wrong but will update my review once I do get it checked out. 11/30/2020 Updating from 10/23/2020. Fixed the main issue. Apparently the technician did not tighten the oil filter enough so it caused the oil to leak. Went back to A1 that following monday to follow up with them and they ended up giving me a free oil change hassle free. since it was only written on a company letter head i waited to write this review till after i used it. furthermore, today my fiancée needed an oil change so i decided to call A1 to ask if she could use the free oil change since our cars both use the same type of oil 0-20. without any problem they said "bring it in". ended up giving her the paper, she went in, got the oil changed, left without any issues and most importantly without paying a dime. very honorable. once again. A1 has been professional, easy to work with and for the most part done the job right. unfortunately the oil leak happen to me but i knew i could trust A1 to fix the issue. me and my fiancée have been and will continue to bring our cars here. only thing is next time ill just inspect the work for my convince as should everyone else. read more
