Won't come back here. Calamari was bland and it wasn't even hot (we were the only ones in the restaurant). Budae jjigae (army stew) was the best thing we got there and it wasn't even amazing. I give it 3/10. We asked for bossam (pork belly) but instead, she gave us jokbal (pork feet). We told her that we wanted the bossam and then our server told us that that was it. We even showed her a picture of bossam & she said it was the same thing... uh no. After she brought us ANOTHER plate of jokbal, she told us that they were out of bossam. Why couldn't she just tell us that from the beginning? Plus there was pork belly in my soup so I was really confused. Basically, her knowledge on the food they serve was very low & she overall seemed confused when we placed our order. Came in on the evening of 8/18/24 with a large group (20+) around 9PM. I came in earlier than everyone else to let them know a big group was coming. There were two servers: a guy and a girl. The guy was very nice - he served us with a smile even during stressful times. Unfortunately, he was not our server; our server was the girl. She was rude from start to finish, treating us like burdens instead of frequent customers. She hurriedly ushered us onto the patio and snarkily told us "I can only give you five tables. Figure out the rest." Rude, but ok, we're a large group so we need to be understanding. She only provided us two water pitchers, which the 20 of us blew through in five minutes. After 15 minutes of waiting for her to come back so we can ask for refills, I brought the pitchers inside to ask for refills. She glared at me as if I was bothering her, snatched the pitchers out of my hands, and shoved two fresh ones into me. At this point, I was shocked. I have dined here more times than I can count, but never had I been mistreated by a server in that manner. The guy witnessed the interaction and tried to be nice to me, but as if she didn't want him to be nice to me, she pulled him off to the back before he could finish his sentence. I brought the waters back out, and I saw that my party was moving our 5 tables around so we could make more space. The server RUSHED out behind me and scolded us "I already told y'all I can only give y'all 5 tables." Absolutely ridiculous way to handle a customer interaction. After being scolded like kindergarteners, we asked her to turn on the ceiling fan as the patio was very warm (Texas in the middle of August), to which she replied "it's the patio, of course it's hot." Mind you, we were not asking her to move back inside - we were simply asking her to flick the switch next to her to increase air circulation in this cramped outdoor seating area. Before we can continue the conversation, she storms off back inside again. At this point, we are hot, disgruntled, and we have been here for about 40 minutes and have not received anything more than the waters that our server was reluctant to provide. She comes out asking "Do y'all want to order more food?" Ma'am, you haven't even taken our orders for drinks or appetizers. We politely explained to her that we did not like how she was treating us, we waited for her for a long time on numerous occasions and it did not feel like we were welcome in the restaurant. Her reply? "Oh then y'all can leave." Appalled is the only word I can think of to describe how we felt when she said that. I understand that we are a large group on a Sunday night, but nothing gave her the right to shun us like that. Never in all my years on this Earth have I received such treatment, and I do not wish this upon anybody else that wishes to dine here. Her rude comment was the last straw for us - we got up and left immediately. We went to Pochakaya down the road, who had no problems accommodating our large group and we even got to know the owner for a bit. If you like being berated and mistreated for wanting to receive basic restaurant service, then I would come here. Otherwise, there are plenty of other pocha restaurants in the Carrolton area that treat their customers with decency and respect. I used to frequent 99 Pocha because of the service and the affordable food, but the food has risen in price and the service quality has clearly plummeted. I do not plan on returning to 99 Pocha until there are some concrete changes made internally, and I encourage readers to do the same. read more

Whatever you do, don't order the jjamppong. My stomach is still churning from that greasy sad excuse of a dish. It wasn't even hot when it was brought to us; it was lukewarm. Barely any noodles and not tasty at all. Also note that all the prices went up to $12.99. It's pretty much a rip off at this point to order anything they offer for $12.99. Food isn't worth it. She overcharged us for 3 bottles when we only had two. We didn't notice initially and ended up paying extra for her carelessness. Very disappointing service. Where do I F-ing start!. Eric el jefe the boss man, of the Pocha 99 has the spots of all spots. Everyone has been great and courteous. Only thing I don't like was that Houston Astro's cap. My wife and I wanted to find a little us time for the night and we found great food & it could be our new drinking hole. I ordered what I love Gizzards, ya I said it gizzards. If you can't make gizzards the place ain't worth a darn. This place did the darn thing. Ajo, cebello & BBQ gizzards etc etc etc. they had other vegetables. Pros: The food was good but the seafood soup didn't come with noodles which it usually should. It was not too salty and a lot of seafood. Nice music and a good replica of Korea's night style drinking restaurant. The jokbal was not memorable. I probably won't order it again since it was heavily drenched in wasabi. It was very salty. Cons: Expensive for the portion. Waiter didn't tell us/remind us about the soju special so we paid a lot for the soju. Service was average. Ordering rice was $2 for one bowl. Service was slow, and servers act like you don't exist. Tried to order more items and could not flag down a server, the service bell was ignored multiple times. When we asked for the check the server was catching an attitude with us since we only had 2 drinks. We tried to order more but it seemed impossible, server acted like she was doing us a favor each time we asked for something. The management is friendly and helpful and obviously cares about customer service. Makes good use of the space they have, and they have the best/most affordable takoyaki I've found in DFW so far. Very quiet and small place tucked on the other side of Ktown. We were were last weekend and it was a bit chilly out. We got seated pretty quick, but service was pretty slow given it there were a moderate number of people. Water was delayed and food took a bit long, but the soup was pretty good though. When I read some reviews about very bad service, long waits to get food, and the subpar taste of the food, I was skeptical about eating at 99 Pocha, but my girlfriend and I still decided to take a chance with 99 Pocha. We were very pleased with our late-night dining experience on a Saturday night there. Our server was very attentive and kind, and despite the place being super busy, our army stew, squid and pork bokkeum, and seafood jeon all arrived in a timely manner. All three dishes were very good. The bokkeum was a bit on the spicy side, but it's very tasty. I had never eaten jeon that was made with eggs, and it was a pleasant surprise to eat this seafood jeon made with eggs. There was a surprising amount of eggs that reminded me of a eating an omelette. The army stew wasn't too spicy but was still delicious with kimchi, ramen, spam, little Vienna sausages, and a slice of American cheese. My girlfriend and I look forward to going back to 99 Pocha and trying some other dishes on its menu. read more

This place is great for late night dining! My friends took me here for the first time as I barely go to pochas mainly bc of the pricing. I do not regret it at all. It does taste great and our waitress was great as well. We had the intestines, which was crunchy and chewy at the same time! It was amazing! We also had a stew (forgot which one) and the pork belly with kimchi ans green onions. The pork belly had an amazing smoky flavor and it paired with the kimchi and green onion so incredibly. 11/10 would come again. read more

This place is fairly new located near hmart by Java and all the other offices and cafes across the street. There is pleanty of parking and inside is fairly small. This place reminds me of ddonggo with the similar round silver tables and close atmosphere. There is a couple of tables and two big seating areas for big groups. When I came there were a bunch of women about 25 to 50 ish years of age and older men. I did not see many young people here except one big group of young men that left pretty close to when I arrived. The menu is pretty small and a little pricy compared to DSS but its all the simialr types of food. I uploaded the menu onto the pictures. They have pretty much similar items as any other bar around and has a similar atmopshere. This is probably a great place to go to if ddonggo or dss seems to be too packed or if you want a close and small area to come with friends. It is located slightly deep into the complex so you may miss it but right now they have many signs up pointing to the area so you may not have a hard time finding it. Parking can be limited if it's busy but you can park across where java is and just walk over. I haven't tried the food here yet but they did offer us some chips and i beleive it was meant to be some type of salsa and that salsa just tasted lile ketchup and vinegar and tobasco sauce... So I am not too sure about food here. Try this place out especially during thier happy hours because I saw a sign out the door indicating they had some! One bad thing about this place is that there isn't any buttons so when u want to order you just kind of have to yell and call the servers to come go you. It's a fairly new place. They have a bar but it is fairly limited in hard liquor choices. They have some beers like shiner bock, bud light, asian beers, etc. Of course, there is soju. I mostly come for the alcohol but have found that their food is better quality compared to your usual Korean bar food. This is my second time visiting. Bossam is soooo good and melts in your mouth. I've tried a few of their fried chickens and they are ridiculously crunchy and tasty. Kimchi chijjae is pretty good and has great quality slices of pork as well. Seafood pancake was average in my opinion but still enjoyed it. Buldak is average. Overall, this place is pretty impressive for Korean bar food (I usually don't expect much). Just want to note that price is a bit higher... I think? But I still prefer this place to the other K-bars for their food. read more

We've been here a few times but today truly showed the position this place is in now. Cool concept but execution and service falls flat. The last 2 times we've been, it's been dead and we've been of only 2 tables that are there. Usually about halfway into our dining, we're the only patrons in the restaurant so it speaks for itself. We ordered a beer tower, the stir fried ramen with rice cake, fried half chicken and fried chicken wings. The fried half chicken came out first which we have ordered before on other occasions. It was visibly burnt and dry as hell. It was so dry to the point where we informed our waiter that we think they burnt it and it was extremely dry. We're not the type of people to bring up bad experiences or dissatisfactory food so it was already awkward for us to say anything. However, our waiter just shrugged his shoulders and said it's because of the cut and motioned to his neck area. The F.... It's a thigh piece man but ok. He said he would go back and see what he could do and then proceeded to come back and act as if nothing happened. The rest of the experience was so awkward and uncomfortable since he hid behind the kitchen and no one came out ever even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. I was in the mood for something decently spicy, and the pictures online were promising. I can certainly say that I was not disappointed. The menu is cheap enough to encourage being adventurous, and the service is great. I ended up trying the pork belly with squid, and a kimchi pancake. Both dishes were incredible. The pork belly/squid combo was lathered in a mildly spicy, but ultimately savory with a delicious sauce. The squid was cooked to the perfect balance between chewy and firm, while the pork complemented. The kimchi pancake was one of the best I've had with just the right amount of crunchy edges and retaining the flavor of the kimchi. 10/10 would go again. Hit just the spot. read more

This is my second time at this location and I did not have a pleasant experience. Our server sat us and we had a few friends in the group who needed food accommodations and our waitress denied almost all of them. I can't say the waitress makes the rules in the restaurant, but a simple side dish such as rice was not even allowed. She also said that we were able to add or take out things bc they were "already mixed in" so it makes u think if everything is premade . There was also an odd tension between the waitress and our group and that might have been because she didn't like that we were a group of young adults or that it was later in the night but who knows. The atmosphere was nice and the other waiter was amazing but I don't think I will be returning. There are other amazing restaurants in the area that have concern for the customers and allow vegans and vegetarians in their restaurant. read more

I've been wanting to try this place out and finally got to last Friday. It wasn't as big as I imagined beforehand but there is also an outdoor patio that I did not check out. Think DSS for an older crowd. It also reminds me of Ddong Ggo (which is across the street) but a bit smaller and honestly I preferred Manna Pocha's food. We ordered a 2000cc beer tower (Asahi I believe, but there were a few options) and a couple bottles of peach soju for drinks. For food, we ordered cheese fries, boiled thin sliced pork belly with leek, and I think the green onion chicken ? One of the available chicken dishes. All the food was great and those three were enough for 3 people to easily share. The sauce that came with the chicken was very refreshing. We were all quite full by the end of the night. It wasn't too hard to get a server most of the time and we generally didn't have to wait too long for at least some of the food to start arriving (each dish did come out separately though). I will say that the price point is set a bit high (around the same as Ddong Ggo) but food was definitely good enough to make me want to come back. Food has changed since we had last gone. Maybe different kitchen staff.. everything seemed more bland. We had the fire jjokbal which was awesome the first time we had it.
