If you're a fan of Thai cuisine, then 9 Pad Thai is a must-visit restaurant. I have been having lunch here for quite some time now, and I can confidently say that their food is always very good. read more

Let's be honest; this is the best Thai restaurant in the area!! The food is absolutely delicious and will have you coming back for more. The drunken noodle and panang curry was great! So was the 9padthai and the pineapple fried rice. Definitely worth the price even though a little steep but I heard that lunch time prices are cheaper. The restaurant is very clean and the service is very attentive and pleasant. Thanks for a great dinner! read more

I've had good experiences in the past and one recently where the food was not as good as i remembered it to be. I'm updating this to 4 stars because they called to try and make things right. Not many businesses take the time to provide quality service, and they did. read more

This place is amazing. The owners are from Bangkok. Great ambiance and the food is so favorable and authentic. The service was spot on as well. I've been searching for some authentic Thai food in the Springfield area and they delivered big time. I love the fact that they let me alter my dish (chicken kapow) and let me add shrimp to it. The prices are fair as well. A realistic rating for this place would be 4.4/5 read more

The best pad Thai in the DMV. Great for dine in or take out. They can adjust the spice level however you want and the Thai iced tea is good too! read more

AMAZING crispy duck basil!! And my Thai friends give this restaurant a thumbs up... Give them a try! You won't be disappointed read more

Favorite Thai restaurant in the NOVA area! Food is amazing, price is just right, and the staff is super friendly!

Food is dry and even though a good Thai hot lacks flavor. The rice isn't even any good. No depth. Just average tasting food with heat. No layers. It tastes reheated roo not fresh. Very disappointing. The spring rolls and water were the highlight. Pop ups in Phoenix and food trucks put this place to shame. Not sure who is giving it jigh marks but I assume they give taco bell good Mexican food marks as well. If hamburger helper did thai this would be it read more

The kind of food you might expect eating in a strip mall, which this is. The server was fairly attentive and we were treated to free spring rolls to start which was a nice touch! The toilets were a good exercise walk away and were fairly unkempt. Service = good Food = average Atmosphere = sub par read more

We ordered Green Curry and found a large maggot in it. We will never be ordering from this place again and advise everyone against it. The maggot was dyed green, so who knows if it was cooked in the curry. How many more are in the rest of their food? Gross. read more

I frequented this place under the old management back when it was called Bangkok Noodle, and I'm happy to say that they left it in good hands with 9 Padthai. I've been able to visit a handful of times since the re-opening as 9 Padthai, and I've left happily satisfied each time! Their food is still of consistently great quality. I'm a huge fan of the Thai rice and noodle dishes, so I almost always opt for an order of those whenever I eat at a Thai restaurant. I've been able to try their Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, and 9 Pad Thai. I would have to say the star of these is the 9 Pad Thai. Yo, a huge serving of delicious pad Thai wrapped with a fluffy omelette? That's GENIUS. My mouth is watering from the thought of having it again... They also gave us complimentary dessert during our first visit. I was too full from the huge serving of pad Thai so I only had a bite of it, but from what I remember it was on the sweeter side. Not something I would personally order. Still, I appreciated the gesture and that only made me want to come back. I'm glad I live so close to this place. The restaurant can be found in a not-so-easy to find plaza without google maps, but parking was easy. If you're looking for affordable, high quality Thai food in the Springfield area, 9 Pad Thai should be at the top of your list. read more

I generally don't like to give reviews, much less negative ones but this place has earned one. I have ordered 3 meals (on three different occasions) and on each one I've requested the highest level of spice they can make. On every single order I have received a level of spice lower than I requested. As a customer I pay my hard earned money expecting to get what I ordered, not what they want to give me. Yes, I did communicate to the person I ordered with, that they messed up my previous order. I don't know if they don't listen or don't care but if they can screw up my order 3 times in a row then they can screw yours up as well. I will not be coming back here and advise you to think twice about ordering from the restaurant that doesn't listen! read more

So so goood!! Didn't know this place until Covid hits and I was just browsing around for nearby Thai place. Hand down the best Thai food in Nova area! MUST try the fried rice specials, it's so good!!! Also I like that all the dishes were not too oily or salty so it's great! We honestly liked it so much we ordered two days in a row for dinner :) read more

Food excellent pad Thai red curry and drunken noodles. Yum. Totally recommend thanks.

Best Thai food in Springfield - I always get the drunken noodles with chicken and mango sticky rice and both are delicious

I was impressed by this Thai restaurant. It seems like a family run restaurant. It was fresh and delicious. The flavors were all on point. I ordered the dumplings and spring rolls as an appetizer and pad see u dish for my main meal. It was large enough to share with my spouse and leave full. We will put this place on our rotation. read more

The flavors are good. But the quality of ingredients were a bit lacking. I ordered the pad Thai and the noodles were all mush, probably overcooked. I also got the crispy duck basil and there was no meat, just fried pieces of flour? Skin? But skin doesn't clump into balls when fried... so I wasn't sure what I was really eating. Last thing I got was the sautéed eggplant and it was probably the best thing I ordered but it came too spicy when it didn't even have the spicy symbol on it. I think I'll stick to Rice and Noodles for Thai food as they are consistent. read more

Crispy Duck Basil is great . Service is awesome. Fried rice is not bad. Beef salad is good too.

We were somewhat reluctant to give this place a chance based on its location in a strip mall and its outside appearance. No way did I think it could hang with our other favorite Thai places in the DC area - and I have to admit, I was wrong. We ordered our three favorite entree dishes that we usually order from our neighborhood spot and shared them family style - chicken pad thai, beef drunken noodles, and combination basil fried rice. We also had fried wontons as an appetizer and mango sticky rice for dessert. The pricing on here shows $$$, but the prices were very reasonable - arguably in the $$ range. Here's how we ranked each item: - Beef Drunken Noodles - Our favorite dish. Just the right amount of spice and the fresh noodles and basil really brought it all together. Rating - 5* - Combination Basil Fried Rice: very flavorful with small hints of spice - overall very tasty. Rating - 5* - Chicken Pad Thai: very authentic and NOT dry like you find at many other places. Rating - 5* - Fried Wontons: Tasty, but very average. Maybe there's no such thing as a great fried wonton. Mostly crisp with very little meat. Rating - 3* - Mango Sticky Rice: Overall good dessert, but the mango didn't have as much flavor as I was hoping for. Rating - 4* Service was great - all in all, it was a great meal that will keep us coming back again. Happy to have found another great Thai restaurant in the southern beltway area. read more

The 9 Pad Thai signature dish and drunken noodles are delicious. They have a picture menu that I appreciate very much.

I forgot to take pictures before digging in - but! We tried carry out drunken noodles with chicken and the pad thai with chicken. I'll start with the drunken noodles - they were perfect! The noodles had just the right about of spicy to be real spicy but not enough that you can't enjoy the food. Now to the pad thai - the pad thai was well made and really flavorful - as it should be it's their namesake! I took off one star because we requested our pad thai to be made spicy and it wasn't in the slightest. Not a huge deal but for spicy food lovers we were a little bummed. Regardless - the food was great and we will return and so should you! read more

This is one of our regular spots. Every single dish I have had here has been delicious and fresh. They have a huge menu so I have tried several different things (appreciate the picture menu by the way!!). I don't proclaim to be a Thai food expert by any means, but this is our favorite Thai place in the DMV. Plus the service is fantastic. They are just soooo nice in here!! Highly recommend!! read more

Food, service, ambience are my deciding factor in giving this high rating. Everything in this place is great!

AMAZING food!! I am a thai food addict - I've probably tried just about every Thai place in Alexandria, Arlington, and Annandale, and I get carryout at least twice a week. I just discovered this place last Thursday, and I've already eaten here three times (it's Sunday LOL). I can't speak to the service because I've only gotten carryout, but the people I've met when picking up my food have all been very nice and pleasant. So far, I have tried the Pad Thai with chicken (100% the best Pad Thai I've ever had, and my husband agreed), Pad Prik King with chicken, Papaya Salad, and the Pad Ped with chicken. Everything has been excellent - tons of flavor, SUPER spicy (I normally order my Thai food "Thai spicy" - Thank goodness I didn't do that here, since I wanted to test it first! The normal spice level for the 3-pepper dishes was perfect), and the chicken has been super tender every time. I am actually blown away by how good the food is. My husband likes Thai too, but he doesn't usually love it as much as I do and he gets sick of it. But he's already asking when we can go again :D This place is a hidden gem, and I am so glad I stumbled on it! I can't wait to keep exploring the menu! read more

Holy Cow! I never imagined liking a Pad Thai so much until I came here over the weekend for a quick order. I initially was enticed by all the other Yelpers snapping photos of their 9pad thai special which is essentially Pad Thai wrapped in thinly seasoned scrambled eggs. What a cool concept, right? I absolutely fell in love with how rich this dish was! No, not fatty-rich but how deep and savory the flavors were. The seasoning was very balanced where you can taste the zing, tang and the sweet notes which is the 'bread and butter' of the great makings of a Pad Thai. I actually found myself liking this Pad Thai better than the ones my boyfriend and I had in Thailand. I did, however order their pineapple fried rice and crispy pork with Chinese broccoli. Let's start with the fried rice: I found the flavors to also be nice, though I've had better. I think the rice was too moist and it needed to be dryer so it wouldn't be glutenous. Nevertheless, we liked it, though not a crowd-pleaser it was filling. Next was the Chinese broccoli with crispy pork. Now, this was very good but salty! I found myself wiping of the sauce off my broccoli just to be able to eat this entree. The crispy pork was really tender and crispy -how can you go wrong there?! I did notice that there was so much garlic it made the entire dish a bit too garlicky and spicy? Maybe that's how it's supposed to taste. For apps: we tried their calamari and please for the love of an almighty, do not order this. It's not fresh, not 'lightly battered' as they claim and in fact, it's store bought and they deep fry it. Maybe stick to something more, oh I don't know... Thai? Something I clearly should have shifted my gears to! A few cons: I found this place to be inconsistent. I've gotten Thai iced tea twice now and one didn't have milk while the other did. Hmmm, interesting. Next is the service, it's a hit or miss! Our last service was very different than our first experience. This time, a new waitress was very slow and she was so rude about the menu. We kept telling her we wanted to try the crispy pork w/ Chinese broccoli and she kept saying the dish's name in Thai. I'm not Thai so I have no idea what she was saying so I pointed at the dish on the menu and she kept saying no. This went on for a near 5 minutes until she realized I was pointing at the right item. I mean seriously? How do you NOT KNOW your own menu. We felt so offended that she was increasing her voice every single time we had a question about entree items so instead, we stuck with 2 items and called it a day. Service like this hurts a business because despite the food being good, I'd like to be treated with respect at the very least, not scolded! Lastly, the pricing is a bit steep for Thai food especially when you have local competitors such as Sisters Thai! I spent nearly 42? for 2 entrees and 1 Thai tea, that's a bit much don't you think? I think next time, I'll stick to taking my food to go. Reminder, please do NOT get Thai iced tea to go, this was the same instance I didn't get milk in my Thai tea. This place has such potential but the inconsistencies ruined the experience for me. read more

Consistently good food for good prices. Please keep it that way for continued success. One notably absence though - curbside pickup. Between the pandemic, and people with children or handicapped - curbside pickup would mean more business, and would be easy to implement based upon location. Add curbside pickup option! read more

The shrimp pad Thai was okay. I've been here once before for dine in. And the food was good. I ordered tonight for takeout and the food was okay...the pad thai was overly sweet. The cashew chicken was WAY over cooked. The whole thing was crispy fried bits. There was little to no meat. It was also way too salty and had 4 cashews. Disappointed because it's pretty expensive. I don't think I'll be going back which sucks cus they are highly rated. read more

9 Padthai replaced Bangkok Noodles and kept the interior the same. The new management offered us their new menu and a picture menu as well. Staff was friendly and service was fine. Their special pad thai comes wrapped in a thin layer of egg which we like. Lunch portion size was as big as normal dinner portion. It also came with one complimentary side of soup or fried roll. My only complaint is the beef for my pad see ew was too dry and tough. read more

Really disappointed in this restaurant's lack of concern for the health and safety of its customers. I ordered pineapple fried rice and substituted shrimp (allergic!) for chicken. When I got home and took a bite I discovered they'd given me shrimp (although the receipt clearly says chicken). Called the restaurant to explain my allergy and was told to come back for a replacement. Upon arrival, I received no apology for the mishap just an attempt at a swift exchange. Because of this lack of concern, I asked for a refund and not even the manager who came out to provide it apologized. Lucky for me this didn't end up in a hospital trip. I will not be returning to this restaurant. read more
