They don't have marinated crab anymore. Quiet little place with lots of tables and comfy seating. The server we had wasn't very nice. She wanted us to order quickly and wasn't thrilled I wanted to take the sides to-go. Food was piping hot until the very last bite. The food and overall experience wasn't bad, but compared to the many other Korean restaurants in this area, I'd rather go elsewhere for better pricing and food.

We were in town and went in for an early lunch. The space was modern and clean. The ladies uniforms were cute, they looked like flight attendants and they were all so sweet. We got a bit of everything, they had combos which was really smart. The squid was the best I've had at a Korean restaurant, everything was tasty.

Yummy soup & fast service! They have lots of tofu soup options that include rice, egg, and fried fish for only $14.99! Banchan is also included in the price! I got the beef soup (had a small portion of beef, but in this economy I understand) definitely will be back! Psa the air conditioning is cold be prepared:p

I was shocked to see so many negative reviews, but it turns out this place is under new management. So much variety in choices which is what I love about Korean restaurants. This place has the best spicy quid stir fry (오징어볶음) in Metro Atlanta! The Galbi-jjim (갈비찜) had lots of veggies and rice cake just how I like it. The staff is very friendly and accommodating as well!

I have been here a handful of times now, wanting to get a consistent sample size before writing my review. Had dinner there tonight which was helpful as well. Located in a strip mall perpendicular to Pleasant Hill Rd, it's a hidden gem. Interior is clean, modern, and welcoming. You are seated quickly with either hot tea or ice water. Tonight we had the seafood pancake as an appetizer. It has a very healthy amount of seafood, and is hearty. Comes with a mildly spicy dipping sauce but I'm sure if you asked you could get soy sauce if you prefer? So fluffy and the outside cooked to perfection. My meal was the mul naengmyun, noodles in cold broth (a summer entree for hot days). I have had this dish almost every time I have visited, and it does not disappoint! Freezing cold, mix some hot mustard and vinegar in and it's so good, plenty of noodles to satisfy anyone. The other two in my group had soondubu with seafood, comes with pressure cooked rice and also for the table some banchan (side dishes) that we finished two sets of the 5 offered! Our server was great, everything was professional, friendly and courteous. We arrived early before the traditional dinner time so we had our food quickly. Our gratitude for finding this awesome spot! Support small businesses!

Stopped in for lunch so I didn't get a full round-trip experience here, but what I had was great. Booths are limited but managed to snag the last one, right by the kitchen, which made it pretty cozy on that chilly day. I got the mandoo (dumpling) soon dubu (tofu soup). The tofu was as hot as lava pretty much the entire time I ate it. I still have burns on my tongue. :P It was delicious. The unique thing was the single server rice cookers. I hear that's all the thing in Korea now so it was cool to see it here. It comes out piping hot tableside, complete with nurungji (scorched rice) on the bottom. Nothing really special going on with the banchan though. Cucumber and bean sprouts were the best part. No one should ever say that when kimchi is on the table. Service was prompt and fast. If they don't come around when you need something, you can use the service chime at the table. Definitely will be back.

I came here to try this place out. Parking lot gets pretty busy here but we came on a Monday afternoon and there wasn't many cars today. We were seated right away since there was no crowd. I went ahead and ordered the Beef Bugoli Bimbap and Seafood Pancake. My better half order the Seafood Tofu soup. My meal came with some miso like soup. The beef bugoli bimbap portions eas decent but the amount of beef I received was insanely small. It was maybe like 4 strips? For $20, I figured I would of gotten more beef than that. The seafood pancake was a good sized dish and very tasty. The free side dishes were good especially the fish cakes. The seafood tofu soup was okay. Customer service here blows badly like the other reviews. Each time, we had to flag them down and ring the bell for service. First time when we ringed the bell, nobody even came. The waitress walked by several times until I had to wave her down. She never checked on us and I had to get up and grab more napkins myself. My water was not refilled and I had to flag her down for the check as well. My rating is mostly the service and my dish kinda sucked for the price. The seafood pancake was good. I am unsure if I will returned as there are soooooo many Korean tofu restaurants in the area to where I can be picky to where I go.

My friend suggested to have Korean food. Upon arrival, I realized she wanted 순두부찌개 or Sundubu-jjigae or aka spicy Korean tofu soup for lunch. Recently I had made an extended trip to Seoul, which explained my hiatus from Yelp since Yelp has no presence in South Korea. That was possibly one of the best holiday I ever had. My friend asked if I was okay to have Korean food since I had just visited Seoul. I told her of course since I love Korean food. So let's go back to 88 Tofu which was located in Duluth. SERVICE 4/5 Upon entering, the staff greeted us and we were promptly seated. They asked if we would like to have some tea (possibly complimentary) and came back with hot barley tea. The weather out there was so hot and I wondered why they did not serve iced barely tea. There was no water pitcher around which was common in Korean restaurants in the area. Perhaps they would give us complimentary water if we asked. Service in general was nice, polite and prompt. AMBIANCE 3/5 It was simple and adequate. I like the ambiance at Dish way better. FOOD 3/5 섞어 (조개,새우,소고기) #2 Combination tofu soup = 2/5 Since this place seemed to be specialized in tofu stew/soup, I ordered 섞어 (조개,새우,소고기) - the Combination tofu soup with clam, shrimp & beef. Strangely there was no beef in my earthen pot. There was one shrimp, a few clams and lots of tofu. I opted for the "Mild" which would equate to a "Non-Spicy" in Seoul or Singapore, which I have eaten the same there and the tofu here was not as soft and smooth as I expected. So sadly this tofu soup was not passable for me :( LA 갈비 4/5 When the plate of grilled ribs 갈비 was served, I felt exceptionally hungry. It smelled so good!! The taste was more of sweet and smoky. The meat was definitely savory. Unfortunate I had to deduct a point since some of the meat were just so chewy that they were deemed inedible. Unfortunately, I would rate 88 Tofu an overall 3/5 since I am sure there are many Korean restaurants in Duluth which could provide better.

It's not bad, its cheap and I feel like I can't complain for the price. I would say its similar to hmart food court soondubu. The service was not good, I walked in and nobody greeted me; the servers just continued walking around or doing things in the back. I sat for a few minutes while still nobody came up to me, until a couple walked in and were immediately seated and I had to get the attention of the server/host. There was confusingly a paper waitlist facing the entrance with a bunch of names on it, so I wrote down my name before finding out they they weren't using it. They have daily specials that are all various versions of soondubu for $10, and I had the combination special, medium spicy. It was a little bland and din't have that much tofu in it, and there were a couple standard side dishes. Like I said, cheap and fine for the price. One bonus that they have is that the rice comes in the metal bowl and crisps up on the edges, and you can add barley tea to it to finish up your meal.

We enjoyed our Sunday lunch at 88 Tofu. Ordered #54 spicy galbi jjim, #2 combination tofu soup, #55 ginseng chicken soup, and #11 cheong guk bean paste tofu soup. After ordering, the server brought out the tasty side dishes and the kimchi was quite good. Asked us if we wanted more during our meal. Large plate of braised beef short ribs came out sizzling and had a nice spicy taste after a few bites. A large bowl of ginseng chicken soup filled me up. The combination tofu had a lot more seafood compared to other restaurants. Good portion size, delicious food, and great service.

Came here for dinner time and was surprised to see that they serve specials for dinner as well. We ordered the Sunday special, pork bone soup, tofu soup and kalguksu tofu soup. The kalguksu soup I ordered was supposed to be spicy hot but it was not spicy at all. If I'm being honest there wasn't much flavor at all. The noodles were also pretty overcooked and bland. The pork bone soup however, was really flavorful and I really enjoyed it. The service here is pretty good, they kept refilling our side dishes and came to check on us various times. I like this place because they still serve the rice in the traditional pots, however, they have gotten rid of the fish that comes with the side dishes. For 9.99 daily specials you really can't complain. It's a great deal and runs all day. Overall, for the price it can't be beat but would only recommend getting the specials here.

I feel this is the best Korean tofu restaurant in town. The tofu soup is very tasty and the kimchi is so fresh! The steamed hotpot ice is another hit. The price is very reasonable too. highly recommended!

Sausage tofu soup - spicy but tasted like normal spicy
    Monica L.

Ok, so after the other day my parents and I decided to go back for lunch. My mom had the handcut knife noodle seafood tofu soup, my dad had clam tofu stew and I had the sausage tofu stew. They had the normal spicy and I had mine the spiciest level. This time we ordered the seafood pancake as well. The spice level again for the normal spicy was not spicy at all. Mine, the spiciest level though hit the spot. It had a good amount of kick. They were very busy but the food still came out in a pretty quick amount of time. The sauce dishes for the seafood pancakes were stacked on top of one another, so the bottoms had sauce all over them. A little messy, but no big deal. We always have to ask them to poor tea into the pots with the crunchy bits of rice in them. I'm not sure why you have to tell them since it's understood that's what need to happen, but again, no big deal. When we asked for to go containers though, that was a big deal and it pissed me and my family off. We asked for 4 containers. 1 large container for my mom's stew with noodles because she didn't touch any of it, a container for the leftover seafood pancake and 2 smaller ones for our leftover tofu stews. The waitress comes back with one large plastic container and one Styrofoam container for the pancakes. My dad asks for 2 smaller containers for mine and his and she proceeds to tell my dad to combine them all in the big container. WTH. Mine is a completely different flavor from his. Also, what if we are a family that doesn't like eating from each others plates - not all families don't mind saliva swapping. We explained that one is clam and one is sausage and those flavors didn't mix plus even if we did combine them, what about my mom's food that she didn't touch? So after a few minutes she came back and rudely set the plastic containers on the table, all huffy puffy. She didn't give us a bag to put everything in. She was basically argumentative over 2 small containers. I have never given anyone less than a 15 percent tip in my life. Even if you were to just give me food and walk away and do nothing else I would give 15 percent. But because she was so rude and argumentative with my dad (who by the way is in his mid 80s) I gave her less than 15 percent. Honestly I felt like leaving her no tip at all. I understand that they were busy but she was rude for no reason. Her demand for us to combine our food so she didn't have to bring 2 containers was ridiculous. The crappy part is I really like their food. The seafood pancake was delicious and I don't even like seafood pancakes. Their spiciest tofu stew was also delicious with the right amount of kick. My family and I really like the taste of their food. Unfortunately this was our second and last time here. I would rather have a lack of service than bad service. As good as the food was, the waitress left us with a bad taste that we can't recover from. The food is good. The kimchi good. No doubt that that their prices are good too. Hopefully you will have better service than we did. If staff being rude to you over minute things doesn't bother you then I definitely recommend this place. Maybe they'll be nicer to you though.

For the Beef Bulgogi Cheese Fries, the bulgogi is good, the fries are not. These fries are from the frozen section at Costco, make no mistake. They are bland, 2/5 star fries. Even if the bulgogi was on top of better fries, the bulgogi is dry and the cheese on it isn't melty or saucy, so the fries and the topping don't mix together well. Just a pile of dry food.

I told the server it was her first time and he was eager to explain everything to her. When he got to the scallion salad, she was just not loving it, but he told her to at least try and see what she thinks (don't knock it til you try it!) Then he said they're still getting the charcoal ready so it'll be a few more minutes and my friend's eyes just (like what?) So we start with trying a bite of all the sides. She enjoyed everything except the sliced onion salad. Surprisingly, she loved everything else, including the scallion salad! She's a texture eater, so I was weary of her trying the tofu, but she really enjoyed that too! So... the charcoal comes out, and she's just Then the server brings the grill with the cheesy corn, spicy bean sprout, and he poured in the eggs. Followed by the meats! Since she didn't really know what she likes, I made a few suggestions and the server suggests letting him bring us the most popular items first and we can work our way through the menu. What a great idea!! Started with brisket and ribeye and wow ... meats were fresh, paired with the sides, and the dipping sauces, it's just chef's kiss!! We then had bulgogi and pork belly and those were just bursting with flavor! The cheesy corn was good but burned too fast on the grill, the spicy bean sprouts are amazing, and the steam egg is my favorite . The only downside is that if you don't eat those sides that are cooking on the grill right away they'll turn dry and burned and it won't be as good. The cheesy corn also caused some splattering to our hands when we were cooking the meats. The server apologized for the oil splattering since he heard the squeal immediately soak up the oil from the cheesy corn so the splattering would stop. Overall, my friend gave it 10/10!!!
