After my previous experience I said I would never go here again but I was craving Chinese take out and this is the closest place to work. I read new reviews that stated there was a new owner so I decided to go back. The owner is super friendly and helpful. There working on their menu at the time I visited but I did receive a text with the completed menu once it was done. I actually opted for trying the Peruvian part of the menu .. the lomo saltado with fried rice. The food was good and flavorful. I will say though it needed a little more meat at it was mostly onions and fries. I also got dumplings free because they had a deal and they were good and the sauce they give you is good but spicy. Pretty good food. The portions are large and the prices aren't bad. I haven't tried a lot from this place, but the stuff I have had has been good. They make really good chicken wings and the chicken and rice soup wasn't bad either. I placed my orders online and they've always been on time and the person behind the counter is always friendly. The food here is always delicious. We love that it has a Peruvian flare. My favorite dish is the bourbon chicken. It reminds of the chicken that's offered in the food courts at the mall. It tastes very similar. They also offer several Peruvian dishes. The menu is currently being updated so here is a hand written menu which is a bit confusing. Service was good and the restaurant is small but still has a few tables to sit and eat. read more

Found this place in Hunter plaza. Service was good. Our food included Burbon chicken and chicken fried rice, steamed dumplings and vegetable spring rolls. Our other entree included shrimp fried rice and honey garlic wings. The shrimp fried rice had very little shrimp in it. The food lacked flavor for us on this one. The one thing I did like was the partition of food item. So we could surf and turf without me getting sick (allergic to shellfish). read more

Food was terrible. Hot and Sour Soup was watery, not thick, pale yellowish-brown color, tasteless. Vegetable Chow Mein was overcooked and floating in an unidentifiable dark broth. Vegetables were tasteless. Beef Pepoer Steak tasted like shrimp (same oil?) and contained few peppers and onions. Eight dumplings were stuffed in a tiny container. They were passable. My gf and I were passing through and decided to try this spot, she got the bourbon chicken with pork fried rice and i got the honey garlic wings. Overall the service was great! Dude at the front desk was very helpful and had good energy. My gf loved her food, but as for me and the honey garlic wings I ordered not soo much. I let the cook know that I only like my wings extra crispy and well done but when i got the food only the skin was crispy, but the inside of the meat was still partially uncooked. I ordered thru Uber Eats a small shrimp fried rice with large general TSO Chicken. I was very disappointed in the shrimp fried rice because there were only 4 shrimps in the rice and the price was $9.55 it was not even two servings. That's way over price for what you get. The taste was bland. The general tso chicken tasted good except it was dry no sauce at all. Very disappointed! I have had general tso chicken from other places and never was it ever dry. Beware of the menu it says dinner or lunch as a meal but actually charges like an a la carte menu. My food was tasteless and was mostly fat served as boneless ribs. We couldn't even finish our meal had to put it in the trash because it was only worthy to be there. I know they will never see me again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I order the basic sweet and sour chicken w pork friend rice. This is my second time coming, I hated it the first time but because my usual place was close today I decided to try them again. The chicken... I could CRUSH all of them to crumbs....S&S chicken is suppoused to have a light crunch on outside and soft chicken on inside, like a chicken nugget. I was crunching the whole time and the chicken was barely there. I was just eating fried burnt dough with MAYBE a surprise of a chewy rubber chicken piece. My family and I went to 88 china today and we order 2 boneless ribs and a lo mein off the dinner menu it says it was served with pork fried rice and an egg roll so we ordered it and when we got it and we're just going back to our car and we checked our food and we saw that the boneless ribs didn't come with rice and we also checked for the egg rolls and they weren't there too. So we went into the restaurant and we said that our food didn't come with the rice and the person working the register said it doesn't come with rice you have to order it separately so we ordered it because we were already mad enough when we went home we started to eat our food and while we were eating there was basically a plate full of fat because every fork full there would be a chunk of fat right there and in the lo mein there was no chicken because we ordered the chicken lo mein and keep in mind this is our second time coming to 88 china the first time we came the food was amazing but now my dad came up i wanted him to try the amazing food but this time it wasn't so amazing it was probably the worst Chinese food i've ever had. read more

Had a great meal at 88 Chinese in Hunters Creek. Our party of three had a few meals that we shared. Shrimp with Chinese vegetables was in a delicious sauce and I put it over some nice white rice. Another in our party had chicken with cashews and she loved it! I'm not a cashew fan so none for me. We also had sesame wings and spicy Cajun rub wings. I am not a spice fan so I only had the sesame wings which were nice sized and very flavorful. And to start us off we had an order of crab Rangoon. Oh my. I never had that before and it was so good! The guy at the counter is cute. His name is nick and people there call him BDN. Great food, try the chicha it's a homemade drink brew. The Peruvian chicken and the green sauce goes well together, and they have lots of other dishes that other regular chinese restaurants don't have. Because there was a mix of dishes catered I was able to also sample the Fried Rice and Lo Mein which were very good. Apparently a new family took over the restaurant and it has improved greatly. Their menu doesn't close until 9:45 and I know the restaurant's kitchen is open until 10. 45 minutes later I got an email apologizing and saying the restaurant had "closed early" and they would have to cancel my order. I know exactly what happened: they didn't want to fulfill an order so close to their closing time. Don't have the menu open until 9:45 when you won't even want to fulfill an order made at 9:30. That being said, their food is pretty good. I will continue to order from them but there will no longer be any tips coming from me. read more

A few days ago we ordered about $45 worth of food to be delivered. Normally we would order from a Chinese place a little closer, but didn't feel like going to pick it up. So this restaurant was a good alternative to try out. The rude service over the phone and lack of information taken (didn't take my name, number, gate code), should have been an indication of what this experience was going to be like. I was told deliver in 45 minutes. I gave them an hour before calling back to ask for an ETA. The guy on the phone barked at me that the delivery was on it's way. It arrived 20 minutes later. When we order from a new Chinese restaurant, there are certain items that we always try out for comparison. 1) Egg Drop Soup- orange and had unusual taste 2) Fried Wontons- mediocre, mostly dough with very little filling, over cooked/fried 3) Fried Dumplings- decent flavoring, but burnt black on one side 4) Orange Chicken- overly sweet with no spice whatsoever and drowning in whatever sauce that's on it 5) Beef & Broccoli- beef was dry and lacked flavor 6) Pork Fried Rice- undercooked We also ordered Beef On A Stick (lacked flavor) and egg rolls (over cooked). The only nice thing about this experience was the delivery guy who was so polite & apologetic. Unfortunately, not even that would get me to give this restaurant an extra star.
