Great Hawaiian food!!! Their weekend specials are always amazing!!! I had the limu poke, mac salad, and Diamond Head ramen--so delicious!!! The portions are just right and the staff is always friendly!!!
This is the ONLY Hawaiian food place that has meat Jun. the ONLY. I am from Oahu Hawaii, Meat Jun was my go to when I would get Korean bbq plates. I have been in California for 8 years now and not once have found it, not even at a Korean restaurant. So thank you. They also allowed me to order a side of Ahi poke cuz I gotta have my poke fix! Especially since I'm breastfeeding I eat as much protein as I can. It wasn't a menu items as a side (it was only a bowl option) but they were kind enough to make it happen for me. It was also delicious. But hey maybe add it in your Pupu menu? My baby got to try the meat Jun too LOL. My hubby got the Loco Moco he also said his food was 5/5. We will be coming again. Drove all the way from Sacramento, it was worth it. MAHALO
So close to our house, yet this was the first time we've been in since they opened late 2025. We've seen a couple of businesses in this same spot since moving to Rocklin. Tokyo Express and Ohana Hawaiian BBQ were both excellent "go-to" hot meal sources for us. Though it says ramen on it's store signage they essentially serve Hawaiian comfort food, hence the 808. The aesthetic certainly is a love letter to the 50th state with oddly, a single poster of Tokyo. They are a counter service restaurant with a letter-board menu plastered on the wall. Water, extra sauces and to-go containers is a help yourself set-up. My son ordered the Broke da Mouth ramen (spice level 2) which had a rich umami broth, jammy marinated eggs and that cheesy consistency which was our first encounter with a ramen dish. I curiously ordered the IYKYK Meat Jun which is a Korean-Hawaiian fusion dish made of pan-fried thin beef slices soaked. Great dipping sauce. My wife got the grilled Pulehu Spareribs. Savory with a charred & smoky crust. On the last two orders, the rice and macaroni salad were perfect partners that made both very filling plates. We enjoyed this visit. The crew was really helpful and friendly. The food was priced reasonably and portioned generously. This is a local & family-owned business worth patronizing. In another encounter, we also had a taste of the Spam Musubi during takeout after a few days. It was a nori wrapped brick of fluffy rice with teriyaki glaze & furikake that tamed the saltiness of Spam. Definitely one of the best ones we've had.
Just a quick note to add to my 1st review of 808 Ramen. We decided to take our 24 year old son to 808 Ramen today for lunch. I guess I'm a creature of habit because I ordered the Loco Moco again and oh my goodness it was just as delicious as my previous experience. The portion of rice and the hamburger patty are large, the eggs were a perfect over easy and the brown gravy is scrumptious....I also ordered and proceeded to devour a side of Mac salad, it's that good! My husband once again ordered the Chicken Cutlet with gravy and Mac salad... he finished his plate and said it was really good. His plate was filled up with juicy chicken, tender rice and their delicious brown gravy. Our son ordered the Miso Miso ramen and he really enjoyed it. We all tried it and the broth has depth and is rich in flavor. Our son really enjoyed the soft boiled egg too. The guys each had an order of Spam Misubi and they really liked the flavor, how big it was and how hot and fresh it was too. We ordered food to go, we ordered the Chicken katsu with Mac salad, the Diamond head ramen bowl, a side of their Brown gravy because it is that good and another order of Spam Misubi. And, just like the 1st time we tried 808 Ramen, the staff was super friendly, our food arrived fresh and hot and the young man who took care of us the 1st time remembered us and seemed to remember the things that I like to have on the side. They are only open 11:30 to 2:30 on Sundays. We arrived around 12 noon and the restaurant was filing up. While we were sitting and eating the restaurant did fill up. This restaurant is very clean and casual too. 808 Ramen has definitely become one of our favorite restaurants and we will be eating there a lot more in the future. The food has been hot & fresh, large portions and their prices are reasonable
We've been meaning to check 808 Ramen out for some time, since it's close to home and the guy at my blood donation (Vitalant) place has raved about it. It replaced Ohana Hawaiian BBQ, which we only went to once. Same shopping center as Safeway, Panda, Chase. We got a bunch of dishes to try. Lasted us a few meals. They have weekend specials that aren't on their menu, which you can find on their Instagram. On the day we were there, the special was Garlic Shrimp, which is totally my husband! Everything was good, especially the short ribs. Only complaint from us is everything was a bit too salty for our taste. I understand restaurants like to add salt to make foods seem more flavorful for customers but it just seemed like every dish was too salty. Short ribs were a bit pricier too, but food quality was great. Cute place to check out. My husband and I felt like we were enjoying a meal while vacationing in Hawaii. :)
Wednesday night. Not busy. Just Barbara, me and another couple at a nearby table. Place is small, almost claustrophobic. Menu is on the wall. Small selection. Greeting is friendly. We order Garlic chicken with 2 whites, a bowl of break d'a mouth tonkatsu ramen. Couple of Hawaiian Sun drinks. Food prep takes just 8 minutes. Delivered to the table piping hot. Chicken portion is generous. 8 pieces of boneless thigh meat. Crispy on the outside, moist and flavorful inside. But garlic? Not that I can taste. Did we get kara age chicken instead? Still 5 stars. Macaroni salad is gloppy and way too sweet. 2 stars. White rice is a big serving. Just the right amount of sticky. 4 stars. Ramen is a let down. Broth looks like it should be thickly rich, velvety smooth, it's surprisingly thin tasting and hardly has any aroma. Just two small slices of pork. Hard boiled egg was tasty. Noodles are wheat. Cooked al dente that by the end of the meal grew mushy. Sliced woodear mushrooms are good. The soft gooey mozzerlla cheese in the soup is weirdly unsatisfying (and I'm Italian who supposedly has mozzerella in my bloodstream). The parmesan cheese snow on top was also weird. Sorry guys, 2 stars for this mish-mash of a bowl. Hawaiian food in Roseville? So when my daughter graduated from college and she finally settled back in at home,she said one of the things she missed the most about living in the Bay Area were the high quality ramen shops she had access to. Well I suggested we go to our favorite ramen shop in the entire Sacramento area,808 Ramen on Sunset Blvd in Rocklin. We were quickly joined by her siblings and the four of us happily drove out to Rocklin. We got there early as we were the only customers there,though that didn't last long as others showed up a bit after we did. This restaurant is the type of spot where the menu is on the wall and you order at the cashier and then go find a table and when your food is ready it's brought out to you. This visit, we ordered a few dishes so we could truly try out what the restaurant had available. All three of my kids decided to go with a ramen and they just love the Broke Da Mouth ramen bowl featuring black garlic tonkotsu broth ($19.50) and freshly grated parmesan cheese-they got different levels of spice as they went with a 1-2 and 4 spice level. I went with a very unique to this restaurant dish called Meat Jun ($19.50). We also went with a scoop of macaroni salad for the table to share.($2.00)-An order of Manini Fries ($6.00) and a Portuguese Sausage Musubi.($4.50) After our meal we decided to try various flavors of their shaved ice as well ($5.50) Let's talk about these dishes. I've said it before and I will say it again,I think this spot has the best ramen broth in the area-it's so rich and flavorful-I think the key for them is their patient techniques in making their broth-it just leads to a better flavored broth. The use of craft noodles in their ramen also takes their ramen bowls up another level. Personally I'm a level 4 spice guy when it comes to my 808 ramen bowls but I aspire to one day making it to level 5. Let's talk about the side dishes. The macaroni salad is a steal at that price point and I can't see any visit to the shop being complete without eating this. The Manini Fries are a favorite of my daughters,they really enjoy the seasonings and the aioli sauce that's on the side truly elevates it. The Portuguese Sausage Musubi was my personal favorite side-I just thought the texture and seasonings of the rice were such a taste explosion,especially with the perfectly cooked sausage added to the bite-I could eat multiples of these every day if I had access. Lastly let's talk about my dish-Meat Jun. I will admit it was my first time having it and didn't know what to expect. It was incredible-strips of sirloin steak perfectly marinated with a light egg coating-it's a protein-packed dish. It was paired with a really nice chili oil-type sauce-went so well together. The dish came with a side of rice and a side of macaroni salad both were so yummy-I finished every bite. I could see myself ordering this dish in the future many times-I also don't remember seeing this dish served at many other spots in the area. The shaved Ice craze seems to be happening a bit right now in Sacramento-so I was pleasantly surprised to see it on the menu at 808-so we made sure to order this once we finished our meal. I got the P.O.G. (Passion Fruit-Orange-Guava) flavor on my shaved ice and I must say-it was perfect-it was exactly what shaved ice should taste like & at the price point of $5.50-it's a deal that is real tough to beat. Btw parking at this shop is plentiful as it shares a lot in a pretty big shopping center,so no issues there. In closing, We all really enjoyed our visit,the staff was very friendly, the food was incredible, and it felt really good to support a local family-owned and run business who are really putting the work in to establish themselves as a true rising star in Sacramento's crowded ramen scene.

After my appointment today, I was close by to enjoy a bit of Hawaiian comfort food. I have been hearing about Ramen 808 for quite a while and I need to tell you guys now... hurry up and get in here. Run, don't walk! I got here so fast, I was here before they opened, but I only waited a short time. 808 Ramen offers signature ramen, Hawaiian plates, appetizers and sides, dine in, take out, delivery... and great news!! They offer catering!!! Who wouldn't love eating from here!! I decided to order a few items so I could take some home to my adult child (who insists on me not calling her my munchkin or Smash, anymore). My ancestors would want me to order everything on this menu but I decided to go with the karaage chicken, Broke Da Mouth Ramen, macaroni salad, and a few Spam Musubi. As the food finished in the kitchen, Leslie, who took my order, brought me out the food items. The Spam Musubi was thick with fluffy furikake rice and Spam that is lightly shimmered in sweet soy sauce inside before it is wrapped in nori. I loved how fluffy and big it was! Super delicious! Next, the Macaroni salad came out. It was only $1.50 for the scoop. That was pretty good, but if you want to level it up, add a little bit of 808 Ramen's teriyaki sauce on it. It tasted great without the sauce, but that is how I prefer it. The Macaroni noodles were nice and soft and the creamy goodness tasted perfect. I may come back for a few scoops next time I am passing through... who am I kidding, I'm going to order more than that, lol! The Karaage Chicken is dark meat chicken that is Japanese style fried chicken. Marinated and then coated in cornstarch & deep fried... I could've finished the plate by myself, but someone special is waiting for some lunch! The chicken had amazing flavor; hooch on the inside and crispy on the outside. YUM!!! Last, I had the Broke Da Mouth Tonkotsu Ramem. It is their most popular Ramen that features their housemade pork broth infused with black garlic oil, garlic butter, topped with parmesan cheese, pork belly char siu, kikurage, green onions, and a whole aji tamago (a soft-boiled egg marinated in a sweet and salty soy sauce, mirin, and sake mixture)... Now that was pretty delicious! I liked the garlic slices in it and the amount of ramen they put in this bowl is enough to feed two! To me, it is unique of them to put the parmesan cheese and garlic butter in it. The pork belly in it was cooked just right where it was juicy and moist! The egg was cooked perfectly... the yolky center was so creamy! I loved every bite! I have never had tonkotsu ramen like the way 808 Ramem made it for me .. such a treat! Now, I need to come here for that craving! I liked how I got to pick my spice level.. I went with medium so that I could gage the heat and taste the flavors. Meduim was on the warmer side, but I think it was just right for me. I finished the scoop of Mac salad, but a lunch this delicious should be shared with someone you love! So I boxed up the rest and didn't need to worry about paying because you do that at the beginning. So, who wants to come worth me next time I go? Aloha everyone and A hui hou!!
Highly rated so I thought I would give it a shot - I needed my protein fix so I went with the Loco Moco. The Loco Moco hit the spot - the patty was very good and the gravy was just right - I would definitely get that again, but there others items I want to try as well. Oh and I forgot about the Musubi - I got the sausage one and what they do to there rice makes there Musubi excellent, definitely a hit as wel Since this was a to go order so not sure about the service and ambience but the place was packed and the seating looked limited. This place is rated high and deserves the high rating IMHO, if you are looking for some tasty food in Rocklin give this place a shot.
Tried 808 Ramen. We ordered the Meat Jun (IYKYK!), Portuguese sausage musubi, and garlic chicken. Everything was flavorful, the portions were generous, the garlic chicken was crispy but a little too sweet and no garlic. The cashier was helpful and gave popular ordering recommendations. The restaurant was quaint and clean. Of course we had to finish it off with shave. Good portions, good flavors, and definitely worth trying again.
The food was on point. I never finish the broth at any ramen place I've been too, this place was the exception. It was flavorful and spicy which I wanted. I got the Broke Da Mouth ramen with level 3 spice. It was the perfect amount and spice for me. We got theee right before the rush which was perfect timing on our part. Dinner rush was no joke, all the seats were filled and the line almost went out the door. Shows how good the food is. The place had all the Hawaii vibes too. A great atmosphere for a small shop that pumps out tasty food. I will be coming back!
Went here for an early dinner with my wife before a movie. We'd been looking for a good ramen place and found this one through an Instagram video--it looked like a solid authentic local spot. I ordered the Broke da Mouth ramen bowl and it was great. My wife got the Da Kine pulehu ribs, which were just okay. We also ordered the karaage chicken as an appetizer. It never arrived. When I asked about it, staff said it had been given to the wrong table and that they would make a new one. By then we had already finished our meals, so we asked to take it to-go. It still wasn't ready. The person at the register told us they would refund the item. We left without the appetizer and without a refund. Weeks later, we still haven't received anything. Food was mixed, but the service failure on a simple appetizer--and the unfulfilled refund--left a bad impression.
Finally got the chance to try this place! Simple menu, either you want ramen or rice dishes, this place deliver great food. Ordered their Karaage, kuni ramen and th meat jun. everything came out quick, although the appetizer came last. The flavors were good we enjoyed everything we ordered. The meat Jun was pretty unique since I never seen it in any menu, and it was delicious with the potato salad. The restaurant is a little small, remind me of some Japanese mom and pop stores. Everyone was super friendly.
We were so bummed when the owners of the previous Hawaiian food spot here told us they were selling the restaurant. It took us a minute to come by & try out its replacement, but I'm so happy we finally did! We visited for a weekday lunch. The restaurant is small, bright, clean, & well-maintained. There are tables & a long, low bar along a wall for seating. Hawaiian touches include music, decor, signs, & posters. A TV showed surfing programming. The temperature was kept cool on a warm day. Sauces, water, & hand sanitizer were self accessible at the counter. Tables were set up with a utensil & napkin holder. I appreciated that the bar seating had purse hooks. We ordered at the counter & the lady who helped us was pleasant. You get a number & seat yourself. Food was brought out to our table. We were checked in on by friendly staff midway through our meal. Our eats-- IYKYK Meat Jun with Mac Salad Chicken Katsu with Potato Salad Everything was really delicious with good textures! Portions were a nice size. The sauce for the Meat Jun was so yummy. I love that Potato Salad is an option. I sent a food photo to one of my cousins in Hawaii & she was impressed I could get some legit Meat Jun around here. 808 Ramen is located in the Rock Creek Plaza shopping center. Very close to home, in fact walking distance if we really wanted to. Parking is not a problem. Happy that we discovered this newly opened (less than a year) family-owned restaurant blending Hakata-style ramen with hawaiian comfort food faves. We have tried the following on their menu: Broke da mouth ramen - a popular one on their menu which is highly recommended by diners IYKYK Meat Jun - the sauce was so good, had the option of getting the cabbage salad. The meat was thinly sliced making it melt in the mouth (this is one of my faves) Spam Musubi - by far one of the best I had tried Grilled Pulehu spareribs On other occasions, I have tried their Loco Moco - it was a little bit okay because it was a bit on the salty side. My boss at one time ordered the Garlic Chicken but she didn't like it. What others have said, the location is perfect but the dining place is small but it's ok. Service is exceptional. The owners are hands on and very friendly. The restaurant is very clean and decorated simply. All in all, I love this place. Glad it's closer to home. Definitely recommended to try. So good! Loved the food, nice customer service, and clean dining room. Went for lunch a couple days ago and had teriyaki chicken plate and the Mauna Loa ramen. I think it's my favorite ramen in the area! The broth was delicious and the noodles were perfectly cooked and springy. The pork was not a huge piece of fat- which I appreciate since I don't like pork belly usually. The egg was marinated and very good. I got half spicy, which was the perfect amount of heat for me. My husband said the teriyaki chicken was really good and he liked the potato salad on the side. We'll be back! read more

I've said it before and I will say it again,I think this spot has the best ramen broth in the area-it's so rich and flavorful-I think the key for them is their patient techniques in making their broth-it just leads to a better flavored broth. The use of craft noodles in their ramen also takes their ramen bowls up another level. Personally I'm a level 4 spice guy when it comes to my 808 ramen bowls but I aspire to one day making it to level 5. Let's talk about the side dishes. The macaroni salad is a steal at that price point and I can't see any visit to the shop being complete without eating this. The Manini Fries are a favorite of my daughters,they really enjoy the seasonings and the aioli sauce that's on the side truly elevates it. The Portuguese Sausage Musubi was my personal favorite side-I just thought the texture and seasonings of the rice were such a taste explosion,especially with the perfectly cooked sausage added to the bite-I could eat multiples of these every day if I had access. Lastly let's talk about my dish-Meat Jun. I will admit it was my first time having it and didn't know what to expect. It was incredible-strips of sirloin steak perfectly marinated with a light egg coating-it's a protein-packed dish. It was paired with a really nice chili oil-type sauce-went so well together. The dish came with a side of rice and a side of macaroni salad both were so yummy-I finished every bite. I could see myself ordering this dish in the future many times-I also don't remember seeing this dish served at many other spots in the area. The shaved Ice craze seems to be happening a bit right now in Sacramento-so I was pleasantly surprised to see it on the menu at 808-so we made sure to order this once we finished our meal. I got the P.O.G. (Passion Fruit-Orange-Guava) flavor on my shaved ice and I must say-it was perfect-it was exactly what shaved ice should taste like & at the price point of $5.50-it's a deal that is real tough to beat. Btw parking at this shop is plentiful as it shares a lot in a pretty big shopping center,so no issues there. In closing, We all really enjoyed our visit,the staff was very friendly, the food was incredible, and it felt really good to support a local family-owned and run business who are really putting the work in to establish themselves as a true rising star in Sacramento's crowded ramen scene. read more

After my appointment today, I was close by to enjoy a bit of Hawaiian comfort food. I have been hearing about Ramen 808 for quite a while and I need to tell you guys now... hurry up and get in here. Run, don't walk! I got here so fast, I was here before they opened, but I only waited a short time. 808 Ramen offers signature ramen, Hawaiian plates, appetizers and sides, dine in, take out, delivery... and great news!! They offer catering!!! Who wouldn't love eating from here!! I decided to order a few items so I could take some home to my adult child (who insists on me not calling her my munchkin or Smash, anymore). My ancestors would want me to order everything on this menu but I decided to go with the karaage chicken, Broke Da Mouth Ramen, macaroni salad, and a few Spam Musubi. As the food finished in the kitchen, Leslie, who took my order, brought me out the food items. The Spam Musubi was thick with fluffy furikake rice and Spam that is lightly shimmered in sweet soy sauce inside before it is wrapped in nori. I loved how fluffy and big it was! Super delicious! Next, the Macaroni salad came out. It was only $1.50 for the scoop. That was pretty good, but if you want to level it up, add a little bit of 808 Ramen's teriyaki sauce on it. It tasted great without the sauce, but that is how I prefer it. The Macaroni noodles were nice and soft and the creamy goodness tasted perfect. I may come back for a few scoops next time I am passing through... who am I kidding, I'm going to order more than that, lol! The Karaage Chicken is dark meat chicken that is Japanese style fried chicken. Marinated and then coated in cornstarch & deep fried... I could've finished the plate by myself, but someone special is waiting for some lunch! The chicken had amazing flavor; hooch on the inside and crispy on the outside. YUM!!! Last, I had the Broke Da Mouth Tonkotsu Ramem. It is their most popular Ramen that features their housemade pork broth infused with black garlic oil, garlic butter, topped with parmesan cheese, pork belly char siu, kikurage, green onions, and a whole aji tamago (a soft-boiled egg marinated in a sweet and salty soy sauce, mirin, and sake mixture)... Now that was pretty delicious! I liked the garlic slices in it and the amount of ramen they put in this bowl is enough to feed two! To me, it is unique of them to put the parmesan cheese and garlic butter in it. The pork belly in it was cooked just right where it was juicy and moist! The egg was cooked perfectly... the yolky center was so creamy! I loved every bite! I have never had tonkotsu ramen like the way 808 Ramem made it for me .. such a treat! Now, I need to come here for that craving! I liked how I got to pick my spice level.. I went with medium so that I could gage the heat and taste the flavors. Meduim was on the warmer side, but I think it was just right for me. I finished the scoop of Mac salad, but a lunch this delicious should be shared with someone you love! Highly rated so I thought I would give it a shot - I needed my protein fix so I went with the Loco Moco. The Loco Moco hit the spot - the patty was very good and the gravy was just right - I would definitely get that again, but there others items I want to try as well. Oh and I forgot about the Musubi - I got the sausage one and what they do to there rice makes there Musubi excellent, definitely a hit as wel Since this was a to go order so not sure about the service and ambience but the place was packed and the seating looked limited. This place is rated high and deserves the high rating IMHO, if you are looking for some tasty food in Rocklin give this place a shot. read more

Tried 808 Ramen. We ordered the Meat Jun (IYKYK!), Portuguese sausage musubi, and garlic chicken. Everything was flavorful, the portions were generous, the garlic chicken was crispy but a little too sweet and no garlic. The cashier was helpful and gave popular ordering recommendations. The restaurant was quaint and clean. Of course we had to finish it off with shave. Good portions, good flavors, and definitely worth trying again. read more

The food was on point. I never finish the broth at any ramen place I've been too, this place was the exception. It was flavorful and spicy which I wanted. I got the Broke Da Mouth ramen with level 3 spice. It was the perfect amount and spice for me. We got theee right before the rush which was perfect timing on our part. Dinner rush was no joke, all the seats were filled and the line almost went out the door. Shows how good the food is. The place had all the Hawaii vibes too. Went here for an early dinner with my wife before a movie. We'd been looking for a good ramen place and found this one through an Instagram video--it looked like a solid authentic local spot. I ordered the Broke da Mouth ramen bowl and it was great. My wife got the Da Kine pulehu ribs, which were just okay. We also ordered the karaage chicken as an appetizer. It never arrived. When I asked about it, staff said it had been given to the wrong table and that they would make a new one. By then we had already finished our meals, so we asked to take it to-go. It still wasn't ready. The person at the register told us they would refund the item. We left without the appetizer and without a refund. Weeks later, we still haven't received anything. Food was mixed, but the service failure on a simple appetizer--and the unfulfilled refund--left a bad impression. read more
Finally got the chance to try this place! Simple menu, either you want ramen or rice dishes, this place deliver great food. Ordered their Karaage, kuni ramen and th meat jun. everything came out quick, although the appetizer came last. The flavors were good we enjoyed everything we ordered. The meat Jun was pretty unique since I never seen it in any menu, and it was delicious with the potato salad. The restaurant is a little small, remind me of some Japanese mom and pop stores. 808 Ramen is located in the Safeway plaza on Sunset Blvd in Rocklin where Ohana Hawaiian BBQ was. Interior has been redesigned with calm blue walls and Hawaiian themed art. The restaurant has 2 tables for two, 4 tables for four, and 9 counter seats (regular table height). Business was hopping on a cold and foggy Saturday night 1 hour before closing, so you may need to wait for a table or order to go. No waiting area. Tables by or in front of the door can be chilly. A party of 12 to 15 people with Hawaiian roots and connections to the Hawaiian restaurant owner arrived, traveling from West Sacramento just to experience. Food is authentic Hawaiian. The cashier taking my order seemed to both encourage me to try their signature Broke Da Mouth Ramen and warn me of its spice level. You have your choice of 5 spice levels. I originally was going to try 3, but downgraded to 2. Thai Chilis are used to spice the house made pork broth. 2 was good for me. I probably could handle 3. The cashier also took the time to check on me and my food despite how busy the restaurant was. Broke Da Mouth contains a lot of garlic: black garlic oil, garlic butter, and fried garlic slices. I was burping garlic the rest of the night and had some indigestion. Flavorful broth. It is also served with freshly grated Parmesan cheese, which looks like a snow pile in your bowl. 808 Ramen makes its own Hakata style Ramen, which are thin noodles cooked al dente. The texture reminded me of egg noodles, and the appearance reminded me of buckwheat soba noodles. Unique and unusual ramen noodles that are an acquired taste. I found the softboiled marinated ramen egg or aji tamago to be much too salty. It was gelatinous inside. The SPAM Musubi looks fancier than average because of its furikake seasoned rice. However, I found the SPAM to be dry and overcooked. Chicken Katsu was sold out, so you might want to call and inquire ahead if that's what you want to order. I thought the seasoned Manini Fries looked good. Loco Moco reviews are all positive. Restaurant offers Mochiko Chicken, which is Hawaiian style dark meat chicken batter fried with Mochiko sweet rice flour. I am curious about the Japanese Egg Salad Sando special, of which a picture is posted on Instagram: @808ramenrocklin. I might try the No Worry Beef Curry someday. Onolicious Hawaiian food! [Rocklin CA] This fast-casual eatery serving Hawaiian kine style food replaced the restaurant formerly occupied by Ohana Hawaiian BBQ in the Safeway shopping center in Rocklin. Came for the first time on a Friday evening and the place was packed and busy. This is a counter service restaurant so we placed our orders at the counter: 2 Loco Mocos - these are House-made hamburger patty, smothered with brown gravy, topped with two fried eggs (cooked the way you like) served w/ a scoop of white rice and (choice of) Japanese potato salad or Hawaiian macaroni salad. Our plate lunches were delivered to our table (we found seating at a bar counter against the wall). My Loco Moco was one of the best (if not da best) I've ever tasted, like straight from the 808 (hence the name), like I'm back on island time. The beef was cooked crispy (which is the way I like it) and browned evenly. If you've never tried it, you're in for a treat! The staff were friendly and some engaged with the diners explaining the history of the restaurant which started with an Uncle ("Unko" in Hawaiian) who owned restaurants in Hawaii. I saw some 808 Ramen pop up on Yelp and we happened to be near by. We were also still missing Hawaii so 808 Ramen sounded like the perfect choice. We walked in and instantly loved the vibe. The walls had lots of Hawaiian and Japanese prints, and the TV was playing surfing shows. The bathroom even had hilarious comic art with Hawaiian jokes. The menu had different ramens, appetizers, and plates with most dishes having fun names. We got the Diamond head ramen, chicken katsu curry, and IYKYK meat jun. Food was delicious! The curry was rich and katsu slices were big. The meat jun was thin and tender and great with the sauce and cabbage. The ramen noodles were thin and broth flavor was nice. Staff were great even with the place being so new. We didn't have any issues with service. They're closed on Sunday and Mondays, open all day Saturday, dinner on weekdays. We definitely want to come back again and try more of their great food! read more

Had to stop by and get my Oxtail Soup fix it was this weekends special. Oh... My... GOD! It was so delicious. Luckily I took a picture before it was devoured. It didn't last 10 mins. We were finally able to try this Hawaii owned spot as recommended by our Hawaii friends. Yesss!! Now we have a place to get legit Hawaii dishes that we often crave! Meat jun was so tender and perfectly battered in egg with a nice light spiced dipping sauce! Katsu curry was also perfectly battered, not greasy and in a delish curry gravy! This place just opened up a week ago and owned by a small family and definitely tastes like authentic Hawaiian food! I was so happy to see that they have meat jun which is a Hawaiian speciality dish that has Korean origin. It's thinly tenderized beef covered in egg and you dip it in a soy sauce/vinegar sauce. The last time I had meat jun was in Wakiki and I haven't seen a place in California that does it. The meat was perfectly tender and nicely thin and their sauce was ammmaaazing! If you have never tried meat Jun, I'd say give it a try! My husband got the chicken katsu with curry. He was super hungry so it got devoured before I could take a picture. The chicken katsu was perfectly crispy and their Japanese curry had nice flavor. We both tried their macaroni salad and loved it! Not heavy like your typical macaroni salad but light and nicely seasoned. Definitely try their macaroni salad with their plates. This shop is currently in their soft opening with limited hours and the owner said their grand opening will be in about a month and they will work on expanding their menu as well. If you miss Hawaii, come here for some local Hawaiian food! Tastes just like the small eateries in Oahu! I was craving Ramen and got to try this place for a late lunch on Saturday. You order at the counter and they give you a number to place on the table. I felt a little awkward being prompted to tip on the keypad prior being served. The tables have utensils and napkins. After a short wait, my diamond head ramen quickly arrived. The noodles were thin, the cha sui was lean to my liking, and there was a full egg perfectly cooked. The kaarage chicken came last; it was nice and crunchy and comes with a lot of cabbage. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We stopped in Sac before our trip back home to Hawai'i and was looking for somewhere to eat. Saw this place on Yelp and it appeared owned by Hawai'i owners by the pictures so we decided to give it a shot. It did not disappoint it had all the comforts of home. Real rice IYKYK, meat jun and some booooooomb ramen/saimin. The broth was super yummy and the meat Jun was nice and tender with amazing sauce. . They even had Hawaiian Sun juices and Mac salad. When you are in the Roseville area, look no further for the best Hawaiian food around because 808 Ramen brings the ono! You can get local plates such as loco moco and katsu. They even have musubi which tastes so good. The employees bring the aloha spirit and the wonderful tastes of the islands to the mainland. The dining inside is limited with counter seats and table seating. I will definitely be back for more. I highly recommend you check out 808 Ramen for some great Hawaiian food! read more

Stopped by this hidden gem and absolutely fell in love! I ordered the "Broke Da Mouth" ramen, and oh my goodness it was beyond amazing. I chose spice level 5, and it was the perfect balance of heat while still allowing all the incredible flavors to shine through. Every bite was rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. On top of the delicious food, the service was outstanding everyone was friendly, attentive, and the food came out surprisingly fast. The restaurant also had an amazing ambiance that made the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a place with great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere, this spot is definitely worth a visit! read more

It's been a while since I've heard people explicitly speak pidgin at a restaurant, but 808 Ramen is definitely a little slice of Hawaii and at least that day, a whole lot of pidgin was flying around That was definitely unexpected here on the mainland. I used to live in Hawaii, so this felt very nostalgic for me and I felt right at home. The customer service was also right on point and we ordered the Mochiko chicken and broke the mouth Ramen. Both items were so good. It could be hard to find a high-quality Hawaiian restaurant in the area, but this place hit the mark. Hey seriously, can't wait to go back and try more of their menu, mahalo plenty. read more

Our New Local Favorite- Here's why!! We checked out a new spot called 808 Ramen, serving Hawaiian-style comfort foods that are onolicious!! The menu is small, but honestly... I could've tried EVERYTHING. Caroline went with the Chicken Katsu Curry and we all loved it. The chicken was perfectly crunchy and that curry sauce was straight MONEY -- rich, deep flavor with that dark brown color we adore. It came with rice and macaroni salad. I ordered the Meat Jun (IYKYK) and OMG... it took me straight back to mom's cooking -- but dare I say... better than mom's Flattened and seasoned steak dipped in egg batter, pan fried, served with a little dipping sauce. Sweet, tangy, tender, DELICIOUS. I cleaned my plate! Debi had the Loco Moco, a Hawaiian classic: handmade hamburger patty over rice, topped with two over-medium eggs and gravy on the side. Great portion, super tasty, and yup -- Mac Salad included. We're SO happy to have this dish nearby! Hiromi ordered the Diamond Head Ramen. She's picky (because she's from Japan and knows her ramen!) -- and she loved the broth. That says everything. She just wished the noodles were thicker, but the ingredients were fresh and generous. We also shared ikageso (fried squid) -- tasty! But our favorite appetizer was hands-down the karaage chicken. Perfect seasoning, crispy, juicy... honestly didn't even need the sauce.
