    After finishing

tl;dr - right price, on time, attention to detail, good behavior. We recently finished our full kitchen remodel and ceiling lights installation. Irfan and his team really did an awesome job from day 1. They also completed the work on time. No delays. Because we were on a tight timeline, they front-loaded a lot of demo and installation work. So by day 2 we already had our wall cabinets up. I loved the workmanship and attention to detail of his team. They were also really friendly and accommodated all our requests. Irfan is very easy to work with. He listens and comes up with suggestions that suits your needs and is open to trying new things. I was able to customize few things around the kitchen after working on the designs with him. I'd strongly recommended getting work done from Irfan and his team.

    Garage remodel final

I want to preface this and say the garage remodel turned out beautiful... I think if you saw what it looked like, you'd definitely want it in your own home. At the end of the day, it was in the range $$ that I had expected but took longer (due to hiccups switching contractors). We wanted to do a garage remodel of our incredibly messy garage (technically, my parent's) Irfan and Terry stepped in when a previous contractor was unable to deliver the results we were expecting, despite giving them a much bigger budget than what others quoted for a garage remodel. It was the typical over promise, under deliver. They tried to pay as little as possible in sub and material to maximize their own pockets. We were not the least bit happy so I pinged Irfan for advice and help. We terminated the previous relationship (luckily, without any push back) and Irfan stepped in to finish the job. I ordered New Age pro cabinets from Costco, sink and tall cabinets, flow wall, door from home depot, backsplash/casters from New Age, lock from ebay and Irfan and Terry took care of the rest. They straightened the very uneven walls, primed, patch and painted everything. They got in a plumber to do the piping and a sub for the epoxy floors (absolutely need two top coats... it is textured, which wasn't exactly what I expected but it was still very pretty). They install the door/lock, straightened the stem wall, built out the dryer vent, added trims, insulated the roof, remount the water heater, add an access panel and installed the cabinets and sinks (which is harder than you think to get everything to align and they really thought of everything. They considered even the slope of the garage floor!) All together, including how much we paid the precious contractor (they did the ceiling, lighting, switches, check for mold, painted and did some attempts on the wall, floors, moved the garage door opener and installed the new side mount I bought), the garage probably was in the range of $25k to $30k (including materials I purchased, which can go cheaper or pricier... I shopped, waited for deals and found creative solutions. If you do custom cabinets, have added options or can't wait for sales, it's likely going to be pricier). I took care of the design/ color element and provided them a draft of how I wanted things to go. I checked out a lot of garage designs online and I have to say, for a moderate remodel, ours is gorgeous and very functional. I actually LIKE to be in the garage, versus dreading myself to go in there to do the laundry. If you are looking to remodel, definitely check in with Irfan. He's easy to work with and very responsive in the whatsapp group he created. You do have to be involved though... since only you know what you want, so definitely communicate as much as you can in advance and be specific. Here's the before and after, courtesy of Irfan. I was going to do some nicer pictures when we finish cleaning and moving things in (so you can see what it looks like when the door is closed) but it's been a tad busy with three young boys and trying to clean. I'll update with those later when I get the chance to bust out my slr.

    before and after

A few years ago I hired Irfan to paint the exterior of our house. The painter was very professional and did a great job overall. Last year again we hired Irfan for our kitchen remodel. This time however we had a few issues - 1. Project delays. The project took double the time that was initially estimated. 2. Dumping debris from his other projects in the dumpster parked in our driveway. Apparently, this is standard practice. 3. Electrical issues around permitting. Eventually resolved but was a major pain point. 4. The project site was not kept clean as promised. They didn't keep the work area sealed. In the end, in spite of the issues, we are happy with how the kitchen turned out. Irfan and Terry are two good guys! They're honest, easy to work with, and have put together a good team of sub-contractors and handyman. They're responsive and will work with you to tie up any loose end. Recommend for small to mid-sized projects.

Kitchen remodel - cabinet painting, countertop installation, tile backsplash, breakfast bar redo

Irfan and his crew worked on a project for us recently, and we cannot be happier with his efforts. I was looking for someone who would be flexible, knowledgeable and schedule-driven. Irfan met all those requirements. He gave a very accurate quote (even though he was not able to see the house in person due to COVID restrictions) and delivered the project on time. Some of the highlights - - He is very good in explaining the options available - for example, we had to texture the walls before painting, and he gave a very good understanding to us on the tradeoffs - He read a lot of the manuals for the appliances and products we were looking to update, and sent us pointers of what we should buy - His team of painters, countertop fabricators, tile installers is really very good We know that scope should be well-defined before the project, but it is impossible to do that. For the few change orders we had - his costs were reasonable. All in all, we are very happy with his work and would recommend him highly.

786 Construction located in South Bay exceeded their expectation in quality and customer service. These guys were very professional in assisting us with HONEST estimates and provided creative ideas for the fence in my backyard, that was taken down by a recent storm. Since the Fence was a joint expense that was going to be shared with both of my neighbor's and me, I was a bit apprehensive about taking up the responsibility to rebuild the new fence, but Irfan and Nelson both helped make the entire process quick and easy. These guys were friendly and did clean, thorough job on the entire project. They will work with your requirements and make suggestions on how to either make the project more cost-effective or ways to get you the best bang for your buck.

What was going on and what was happening if I had any concerns, he addressed them immediately and make sure that they met my expectations. I would use Wise Builders again and I would request Marc to be my project manager again on any future jobs that I had. He worked really well with our designer Jocelyn, I appreciated having a designer. Having a designer to bounce ideas off have her expertise on fixtures and toilets was amazing. Jocelyn did an excellent job working with me and when my daughter had some changes to this design, she was very receptive to those changes and helped me update the changes in our design The only thing that could have been better is, if the tile supplier had communicated with Marc that the tile for the guest shower floor was backlogged. Marc worked really hard to expedite the tile and was in communication with me along that process. In order to give us options besides waiting for the tile, Jocelyn, our designer gave us an alternative tile. Looking at the tile floor now I like it better than what I had originally chosen. I have done other remodeling projects and I would have to say that working with Marc has probably been one of the easiest remodeling projects that I have done. I appreciated that I did not have to be so hands-on in the project because I trusted that Marc would get it done.

All prior interior work in our house had been done by handyman. I really appreciated the communication from our project manager Marc. He created a WhatsApp chat with me and the incredible designer Jocelyn. They were both consistently responsive to any of my questions or concerns -- and opened my mind to design options. Jocelyn spent time in our home, drafted plans, took me shopping, and sourced all the fixtures. From her spreadsheet I was able to find less expensive options for some items. I appreciated the input and control I had on these expenses. Since we needed to move out, I had a tight timeline for the project -- mid October until Thanksgiving. Marc and the team did their best despite City of San Jose delays with inspections. We were able to move back in before the final inspection. Every member of the team was kind and courteous. Marc also did a great job working with the window vendor that specializes in older homes. I'm rating the experience a 4.5 out of 5 for two reasons. I was disappointed that the medicine cabinet, switch plates, and hooks were initially installed unevenly (it was corrected). I expected more attention to detail. And I was disappointed in the wear & tear that happened on my wood floors as well as the overall dust in my dining room. I was warned that things would get dusty -- but didn't understand the extent and would have packed away more things. WISE offers lots of support with design -- they could also offer as part of their package a full cleaning! I offer this feedback to help others calibrate their expectations. Overall it was a positive experience. I waited several months to post this review until I returned from travel and could see how things were settling after regular use. I'm loving the new bathroom and recommend WISE.

They were able to make a normally very stressful process almost stress-free, so much so that all I had to do was say "yes or no" when it came to key decisions. The Construction & More team took lead in the painful parts of dealing with permitting, PG&E, and subcontractors. They also got us in contact with their preferred vendors to help us with discounts on appliances, finishes and other materials we needed to purchase out of pocket. Overall, I found the Construction & More team extremely professional, transparent, organized, communicative and punctual when it came to the end-to-end process. They truly helped guide us through the process so we didn't have any surprises and helped us navigate any hiccups that came up. Normally, construction companies get a bad rap of being dishonest and trying to add in hidden fees and such, but Construction & More is a truly forthcoming and hardworking group of contractors who have your best interest at heart when it comes to your project no matter how big or small. For the process itself, we began with a consultation at our home to walk through the work we wanted the Construction & More team to do. For us, it was a full renovation which included removing a kitchen wall to create an open concept kitchen & living room, adding a mud room, expanding the master bedroom, moving the front and garage doors, as well as moving the ceilings to create a more open space. After the consultation was completed, we met with Avi & Joseph at their office to discuss an estimate and timeline for the work we needed done about (6-months time, pending no delays). Avi & Joseph respected our budget and were upfront and honest of how to stay within the budget and what were non-negotiables that we needed to get done. They really helped us understand what work was critical and what were nice to have to make our living space better. Once we agreed on the work, they promptly sent over a contract for signature, created a whatsapp group for real time communication, and next steps. Overall this initial process took about a week after negotiations and contract reviews. Once construction began, the team coordinated all the work. They made sure that all moving parts were well executed while setting a realistic timeline for the work to be done. All the subcontractors and tradesmen were effectively scheduled, where there wasn't a single day where there was no work being done. I felt that the team ensured that the construction was moving swiftly and the crew was respectful of our space. The crew made sure that our home was properly locked up and cleaned up after each day's work. Additionally, all the detailed finishing work was measured and completed with precision, where all the tiles placed were measured with a laser. As a bonus, the crew was also super respectful to our neighbors which is an extra plus! If you're considering a renovation of any size, but especially a full home renovation, I could not rave more about Construction & More. Their expertise, professionalism, thoroughness and transparency really sets them apart from the competition. I'm extremely grateful and happy with the outcome of our renovation! Good work guys!!

Overall, the project went well, and we're happy with the final results. Bryan, our foreman, was a strong asset to the project. Even though he was managing multiple jobs at the same time, his responsiveness and willingness to go out of his way to address our concerns made a big difference. Because we were home throughout the process, we were able to catch issues early and communicate them directly to Bryan, who consistently followed through to resolve them. What Went Well: * The tile and flooring subcontractors were excellent - their craftsmanship and attention to detail truly stood out. * Bryan, our foreman, was responsive to texts and phone calls, listened to our concerns, and made sure they were addressed. He even designed a bi-fold closet door for us, and helped pick up all the material to build it. * Bryan also took the initiative to handle several unfinished items himself, which we really appreciated. * The post-build cleaners were top-notch and left the space in pristine condition. * Throughout the project, everyone we interacted with was professional, courteous, and conscientious. There were no conflicts or issues, which made the experience comfortable for us. Areas for Improvement: * The timeline was a pain point. While we were originally told the project would take 6-8 weeks, it ended up stretching to 12 weeks. * The design process fell short of expectations. Because Prime's in-house designers weren't available, our design work was outsourced. We only received a full design package for the master bathroom. As a result, we ended up creating our own renderings for the other rooms to help communicate our vision to the team. That said, we were very happy with the design and material selections for the master bathroom they did complete. We just wish the same level of attention and design support had been provided for the rest of the project. * At times, resource availability was limited, likely due to workers being assigned to multiple jobs. This led to workflow inefficiencies and delays. Toward the end of our renovation, our foreman Bryan had to personally step in to complete several tasks, such as installing faucets, shelving, and baseboards. He managed to get it done in between site visits and meetings, which we appreciated, but it also highlighted a lack of available crew to close out the project. Despite these few challenges, the quality of the work met our expectations. We appreciated the team's effort and the final outcome.

Elya provided a comprehensive and detailed walk-through of the entire project plan upfront. This significant undertaking included foundation work, extensive structural modifications for the new roof and walls, electrical work, painting, and all the final finishes. Golden View quickly prepared the architectural diagrams and designs for the new bathroom, which were presented to us for feedback and were exceptionally well-made. Once the designs were finalized, all materials were promptly ordered and secured, and the plan was submitted to the city for permits. Elya diligently followed up with city authorities and provided regular updates, ensuring the necessary approvals were obtained efficiently. As busy professionals with young children, we are extremely pleased we chose Elya as the project manager. Their exceptional management ensured everything was well-planned, organized, and communicated regularly. The pace of the actual construction was notably faster than we had estimated. We were initially expecting the project to take around six months, but it was completed in just four months--a remarkable achievement in timeline management. This was very critical factor for us right from the begining. The quality of the work and the process itself were both excellent. We continued to live in the house during the renovation, and Elya's team maintained continuous checkpoints at various stages, meaning there were absolutely no major surprises. Any minor issues that arose were addressed immediately. Furthermore, the work site was consistently kept safe and isolated, which was a primary concern for us having two younger children. We always received advance notice about what work was scheduled and if any input was needed from us, allowing us to plan our days accordingly. We highly recommend Elya as a project manager and Golden View Renovations for their professionalism, quality of work, and ability to deliver a complex project significantly ahead of schedule.

Many of the contractors we met with did great work, are knowledgeable, but we selected Golden View because we felt Hugo and his team were the best fit for us. They matched us with the same excitement for the potential of modernizing our kitchen to our needs and we felt they paid the most attention to genuinely honor our wish to increase storage in the kitchen and make it efficient for entertaining. We stressed that the kitchen had to be functional more than beautiful, and they managed to provide us both. Their designer worked so hard to provide us with functional and beautiful designs. We were overwhelmed by the many directions the kitchen design could go and Assel, their designer, presented us detailed options to go through. Their team was also so neat and clean as they worked on the renovation. They kept areas taped up to keep debris from getting into the rest of the house since we were still living in the house while they remodeled the kitchen. We also appreciated the ease of communicating with them at any time. Hugo and his assistant Andrew, both would respond to us. Andrew came out to really take great notes and videos about anything we noticed for touch ups, and it was really well outlined with punchlists to clear the final touch ups. This was a good experience as we heard many of our friends complain about their contractors being hard to find when it came to the final touch up work at the end of a big renovation. Thank you Hugo, Assel, and Andrew. You made this big kitchen model a successful one for us.
