This gas station always tends to have better prices per gallon for gas than other spots in the City; nearly $0.10 cheaper than the average in San Francisco. Location wise, it's strategically located and there are hardly ever any lines to get gas!

    Thanks for declaring my tire...

In general they don't maintain their equipment well. They've had pumps go out. Most recently, I used their air pump. My tire was low (34 psi) but not an immediate issue. I used their pump. I asked the guy to turn on the air. He did so, and I could hear the air compressor working. I put the nozzle on my tire stem for maybe 20 seconds. I checked the pressure with my gauge. The pressure had gone DOWN, and now my tire pressure was dangerously low, to just 30 PSI. Thankfully I have run flat tires. I went to the Chevron on Geary and 24th. They always have air, all their gas pumps almost always work, and they have a mechanic on-site that can fix flat tires.

It can get fractious between drivers in a hurry - it can be theater some afternoons - but with prices rising, I'm back, I'll wait. Tonight I explained to the owner in the booth the last time I filled up there was an error getting correct change. He remembered and gave me a credit tonight. (It helps he knows me by sight, plus I'm honest). To fill up your car and save $8-$14 a tank this is the place to go on the Divisadero corridor nearby 80-E/101-S. No frills, just inexpensive & decent quality fuel. Bring cash, it's the cheapest way. They take debit but they charge $0.35 (maybe it's more now) to use your card and the per gallon prices are a bit higher.

He really puts out great vibes to every customer. It's very impressive. I really think this gas station is especially lucky to have him making people feel so welcomed and warm when getting the least expensive gas that I found in San Francisco. And the other thing that I learned recently about Arco is that they use something that's new to me called top-tier gas, which means it's got this detergent additive that makes it better at cleaning some part of the engine. I mean, I don't really know about what I'm saying because I just learned this idea from AI and of course for all I know it's in accurate and I'd love to know if it's accurate or not but anyway at this point in addition to focusing on saving money on gas, I'm only gonna go with the least expensive top-tier until I learn I learned the wrong thing from AI, Evan Richards, San Francisco organizer.

A 5 star gas station?…read more Ordinarily, stopping at a gas station just to fill up the tank (or for any other reason), is not something worth noting. But this is no ordinary gas station. First, it's kept super clean. Always. From the pumps to the mini mart, there's never any disarray or mess. Second, they play instrumental music. Somehow the simple addition of Beethoven, Bach, or Tchaikovsky turns the very mundane act of pumping gas into something almost refined. Thirdly, I try to stay on top of my car's (her name is Baby) tire pressure. Here, all you have to do is ask an attendant, & they will happily check the air pressure for you. Yes, happily. Is it weird that I actually look forward to coming here? I think Baby does too. 5 stars.

Yes, the Shell station across the way may keep things competitive but years ago it wasn't the case. Prices used to be $0.30, $0.50 more per gallon so I avoided filling up here. No longer: Pumps are new, clean, pricing no longer gouges, the station is shaded by old growth trees. The owner left a note at the fill up to apologize for not stocking hand sanitizer: Somebody kept stealing the dispenser but there's some inside plus a bathroom for customers.* * this might change with COVID restrictions but it's kind they offer facilities if allowed by SF law.
