Prices are consistently 50 cents lower than neighboring stations, and competitive to Costco (since we don't have a Costco gas station in Marin... Yet!). Despite the sometimes lengthy lines, It's fast and easy to get in and out thanks to the large number of pumps all with long hoses. Convenient location right off the freeway. I have not figured out how to enter my phone number for Earnify discount yet, but hope I will eventually for even more savings! read more

This gas station is right off the freeway and it's easy to get back on. Cheapest prices in the area. We did not go inside the store. You can pay at the pump! Multiple pumps; did not have to wait. read more

The cheapest gas you can get in Marin County! It's located in Mill Valley and just be mindful that there will be lines going into the gas station. It's worth the wait. You will save at least $.60 per gallon versus other gas stations. You can save more if you pay with cash hands-down the best price in Marin county. read more

Cash prices are often lower than Costco. Avoid the lines by going during non-rush hour times. If it's late at night, the bright lights provide a safer, more reassuring environment, especially for women. But if you want to be super careful, just pay with a debit/credit card at the pump instead of walking to the attendant to pay with cash; the debit/credit prices are still very competitive. Location-wise, it's an especially convenient stop if you're driving south on 101 bc Redwood Hwy parallels the freeway on the west side, and it's very easy to get back onto 101 south. If you're driving north, you'll need to backtrack south a little bit in order to reach the station, and when exiting, you'll continue south to cross under the freeway and catch the onramp going north. read more

If you did not know, this is the cheapest gas that is available in Marin County and probably other counties and cities as well. This is very well known and there can be lines waiting to get in, but they have a lot of pumps and the lines go very fast, so this is not a problem. Easy exit from southbound 101 freeway right after Tiburon Boulevard exit. This gas station is so well known that they even had a story about it in the San Francisco Chronicle lately where they talked about the owner and how he is able to stay in business by selling gas for at least a dollar cheaper than anybody else read more

great price.pleasant staff...that helps move patrons to next available pump...easy on and off.near great restaurants and shops.

Early this morning at 4:04 AM, I stopped in to purchase gasoline . After refueling, I requested my change and receipt. The gas station attendant looked at me as if he couldn't hear me. I repeated myself, and he was very rude and yelled at me for no reason. According to the receipt at the bottom, he was cashier number 7. I'm trying to be polite and said I didn't know you could hear me. He continued to swear at me in Spanish and gave me the one finger salute. I've been a long-time customer at this gas station, and I won't return. I'm posting this as a warning to other early morning customers to be careful. read more

Very cheap gas!! Hence why it's always busy here. Long lines and the hose is long enough to reach over to the other side of your car. One of the cons though is no credit cards are accepted. And the charge a fee for all debit cards. Major rip off! They totally take advantage of it!! read more

Bad long lines due to broken credit card readers at the pump.. Been happening multiple times now.. Had to go to cashier with credit card.. Waiting and filling took 30 minutes.. This Gas Station has very old gas pumps... Never Again.... read more

I was filling up my partner's tank because she had to go to work in a very short time frame and I used a broken machine, unfortunately. There was no way for me to know that it would try to eat my card, as the screen display was the same it always is. I'm not upset with this aspect of my visit, but I am disappointed at how sexist and rude the gas attendant was to me. First, he didn't listen to me that my card was stuck in the machine. Second, he blamed me for using the machine when it was 'obviously already broken'. I'm sorry. You tell me how you would react if a machine ate your card while you were on a small time frame to accomplish a task. He then blocked off the gas pump on both sides, stopping traffic to let the white man next to us find an alternate pump, but telling me I would have to go find a different pump. He didn't direct traffic for me. In fact, I had to wait in line again to get gas. This is cheap gas, but wow it's been a while since a person has been so extra and rude to me. If you're a female getting gas here, try as hard as you can to not have to see the attendant. They won't help you. :) read more

little guy is super rude and will rip you off, he's a crook, always shorts me on my change and the little jerk actually put the amount of gas I paid for to a lesser amount, omg he leaves the checkstand and customers in line while he tinkers with his car he has issues and needs to be reported and replaced , people don't want this crap! read more

I'm giving this station a star for good value, probably the cheapest fuel in Marin. However, in the morning, sometimes the attendant is sleeping behind the counter. Twice this year, he short changed me. It wasn't much money but was still very upset. The amount was so petty that I'm not going to complain to the owner. For now on, I'm paying with a card. read more

It is a mystery to me why people go to the station on the other side of the freeway that costs 50 cents more per gallon! I understand that the lines can be long here, that you may have to go over the over-pass to get here, and that if the line is too backed up you are kind of sitting on an off ramp, but come on, it's often 50 cents less! And the line moves pretty fast for a gas station. People are there to get in and out (oh, and there's an In-n-Out on the other side of the freeway by the exorbitant gas station). read more

Lowest gas prices (in the Bay Area?) by 20+ cents against other cheap gas stations, opens all the time, and located right off 101S (a bit tougher for 101N as it's in between two exits). The cheapest gas station is WHERE?!? Years ago, I paid my rent babysitting for nice, rich families in Tiburon, and could never get over the fact that a gas station in MARIN, of all places, had prices that were consistently about 10-20 cents less than the cheapest place in San Francisco. I would wait all week to fill up my gas tank at this Arco. 7 years later, I have yet to see a place within 50 miles of my house that has cheaper gas prices than the Tiburon Arco (OK so maybe it's not technically in Tiburon since it's on the other (west) side of the freeway but that's how I think of it cause it's right there off the 101 by the Tiburon Exit). When looking up Arco on Yelp, I was a little confused as to which of the 2 Arco's in Marin is "the really cheap one" (I didn't know the street name). There seem to be a few in Marin but one look at the map told me this is the one - just off the freeway, after the Belvedere exit if you're heading to SF (on the other side of the fwy is the 'strawberry' shopping center with the Safeway). I just filled up yesterday and gas was "just" 3.09 a gallon (yeah it makes me sick that I'm actually saying 3.09 is cheap but when the cheapest place in my hood - the Arco on Whipple - is 3.19 it gives me a sense of glee to know I just saved ten cents a gallon.) Lines can be a little long but it seems like if your tank is on the right side of the car, or even if you don't but have a small car and can stretch the gas hose all the way to the other side of your car, you're in luck, cause the lanes for people with right side gas tanks seem to be pretty empty. Lucky for me I have a little CRX and it's easy to stretch the hose! And I have to give this place kudus for their renovations. It's huge now, compared to when I used to come here regularly after work. I'm not crazy about the fact that they charge a debit fee, but I just plan ahead and bring cash (yes I am that cheap - I refuse to fork over that 45 cents dammit). Then when I go inside to get my change I know I'll probably be able to use it for the hefty bridge toll. read more

ARCO - THE cheapest Gas in the bay area - Gas Stations Near Me - Mill Valley, California

Great gas prices! One of the best stations in Marin if you are passing by and need to fill up.

Yep! I go to this station too! It is a royal pain-in-the-you-know-what, but with gas prices the way they are and, even worse, the way they fluctuate on a daily basis, we all need to seek out the cheapest station you can find and just grin and bare the other stuff. Other stuff: Long lines, 45-cent debit charge, non printable receipts, jocking for position, long lines inside, pumps that don't work, grumpy clerks, easy to get in (if you are headed south), hard to get out of (it you are headed north), etc. etc. All this station really gives you is the cheapest gas around . . . . sometimes it is well worth it to just smile and be patient. read more

Cheapest gas around! Which is a breath of fresh air in CA. Prices can go way up in a hurry. So to fill up for $2.99/gallon I'm happy happy! I don't even mind waiting in line. With a 26 gallon fuel tank the savings adds up quick. read more

Embarrassing thing here, I drove off with the hose in my car today 8/1 at around 8AM and the guy came running out and told me I owed him $80.00 to replace the clip. I pulled over and went in to give him my debt card and he said cash only. TO THE OWNER OF THIS STATION..... Did you guys really get the money ? I feel like I got scammed and this guy just took my $80 bucks. If this is so, this guy should be FIRE and and I should get my money back. I also called to talk to a manager to get a receipt but they told me to call back. read more

Sorry got to post this but the behavior of the employees here are unacceptable and reportable. I went there to pump gas and use my debit card at machine where the pump is, didn't work. Went inside the store and ask this lady who I can't understand what she's saying. She sounds like mumbling then this guy Neri batted in. I was asking what if I have a changed after using my debit on a specific amount. He wasn't also clear on what he said instead went ahead to my car and pump gas. Went back in and ask Neri I have a changed. He seems to be upset and his tone was like he owns the place. This is not a first that this happened, either him Neri or another guy who seems to be mad and yells at people. Spoke to the owner and he seems very nice. His name is Mike. read more

This is my go-to spot for gas in the North Bay. It is definitely the least expensive - even with the 35 cent fee to use debit. Though everyone else is on to this spot, the lines move quickly. They say their hoses are long enough so you can go on either side, though I prefer to wait so I can have it on the closest side. Just like the grocery store, pick a line and stick with it - practice patience. Once at the pump, it is very fast. Their card readers at each pump are easy to use, get to the point and are fast to process. Plus, their pumps work quickly. We get good gas mileage whenever we come here, so I am happy when it works out that I am nearly empty when passing by. read more

they indeed have the reasonable price of gas in Marin. The best thing is if you are heading south on 101 you just get off the highway, pump your gas and right back on high again less than a min. Their staffs are very friendly and always looking out to help. read more

Cheapest gas in Marin located in a very convenient location right off of southbound 101 in Mill Valley. Gotta love it! The one negative is that it's often times very crowded and you have to wait for a terminal. I commute to work and unfortunately go through a lot of gasoline. The Arco station is a regular stop for me. The store isn't that special, but has the usual products to sell you from a medium-sized store layout. I don't go in the store very often, but when I have, I've received good service. It's always relatively clean and well organized. Avoid the busy times during weekday mornings and Sunday afternoon/evening. read more

The cheapest gas in all of Marin! Did I get your attention? Yeah, I thought so. The Arco station on Redwood Highway (right off the 101 South) is probably one of the worst kept secrets around. Is it a fancy gas station? Hell no! The pumps/machinery are a bit dated. But they do have a convenience store for all your beverage/snack/bathroom needs. And best of all, their gas is significantly cheaper than any other station within a 10 mile radius. I did a price comparison today (2/30/15). A gallon of unleaded fuel at Arco was $2.09. Across the highway at the Chevron station, they were charging $2.69. The numbers speak for themselves, folks. Be warned - depending on the time of day, there can be a long line to fill up your tank. But if you can handle the wait, you'll be rewarded with significant savings in fuel! read more

This station is very convenient for me coming from San Rafael to Mill Valley every day for work.... I just take the exit and pull in... also the prices are the lowest I have seen in Marin.... Soooooooooooooo why only the 3 stars... well it is because the people who normally visit this station are S T U P I D and can't figure out how to keep the traffic flowing. Its a very simple process... pull up... take an open spot... inset cash or debit card... go to pump.... pump.... complete pumping.... return handle to cradle.... put cap back on.... get in car.... pull out.... Ta Da... They have a ton of bays to pull your car in to.... and for those of you who don't understand unless you are driving a huge SUV or Truck you probably are stuck with making certain your gas pump is on the same side as your gas cap... however for most of us who have large, mid-size, and small cars just a heads up, their hoses reach and you don't have to worry about being on the correct side.... sure would make the process go a bit more quickly.... read more

I can't stand that I have to go to this station, but I do it anyway. The problem is I usually need gas when I'm headed north, not southbound on 101, so I do that horrific loop past the Ferrari dealership and all of that. Then when you get there, there's always a line. Worst of all, though, is their pumps don't really work. They start pumping and then stop. I start them again and then they stop. I mean what's the big deal, why can't they just keep pumping? They kinda remind me of me in the sack circa 1996. read more

Yelp Date: October 5, 2012 - ARCO Redwood Highway Mill Valley -CHANGED HOSES so they won't EXTEND TO THE OPPOSITE side as they have since I've been going there. Who's lame, illogical thinking decided to replace them with fixed hoses? I saw 2 people this morning who must have been regular customers unhappily try to fill up on the opposite side. Hose didn't extend. I could see them looking at the top of the hose connector. Pull the hose again. Nothing. Both drove off, no attempt to come back and reposition. Absolutely a cost saving move that will cost them customer abandonment immediately no matter how cheap the price. Be forewarned! read more

What do you get when you combine a Costco Gasoline pump with an Arco, two of the cheapest places you can find gas in the U.S.? A Super Saiyan Gasoline Station! Not really... ...but if you venture into Mill Valley near the 101 freeway, you'll see what I'm talking about. A few weeks ago, my girlfriend and I were driving back to San Francisco after a long trip around Point Reyes and we were looking to pump up before hitting the city. The nice thing about Marin County is that, despite the fact that the area is so well off, gas is cheap here... MUCH cheaper than that price gouging gas pump at Point Reyes Station. But we weren't even prepared for what we came across after exiting the Whole Foods In Mill Valley. Right next to the 101 near Blithedale/Tiburon exists a special Arco Station. This Arco for one, has UNGODLY in inexpensive gas prices. I mean when everywhere else in the city/North Bay charges over $3 a gallon, would you really expect a place to hate $2.59. YES THAT's RIGHT ITS THAT DAMN CHEAP. That's even better than what I pay in the South Bay... which is crazy especially when you expect gas prices at stations next to freeways to be expensive. But I guess this Arco is the exception. And with cheap prices you'd think this place would be packed? Nope!!! This Arco blends together what makes certain Costco pumps so good: multiple lanes with three pumps in each. My girlfriend and I came right in the afternoon on a Sunday when people would be buying gas for the week and we got out fast!! I have to say if you are in Marin County and need gas, this is the stop. It's literally next to the 101 and SO convenient if you're driving to Muir Woods or anywhere in the North Bay. I give this place an "omg, id travel two hours for this." Give this Arco a visit because it might as well be a landmark. Oh yeah, since it is an Arco, it takes debit not credit BUT it doesn't have that stupid machine in the center where you dial your digits. You'll find that at the other Arco in Mill Valley. Pump well and prosper! read more

Yes, this one is a pressure cooker. But I make a special voyage to this place once a week to fill up. Yes the debit card charge blows, but I can spare $.40 when I am saving $.30 a gallon compared to my local place in Fairfax. Yes, this is the cheapest gas in Marin but I'm beginning to think it's just not worth it. Why? Because every time I try to pump gas here the pump doesn't want to work. It is extremely aggravating to try and fill up your tank when the pump isn't pumping right. This hasn't just happened to me the last time I went here I saw a few other patrions trying to pump their gas and having the same trouble I was. Arco please fix your pumps. I think I would rather spend the extra dough at Cheveron across the highway, at least their stations run properly. Edit: August 2, 2015 They fixed their pumps! Gave them two more stars than before. read more

Yup yup cheapest gas! The line goes fassst! You can pay cash at the island or inside. They take debit or card but charge .35 cents for the debit card just know this. The man that claimed to be the owner was an absolute ass to me. I simply explained that in this day in age to not accept credit cards and then to charge a fee for using your debit card was lame, he gave me a snarky response stating, "there are signs everywhere". That may be, but at least up the level of customer service and pretend you care about your customers. Also, the lot is super tight, and tough to navigate. I will not return unless I'm running on fumes. Hint to owner or day shift cashier, get off your i-pod, and smile and say thank you to the customers and maybe they will return because they want to not just because they have to. read more
