I have been going here for a couple of years now because Valero is considered a high tier gas and this station is one of the most reasonable priced gas stations in SF. Nice, right? But there is something that is super annoying that I would like to share with you. Apparently the owner does not want to hire 2 workers so they can cover each other's legally required break. So, everyday they close the office around 10 am, noon and 7pm for a 30 minute break. Unfortunately if you go at these times to fill up, you cannot get the "cash price discount" because they lock the office and won't accept your cash payment. Not sure if this is legal since they advertise a lower cash price, but refuse to honor it. So, it winds up costing you a lot more than the advertised price because you are forced to use a credit card to pay at the pump. It costs more to fill up your tank, than if you go across the street and purchased your gas at the Chevron station. A switch and bait, I think. Also, be aware that they change the price during the day based on expected demand at the particular time. What sneaky practices! Not so nice after all. read more

First time writing a review for a gas station as I usually write reviews for food instead, but it's such a great gas station that I just have to. This gas station is newly taken over by Valero after switching hands a few times in the last year or so. Valero has completely revamped the place and made everything nice and new. The staff there are always pretty nice. In the first few weeks it was open, I went and saw a window squeegee that was a little broken and the guy just tossed it immediately and got a new one. It's also one of the cheapest prices you can get in the neighborhood. The only thing is that it can get a bit tight when you're trying to exit a particular direction but that's not the fault of the gas station due to space constraints. If I can't get to Costco in time, this is my go to gas station for sure. read more

I commute 140 miles round trip a day. This station is my go to on gas. It's a great price. Don, the attendant, is awesome. He bust his ass everyday making sure the place is clean. Last time I was there (yesterday) the place smelled like Lysol. Incredibly important to know that I can go somewhere so responsible during these unnerving times. I came in here when my Van broke down late evening and Don was very considerate in not having it towed. They have the cheapest price for gas. Don was compationate towards me and helped me in getting my van running and back on the road. I would come here simply cause they are friendly and have a wonderful staff. Ok. So... I wouldn't normally post a review about a gas station, but I feel like I need to give credit where credit is due. My husband and I WERE actually at the Chevron across the street BUT, before we got our gas, for some unknown reason, the Chevron OWNER was INCREDIBLY rude, to us AND OTHERS, so we took our business elsewhere! Wow! (I DO NOT recommend CHEVRON at 19th & Judah!) That is how we ended up at this VALERO for the first time! I think it's either new, or maybe a new name/ownership... Not quite sure about that? Anyway... that day was when we met a guy named DON, the attendant working at this VALERO. It's actually, basically, because of HIM, that we have continued to, ONLY, fill-up our gas tank at VALERO. Aside from Don, the prices have also been very competitive. Don must keep the same hours as we do because he's always there when we are. Since our very first time there, he has ALWAYS gone WAY above and beyond, to make sure that we are satisfied with the service, or see if there's anything else we need. He is such a nice guy... EXTREMELY polite, and was very empathetic when we left the place across from there! There has never been a time, since then, that we've received anything but IMPECCIBLE treatment from everyone at VALERO. I also REALLY wanted to point out that this gas station is SUPER CLEAN! (Very rarely the case, anywhere!) Lately, a lot of places are completely trashed, due to Uber/Lyft/Etc... But, when I saw Don CLEANING around the pump, I was impressed. Many others would leave it for later, or maybe have to be asked to specifically clean a certain area. Actually, I think every time we see him, Don's cleaning up, and treating the place as if it's very important to him, as well as his customers! I don't really see that much at other gas stations. I'm also pretty sure that gas station attendants PROBABLY don't get many compliments. I'm not sure if Don is the owner, manager, or regular employee, but I wanted to give him many kudos!
