I have been going to this gas station for longer than I can remember, but today was my last time. Asked to turn on the air after getting a full tank of gas and the attendant would not bother. Did not look like she was doing anything besides looking at her phone. Asked her over 3 times. Station itself is one of the oldest in the neighborhood and it shows with their pump speeds too. read more

If you're looking for a STAR certified smog check location you can just walk into, try Precise Chevron. I dropped off on a Saturday around noon was it took about 30 minutes. Unfortunately my car didn't pass smog but the experience was pretty good. They were friendly and informative. You can walk around Taraval as you wait for your vehicle to be serviced. read more

Chevron isn't the place to go for an oil change. Firstly, the cashier guy is hardly ever at the front; he's consistently in the bathroom or somewhere in the back. When he does appear, he's very rude and always short on change. This lack of professionalism and poor customer service makes it an undesirable option. Stopped in for a fill up 4/16/23. Car had approx. 2 gallons in it. Tank holds 16.6 gallons (2019 Subaru Forester). Fill was unbelievably slow. I lost track of time and finally quit filling when it said I had put 17 gallons in. The math doesn't work. I called and told them the story. They didn't seemed surprised and could care less if I reported them to the city. This place is a rip off. Do not patronize it. Should have given it zero stars. read more

I usually don't write a review about a gas station. What can goes wrong with a gas station. Well, it can be very wrong. The guy at the gas stations refused to provide air and water to their customers, which is against California law. At first the cashier said I need to pay a quarter. So I get some gas and ask him again. Then he said the machine is broken. So how the hell he said from "I've to pay a quarter" to "the machine is broken" which to me he doesn't want to give me air and water at the beginning regardless. This place has a bad reputation all along. Even my car will broke down, I'll never set foot into this gas station ever again. read more

Been coming here since 1988 to buy gas. Today stopped by to put air in my tire & the four eyed millennial working the cashier booth refused until I bought gas first, which I told him I'm about to do as the pumps were taken. He said "NOPE" you got to buy gas before you get free air, which means it's not actually free. Very rude tone & poor customer service. Won't be returning ever again. There are plenty of gas stations nearby that cost much less. But I was loyal to this place regrettably. The customer is always right except at Chevron 19th avenue. This review is for the auto repair center within this gas station. My emission indicator light came on and I couldn't go past 20 mph. Called 5 different auto shops who couldn't even see me for days if not weeks. Called this auto shop and they told they could take me immediately! They provided a diagnosis (bad spark plug and coil) and was able to get me all fixed up in a few hours....and all done with a reasonable price. Total lifesavers!! read more

Smog Check at Precise Chevron. Wow, I am so impressed. I stopped by Precise after leaving another station due to the wait and congestion. Here, they greeted me immediately, put me in touch with the mechanic ( who stopped what he was doing to help me ), they had my car in the bay within minutes, they offered me a place to sit, and in about 15-20 minutes my car was smog-checked and certified and waiting for me in front. To top it off, the total price was ten dollars less than the place I just left. They were all so nice and polite - the mechanic even held my car door for me on two different occasions ( and I'm not a pretty young thing these days ). He was so kind. Ladies (and gentlemen), if you are looking for an honest mechanic, I *highly* recommend Guy at Precise Chevron. I have a fifteen year old Volkswagen Beetle and, over the years, I have had my share of good and bad mechanics. I knew I was in the right hands when I was greeted warmly on the phone and the woman on the phone worked well with me to find an appointment time that worked. Upon bringing the car in, Guy, the mechanic, was attentive, thoughtful, and listened to my concerns / issues about the car. A few hours later, Guy called me and walked me through my different options for resolution. Guy was extremely fair on the price. I ended up calling a few places for a second opinion after getting the work done (out of curiosity) and Guy was the cheapest, and was also the fastest in being able to accommodate getting the work done. On top of that, Guy did not charge me for a number of checks / small fixes that he ended up doing for me. This business is run well - you are definitely in good hands with Guy and the rest of his team! read more

This place is shady and folks that work there are weasels, no other way to say it. All the adults in our house have had different situations regarding the price of the gas not reflecting correctly on pumps and stealing Safeway reward points. The last time the worker tried to play dumb re: the points and said they would be taken off after-- that doesn't happen at any other Chevron. Double talking and then playing dumb," oh then you know more than me" business. And we've never seen Chevron trucks delivery gas, only unmarked trucks and pretty sure it's not chevron with techron gas here. BE WARY!!!! Definitely wouldn't bring my car their for repairs or smog. read more

Pump #6 didn't print paper on 4/12/16 and on 4/17/16. Review for gas station and snack purchases only. Fine place to get gas, I usually choose Chevron gas stations because they take credit cards (unlike Arco - debit only last time I checked) and there tends to be less rif raf than at the cheapest gas stations in town. I went at night, let me check my receipt for the time... 17:52. Hope your ok with army time... There was one person sitting in the car next to the air and water and the attendant kept looking at this car regularly clearly not liking this car's presence. I hit the "print receipt" button and nothing came out - paper all used up... So I went to the attendant for a receipt and probably only because I walked up to the window I also got a Starbucks bottled coffee. They probably don't have printer paper on purpose to get you to go up to the window and get tempted with all the goodies and buy something. I got my receipt and coffee through the little drawers since the attendant was locked inside and went on my way happily probably because of my 200 calorie sugary goodness that I gulped down quickly. Minus two stars for no printer paper or not fixing the problem in 5 days. read more

This is now the WORST gas station in the Sunset District. With sometimes third of the pumps not working. I know, it's only one of the 3 at each pump station. But it causes a back-up and frustrated drivers. It's also pretty run down. I used to like this place. read more

Whoa, whoa.. These guys be da bomb in more ways than one! I say Sheck Them Out! They can do and have done intense mechanical work for me and my family FOR YEARS . Since my last new car, I wouldn't even dream of taking my baby to the dealer's now, without running it by Currie's Chevron first. I trust Currie's implicitly and avoid the dealer, a truly suboptimal experience, in matters that don't endanger the warranty. Besides skills for fairly heavy mechanical work the staff is polite too. They are also fast and usually beat their time estimate. Dollar estimates are ONCE IN A WHILE slightly lower, by 2-5%, rarely higher and NEVER substantially higher. Above all, they have shown the utmost respect, patience, and courtesy to my parents when taking care of their cars -- always giving them rides when the car was being serviced. They drive to their house, pick up the car for service, and deliver it on completion. This counts big time for me. Only once I think a front counter person, may have taken some time to be trained properly, but all businesses experience this. And what do we give businesses that treat seniors with such exemplary conduct? SIX, not five stars (My first 6 rating). My only complaints? First the gas is a little high. Secondly Currie's tries to keep your bill low by correcting only what ails your car now, by assessing how badly you need the car, what the cost and risk is of your NOT replacing a part. Not sure if this is an accurate example but here goes anyway: Instead of saying, "While we work on the head, we can also do the timing chain, which will be due in another X miles," they say, "Based on your driving, you can really wait on the timing chain 6 months or more. We know you need the car badly now." If we're wrong and we need to do it earlier, we'll give your car first priority and a good break on the service." In a good economy you want to say "- - - - it, fix it all, so i dont have to think about it for two years!" but we're no longer a good economy. They have never been wrong. I am helpless when it comes to cars. So when I came to Precise for a smog check, I also needed them to put on some new windshield wipers I bought to replace the old ones -and- an oil change, -and- to check my tire pressure, because the front ones seemed a little off (and I'm bad at matching pressure if I refill with air). After I had told who looked like the head mechanic all my requests, he kinda laughed at my helplessness (in good fun) and said he could get everything done in under an hour. From calling the day before, I knew to come right when they opened at 8. Probably why service really did end up being less than an hour. He told me my back windshield wiper was completely bald- the blade was non-existent. (makes sense because I haven't replaced it since I've had the car, almost 15 years ago) Said it would be an additional charge for the part, and I didn't mind so I said "go ahead." But they didn't end up charging me any more than my initial estimate. Good guys! They deserve more reviews. I'm glad to spread the word and will return for my next scheduled maintenance check. read more

Stay away from this place. It is worthless. Either the pumps will be broken OR the pay-at-the-pump machine will be broken. You will either not have your choice of gas grade OR you will have to go inside to pay or get a receipt. Do yourself a favor and go to the Chevron down the street at 19th and Irving. read more

So there is no nice way to put it - DO NOT go and get your Golden Shield smog repair or any other repair service from this business. I went to B&W because my car needed a smog repair in order to register it. B&W is on the BAR recommended smog repair centers list. I went there because it was close to my home and because my favorite mechanic (who I trusted completely) had retired. I went in with a car that worked. It started, stopped fine, ran smoothly. It just needed a minor tweak to clear the smog. That would have cost me $100.00 under the California Smog Assistance Program. I left with a car that needed an $1,100.00 clutch. I was told to leave the car for a day and night in order for them to check it out. The next morning I was told to drive it over a long distance to get the computer to reset. Fine. I drive for 20 minutes and now my clutch is no longer engaging. I can barely get home. I take my car back to the garage and was told I needed a clutch. Now, know this, I did protest and let then know it all seemed very very wrong to me. Truth is, now my clutch is gone and I need a new one regardless of how it happened. I am not saying this is right but it put me in a really difficult position. Take it somewhere else (I can't drive it, it won't get into any gears) and I will have to pay someone else to check it out and then fix it and then I still need to get it smogged (and I have to take it to a Gold Shield repair place). So the manager keeps reminding me that sometimes clutches go and my car is a bit old and that it really is not unreasonable. My car is old but it only had 69,000 miles on it. AND clutches typically do not just stop working. They degrade over time and the driver can typically tell something is going wrong. I do not burn out my clutch or drive badly (which was suggested and made me absolutely LIVID) I think they are taking advantage of their Gold Shield title and ripping their customers off. I will not get gas, a candy bar or put air in my tires from this station. They are untrustworthy and I hope you think very hard before putting any of your hard earned dollars into this business. There are many other option on the Gold Shield list. TAKE YOUR CAR SOMEWHERE ELSE! I only give them one star because I could not post this review with no stars. I have reported them to the BBB the comsumer Protection Agency as well as the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. read more

This is my second review for a gas station...two more reviews than I ever thought I'd write for a gas station. The guy working here is really nice. It was an extremely cold evening and my car decided to give me the low tire pressure warning (boo!) so I took the car over to Chevron to add some air. The guy here saw me pull up and turned the air on for me without my even asking! Of course I took too long measuring the pressure in my tires and the air pump stopped working on me and the guy, noticing that I'd stopped pumping my tires, dropped what he was doing and started it up again for me. I know this is kind of a small thing, but I was really appreciative of his kindness on a very cold winter evening. read more
