My dad's central AC stopped working a while ago. Being in his mid 70's, comfort is important. So, I took the initiative to get his AC fixed. Landed on Maximum Comfort Heating and AC and gave them a call. Josie took my call, asked a few important questions and scheduled me in. Easy peasy. Josie was courteous, professional, and easy to talk to. Stellar experience. The day of inspection, Elkan who was the Service Tech assigned, greeted us. Super cool dude! Very very knowledgeable about everything and anything AC related. He schooled us with a wealth of information, leaving us well educated on maintenance, future considerations and most importantly, fixed my Dad's AC on the spot. Super happy my Dad can now use his AC during this heat. Thank you Josie and Elkan for being really awesome at what y'all do. You have gain a repeat customer and will continue to share my positive experience beyond Yelp when the topic of Heating and AC comes up. 5 stars!

Eventually, I was able to get a technician out to diagnose the issue. I was told there was a Freon leak, and that was basically the end of the conversation. Once again, I had to struggle just to get any kind of follow-up. When I finally reached a manager, I was then told that an HVAC installation could not be done at all, which left me completely confused given everything I had already been told. At that point, I was fed up and went elsewhere. In the end, I'm out the $180 diagnostic fee, received no meaningful resolution, and somehow still get their marketing emails. There are plenty of companies in San Diego that do this kind of work, and plenty that seem to have the customer experience and installation process down to a science. Maybe Maximum is still working some of that out, but unfortunately I wasn't willing to keep chasing them for answers. I ultimately went with a local family-run company instead, and they did fantastic work. So in the end, I suppose it worked out for the best.

Edgar from Airmaxx proposed several different options for the best way to add air conditioning to our home. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and responsive. They were not the cheapest bid but I was confident they could deliver the quality job I was looking for. Vitaliy and two other installers arrived the morning of the scheduled installation. We walked the job and discussed my expectations. They got started and shortly thereafter Vitaliy came to me with the first problem. The location of one of the ceiling cassette units would not work because of how the roof was framed and the roof pitch. We discussed alternatives and decided on a new location for the cassette unit. The next problem was how to run the line set to the furthest location taking into account the shallow roof pitch and access. After some discussion we came up with an approach. Vitaliy and the crew along with Edgar were able to run the line set to the furthest location. The installation proceeded smoothly until we discovered that one of the condensation drain lines was not working correctly (thank goodness Vitaliy had the foresight to check it before it became a bigger problem). They got the drain line fixed and completed the installation. Before you question why there were "problems" know that any retrofit has potential issues and it is how the contractor addresses them that determines how good the contractor is. I say this having been a high end custom home builder in another state since 1986. Their workmanship was excellent ( lines and items they installed were plumb, level or sloped, and well secured as appropriate). I would not hesitate to recommend Edgar, Vitaliy, and Airmaxx to family and friends.

He told us to call if it happened again, and ideally to record the event, and he would come back and fix it. We did just that, and he ultimately was correct about what the issue was. He installed a new pump to replace the one that failed, cleaned the drain line, and the leak stopped. Uz was accurate in his read of the problem, honest about what the test showed, and then installed the part cleanly and quickly. He was professional, thorough, and knew what he was doing. I'd ask for him again.

They did such a great job with our commercial units that as a special favor, I asked Nick if he could look at our residential unit in our condo. When we turned on our A/C unit, condensation was crating a leaking water problem for the unit below us. Although I've had several well-known HVAC companies come look at our unit, (at a cost of several thousands of dollars over the years)...their supposedly trained technical were a total waste of money as none of them were discover the root of the issue of the leaking water. It took Nick and his crew only minutes to discover that the drain in the condensation drip pan was plugged, causing the water to accumulate under the unit and eventually overflowing (into our below neighbor's unit). They quickly fixed the drain and changed the filter and we haven't had any issues since. I can't begin to sing enough praises on C&R Mechanical and their entire team...
