Enjoyed the seasoned Virginia peanuts (just ok), the almond crusted brie with berries (excellent), fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans and the raspberry cheesecake. Restaurant is a hidden gem located in the Marriott near Fair Oaks Mall. Not super crowded. Open and airy atmosphere. Service was above average. We will definitely go back.

Unimpressed! Unimpressed is a nice way to describe this restaurant considering all that we went through with them. This restaurant was connected to the hotel we were staying at and coincidently, I located this restaurant separately from the hotel on Yelp so I was very pleased to find out it was in the lobby of the wonderful hotel that we were staying at. Let's get into it. 1 Hours of real operation aren't the same as hours advertised. 2 We arrive for brunch & it took them forever to seat us and even longer it's a help us. We waited a work shift to order and waited a lifetime for our food. We contemplating leaving... we should have left anyway. The food was absolutely awful.

Delicious and satisfying!!! I had the grilled NY strip steak and it was perfectly seasoned and served with tasty grilled vegetables and mashed potatoes. It really was better than expected from a hotel restaurant. Will be trying more from the menu tomorrow night.

Tucked away in the Marriott hotel, the 703 bar and kitchen provided excellent meals and service while I was there. Rain and long hours kept me eating in for a couple of nights. Many of the menu items use local ingredients and the bar has multiple local craft beers. I enjoyed the Pork Oslo the most. Be prepared to order multiple plates for dinner since many of the plates are on the small side. Breakfast was the least imaginative meal of all the meals I had but there were still local foods on the buffet.

This place is interesting because I have never really seen this place pop up in my searches until now. Some good things are that with our check in on yelp, we received a 20% discount on our food. That's a win in itself. It's located on the first floor of the Marriot hotel right by Fair Oaks mall. The food was surprisingly good here. They serve small plates as shown in the pictures I've included. But the big ticket item is the burger! If you like 5 Guys style burgers, this is very similar but better in my opinion. Plus it comes with fries that are also really good. If you're looking for a different spot to check out, don't forget about some of the restaurants and bars that are hidden in nearby hotels. But before you check out any of those, stop by 703 first. You won't be disappointed.

This place may be kind of tricky to find at first, but if you can find the Marriott hotel right outside of Fair Oaks mall you'll be able to find 703 bar + kitchen. (It's inside the hotel) My girlfriend, parents, and I had dinner here one night. Our waiter Dominique (according to the receipt) was very helpful and pretty friendly. He was able to answer every question we had about the food there. We were there just in time for happy hour, so we ended up ordering a lot of food. Good thing too, because the portion sizes are fairly small. Let's start off with the chicken wings. For $9 you get 3 pieces. Although the chicken was fantastic, the $3/1 wasn't too appealing. The chicken was coated in a sauce I can't quite remember, but I do remember it giving the chicken a great taste. The tator tots were so delicious that we ended up getting three orders of them! Again, the portion was a bit small, but the fact they were half off for happy hour made it enjoyable. For my main course, I ordered the country fried steak. While I was expecting a big slab of fried steak like what you would find at an IHOP or elsewhere, this place served what would've been a 1/3 or so of that. But, looks can be deceiving. Despite it being 1/3 the size I was expecting, it was a 9/10 in taste. It definitely tasted better than the bigger steaks! I think what made it so delicious was that the steak was drenched in the gravy. Also, the meat was of a higher grade than most country fried steaks. For dessert, we had a bread puddling and a brownie with vanilla ice cream. Both were fantastic and definitely good enough to quench a sugar craving. Overall, despite the portions being fairly small, I would definitely try this place again. Their happy hour specials were great, and the food was way better than expected!

I came to 703 bar + kitchen for dinner and left satisfied. The bartender was attentive, engaging, and decently fast when it came to service speed. For my meal, I had the Spice Crusted Cobia and the Yohanan Farm Chicken Breast. My favorite dish was the chicken. The chicken was moist and tender and paired very well with the intricately placed baby corn and mushrooms. The sauce the chicken sat in was absolutely delicious and tied the entire dish together. The cobia was also good, but I felt that the spiced cobia didn't complement the succotash all that well.

I've been here about four or five times so far, and each time I've had a great experience! The first time I was here, it was for restaurant week, and had an absolutely wonderful meal. My server was on point, so much that I honestly wished he was at every single restaurant I go to. The food was on point - we were wondering about one of our dishes and the sous chef came out himself to describe how the dish was cooked. Fantastic service! The other times before today were for drinks. Each time, Erin, the restaurant manager, helped us and she has become my favorite person to go for drinks. She's extremely knowledgeable about cocktails and her service is impeccable. Definitely can see that she trains her staff very well. Today we stopped by for Valentines Day and was met once again by Erin. She seemed a bit short staffed but that didn't deter her from providing her usual amazing service. Super attentive and overall the fantastic experience I've come to expect from 703. Keep up the great work, we will be back!

I came into 703 a few months back. I order a few small plates which where okay. I ordered these fried pork belly which was not good. The second snack where these ham sandwiches that hit the spot. I sent the pork belly back and ordered more of the little sandwiches. The food I give three stars. I Enjoyed my whiskey flights. I give them four stars for that . The Service was okay . It seemed like they had a new staff. I think if your in the area and want a nice place to go and have a drink while the wife is shopping this is the place to go! Or if you want to get lunch at a low key spot this is the place . It has a nice atmosphere and it very clean .

    BLT Bloody Mary

If it weren't for Yelp, I really doubt that I would have ever known about this restaurant. When it caught my eye, right away I noticed that it was getting good reviews right from the beginning---and has since consistently been getting them. Our meal today confirmed to us that those good reviews are warranted. As others pointed out, this restaurant is in the Fairfax Marriott at Fair Oaks. When entering via the main hotel entrance, this restaurant is immediately to your left. Just note that there is no sign anywhere telling you their name. In fact, it was confusing because sometimes hotels can have more than one restaurant. We ended up asking at the front desk and the desk clerk not only told us that it was the restaurant but walked us over there. Not only that but she waited until we were greeted. We were greeted by Julio, who turned out to also be our server. He was very friendly, polite and knowledgeable about the menu, as he was able to answer all our questions. We started with drinks. My husband had a BLT Bloody Mary, which is described this way on the menu: "Pinnacle bacon vodka, spicy housemade Bloody Mary mix, bacon, lettuce". There was a slice of bacon in the drink. However, there was no lettuce but instead 2 green olives on a skewer. We both noticed that the drink was the color of cranberry juice but my husband said it was definitely tomato juice. He enjoyed his drink and said that it wasn't overly spicy. I tried "the orange line". This drink consists of: "Johnnie Walker black, orange infused Earl Grey tea, lemonade". I have to say that this drink was my least favorite part of the meal as the Johnnie Walker overtook the whole thing. For a starter, we had the heirloom tomato salad, which consists of, in addition to yellow tomatoes, "buffalo mozzarella, basil, balsamic" plus some micro greens. We both enjoyed this. The tomatoes were meaty, although good, not quite as good as tomatoes in season. The mozzarella was creamy. We could taste the basil and it was in the right proportion as it complimented rather that take over the salad. For my main course, I had Seared sea bass. This dish is described as such: "lobster mac & cheese, broccolini, roasted tomato cream". Before ordering it, I asked Julio what kind of cheese was in the mac & cheese. He said it was mild cheddar---and he was right. The mac & cheese was tasty as the cheese didn't overpower the generous amount of lobster. The broccolini was tender crisp and lightly dressed with a butter based sauce. The sea bass was tasty and the tomato cream sauce added a touch of sweetness to it. There was a minor problem---I found a bone in the sea bass. When Julio came around to ask how things were, I pointed out the bone and asked him if the fish was filleted in house or did it come to the restaurant already filleted. He told me it was the latter and I let him know that I didn't blame the kitchen. Still, he took the bone back to the kitchen and apologized. Within minutes, the manager came to our table. She apologized and said dessert was on the house. That was a very nice touch! My husband ordered Cedar plank salmon, which also comes with: "seasonal vegetables (the veggie was broccolini), fingerling potatoes (actually, sliced and roasted potatoes), pommery veloute (which was a mustard based sauce). I tasted the potatoes and we both agreed that they were well prepared. Sometimes roasted potatoes can be dried out---that was not the case here. Even though the salmon was well-done, my husband said that it was still very moist. He liked the sauce and said that the mustard flavor wasn't too strong and it went well with the salmon. For dessert, they seem to have taken a page from Seasons 52 as they also have dessert shooters. I chose a tiramisu one while my husband chose key lime. Both had good flavor and were a nice way to end our meal. Before the tip, dinner cost $79 + change. It is possible to eat more cheaply here as they do offer up burgers, salads. sandwiches and flatbreads. We were impressed with our meal and the service. It's nice to have a place to eat in the Fair Oaks area that isn't a chain restaurant! Plus it's extra nice to find such a good restaurant in a hotel! We will be back next time we go to Fair Oaks!

703 bar + kitchen is located inside of the Marriott at Fair Oaks Mall. We stopped in on a Monday evening about 10:30 pm - 30 minutes before the kitchen closes for the evening for a bite and an Ale. All three of us ordered pints of a local IPA - "Freedom Isn't Free" IPA (Heritage Brewing Co., Manassas, VA), a bowl of the Crab and Corn chowder, and I ordered a crab cake sandwich - sans the bun - but kept the side order of fries with it. The Freedom Isn't Free IPA is a potent and strong IPA - not for the faint of tastebud - it's very hoppy and has a major bitter finish to it. But I like IPA's like that and am glad to see a local craft brew amongst their on-tap offerings. The Chowder was tasty - thick and filling. We asked for freshly cracked Black pepper. Our server checked and returned with the message that they have appeared to have lost their pepper grinder. So we were reduced to the pre-ground black pepper. The crab cake was rather ordinary and on the bland side - it could have used some flavor - salt, Old Bay, garlic, (something), but the fries were hot, crisp, and cooked perfectly. Our server was very efficient and keep on top of things. The ambiance is modern, clean, and relaxed. A number of folks were hanging out watching Monday Night Football. I'd come here again for cocktails and appetizers!

You wouldn't know it by driving by, but if you don't stop here, you are really missing out! This place is one of those hidden gems. Very off grid. The food is fun and flavorful. It's a tasting menu, small plates, meant to shared, so order many! The prices are great. Good happy hour wines & beer. Our waiter Rick was excellent and very interactive which I love. Get the country fried steak if it's on the menu. So much texture and flavour, you won't be sorry. I can't wait to get back there to have it again!

There are no signs outside of the office building for Fair Lakes Deli - and contrary to what one of the previous reviewers posted - Fair Lakes Deli IS NOT located in a residential luxury apartment building. Upon entering the lobby - there is a hallway on the left hand side with a sign pointing down the hall to "Fair Lakes Deli." I love coming across these small food operations hidden in office buildings - most of them are solid, if not pretty good places to eat. I arrived well after the morning breakfast rush (around 10:30 am-ish), so there were no customers present when I arrived. I ordered the meat version of the Breakfast Burrito - you choose a meat to go into the Buritto (bacon, ham, or sausage). The Burrito also had eggs, breakfast potatoes, onions, bell peppers, cheese and more in it. I requested both bacon and sausage - they were happy to accommodate my request. Plus a bottle of water. The frickin' Breakfast Burrito was huge! I could not eat the entire thing in one sitting - so I got the other half to go. While I was sitting there eating - one of the ladies working behind the counter came out and presented me with a complimentary sample of some sort of Korean pancake. I accepted it - it was unlike any American-style breakfast food - it was very savory (see attached photo). Very tasty! There are a ton of menu options here for both breakfast and lunch - all sorts of salads, homemade soups, sub, sandwiches, and more. There are 4 tables inside the Deli proper to eat at - and across the hallway from the entrance to the Deli is a rather large overflow area with all sorts of seating options. Food was good! Staff were friendly and efficient! Make your way over to Fair Lakes Deli and check them out! #FairLakesDeli

A special shoutout to our server, Sandra, she was fantastic. We started with the bang bang shrimp--perfectly crispy with a delicious sweet heat that wasn't overpowering. Easily one of the best appetizers we've had. For my entrée, I had the twin lobster tails they were tender, buttery, and flawless. The seasonal vegetables were fresh and perfectly seasoned. Simple, fresh, and absolutely delicious.

It's in a newish shopping center, which, for us, had a bonus-- there is a Harris Teeter there. We needed to pick up some items, so we did before having dinner. We were here for an early dinner. Now that it's getting darker so early, we try to avoid driving after dark, when possible. Thus, we were here around 3 p.m. and were glad to see they were serving dinner at that time. To drink, I chose a mocktail called "What a lychee" which consists of "lychee, pineapple juice, club soda". It was garnished with a lychee. I did enjoy this drink. My husband had a non-alcoholic Stella Artois. Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated immediately. Having looked at the menu before arriving, we each knew what we wanted. I chose to try the "Blackened Pan Seared Yellow Fin Tuna" which (supposedly) consists of: "Topped with jumbo lump crab meat, sundried tomatoes, shiitake mushrooms, creamy lemon sauce served with rice." My husband chose the "Shrimp platter," which (supposedly) consists of: "crispy beer battered shrimp, coleslaw and chipotle sauce served with hand cut French fries." It took a while for our food to come out. As I was eating, it dawned on me that there was no crab meat or sundried tomatoes. Also, the sauce sure was a creamy lemon sauce. It was more like a miso-flavored sauce. Hard to say if the menu got changed, but no new menus were printed up to fix it. Or was it that the young man who cooked the food wasn't familiar with the entrees? Still, despite the discrepancies, I did like this dish, although it would have been even better if they had prepared it correctly. My husband noticed that there was no Chipotle sauce on his dish. Instead, there were two small containers: one with ketchup and another with tartar sauce. He, too, thought that his shrimp was well prepared, although the breading didn't cling to the shrimp. This experience left us with mixed feelings. On the one hand, we appreciated the friendly, attentive service. Yet, on the other hand, we wonder whether it's worth going again, given the possibility of not getting all the ingredients for one's entree. We liked the ambiance, which evoked images of the beach. They have some nice paintings on one wall depicting the seashore, a lighthouse, and beach houses.
