And hey--I believe them! But here's the plot twist: I don't deal with the pharmacy. I pick up my prescriptions from Walmart, so I happily skip the drama and get to enjoy everything else Walgreens has to offer without the headache. This Walgreens on 535? It's my go-to for all the little things that keep a household running: gift cards, shampoo, toilet paper, and photo prints. Yep, we're still those people who print actual photos, and Walgreens has never let us down in that department. Now, we did go through a weird phase where gift cards would randomly show up as void at the register, which turned into a fun little game of "Will It Scan?" But honestly? That issue seems to have sorted itself out. We've had no problems lately, and I'll chalk it up to a glitchy moment in Walgreens history. Pickup orders are mostly smooth. Sometimes the app will say "delayed" for absolutely no reason (ghosts, probably), but 9 times out of 10 it's ready when we swing by, and the whole process is quick and painless. Do the staff go above and beyond? No. But they also don't get in my way, and I'm not here for small talk. I'm here to grab my stuff, earn my rewards (shoutout to my wife who is basically the Walgreens deal queen), and get out. In a world of chaotic pharmacies, long lines, and mysterious coupon codes that don't work, this Walgreens stands out for being fine. Totally fine. Actually kinda great. I'll keep coming back for the convenience alone. Pro tip: Use the app. Stack the deals. Avoid the pharmacy unless you like living dangerously.

The only reason this store stays in business is its prime location. Beyond the terrible customer service, the prices are absurdly high. The store itself is filthy, the food looks like it was cooked yesterday, and people loiter outside. On the bright side, despite the inflated gas prices, the pumps at least had towels and cleaning solution--though the solution was disgustingly dirty. There's a Shell station across the street with little foot traffic. I didn't stop there, but based on experience, I wouldn't expect much better. My realtor ordered while I got my child settled in a high chair. The food came out quickly, and the restaurant was fairly busy. The reason for my 1-star review is the behavior of the waitress who brought our food--a younger woman with glasses. When she arrived at the table, she held the plates out for us to grab, lingered, looked my son up and down, noticed he had dropped a few crackers on the floor, and then said "oh my god" with a look of complete disgust. I responded, "I'm sorry?" and was about to offer to clean up, but she rolled her eyes and stormed off before I could say anything else. I was genuinely shocked by how judgmental and unkind she was. My realtor noticed what happened and told me not to worry, but it left me wondering how she treats other guests with children. From that point on, I rushed to sign the documents. I didn't eat my food and asked for a box so we could leave. During the roughly 20 minutes we were there, the same waitress came back twice more just to stare at us in a way that made me extremely uncomfortable. I've never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. Had she simply said nothing, I wouldn't be writing this, but after this experience, I don't think I'll be returning.
