Terrible Member Service…read more I had an extremely frustrating experience trying to get a simple question answered. I called the store multiple times because I was trying to find out if a specific AC unit was available , but my app was not working. Each time I called, I was repeatedly placed on hold until I eventually had to hang up. I finally selected the option to speak with another department and asked to speak with a manager. I was kept waiting for about 10 minutes before the call was disconnected. At that point, I decided to drive to the store myself. When I arrived, there was no line at Membership, but the two employees working in the department were standing there talking to each other. I explained to a manager what had happened with my calls, and they didn't seem particularly concerned. They told me they would speak with the employees in Membership. What made the situation even more frustrating was that while walking around the store, we ran into the same manager again, and he was also on his phone. I understand that employees may have legitimate reasons for being on their phones, but after repeatedly being unable to get through to the store and then experiencing this in person, it was extremely disappointing. As a paying Sam's member, I expect better communication, accountability, and member service.

My parents lived in Garland so I'd visited the Walnut Hill & 75 location over the years and liked it, other than the fact that they're not allowed to sell hard liquor which is a BIG BUMMER but not the store's fault. I went to this location around 2pm on a weekday and it was BUSTLING! The selection was pretty good and just about everything on my list was in stock. The store is super clean and well stocked by happy, helpful and smiling employees as always. There were even plenty of shopping carts and baskets available which is never the case in downtown San Francisco. The lines were very manageable even though the store was packed with shoppers. My cashier informed me that this is the busiest location in the DFW area, but I'd argue that the Walnut Hill location is just as busy. I was thrilled that the lines don't snake around halfway down the aisles like those for a theme park roller coaster as they do in SF.

It felt like shopping at the full-size one, but with fewer people. I wanted a quick run and I got everything I needed. Check-out was self-service and there were only 3 lines open. I visited on a Saturday night so the store was a little busy, and having to wait for self check-out didn't help either. I saw one worker running back and forth to help people with the employee code because the machine gave an error when scanning items. Hopefully, that was just a one-time thing! Will visit this store frequently rather than driving an extra 15 mins for the full-size one.
