I know it is hard to I have an opinion about a 7-Eleven, simply because it's, well, a 7-Eleven. But I have to say, I thought this was a very nice one. It's a bigger store, very clean, very modern, and even has the new logo on the outside of the store. It also had one of the largest selections of alcoholic beverages I've ever seen at a 7-Eleven store. I think it was absolutely perfect for what I needed when I needed when I needed it while we were downtown in the city. read more

Store review: 7-11 quick shop along the Mag Mile. I have been here before to buy random small items and checkout was fast. It is well lite and clean. There use to be a issue with panhandlers outside but they seemed to have fixed this issue now with cameras and better security. Be aware this place will try to force you into entering a phone number for rewards, even after you click the deny button. The cashier literally told me to do it three time and had her finger hovering over the button to try and press the accept terms button against my will. Legally this is contract fraud and could result in a large lawsuit for 7-Eleven if I actually cared enough to pursue it but I just wanted my pizza. She threatened not to give it to us if we didn't put in a phone number. I put in 555-555-5555 and it went to some random person which means others have encountered the same problem. Also the floors were so sticky that if i would've been glued to the spot if I didn't keep moving. Anyway, avoid if you can. This 7-Eleven store is very busy. Dropped by here twice during our stay in downtown Chicago. Both times there was about a dozen people in line. Maybe, that is why the store and staff were not very impressive. The store was dirty and unorganized. Staff was not friendly, but they were fairly quick. After the second trip here, I decided we would not return here. Found another 7-11 store close by that was clean and crew was nice. read more

The store layout is shoddy at best. There are only four aisles, all so short the selection is sure to disappoint. Want napkins? Kleenex? Well I hope you like the one brand this 7-Eleven endorses. Paper plates!? What does this look like, the Mall of America? Lower your standards, Rockefeller. And, of course, it houses an ATM machine for a bank thousands of miles away, ensuring an insane processing fee and a dial-up connection so distant that checking your balance will take up your entire lunch break. But, because this 7-Eleven is lodged in the aorta of Chicago's corporate ticker, it gets one massive thing right: energy drinks! They have lots and lots of goddamn energy drinks. However, the condiment assortment varies widely according to store. How &#$^&#*@ hard is it to have a $%$&#%$ bottle of BROWN MUSTARD available for sandwiches? And why are you $%$&#%$ looking at me like I told you to pour gas on my $%$&#%$ sandwich and light it? Brown mustard is what you SHOULD use! Keep that $^$&%&@ yellow baby s*hit away from my sandwich. This does have a good location. That's about it. You'll have to get through a gauntlet of beggars who have been outside for years to get into the store. Despite "no loitering" signs, they remain camped out and harassing women as they walk by. Prices are inflated but it's the "Chicago tax." The staff just seems dejected - I would be too if I had to deal with the folks outside. Be prepared to wait 10 minutes in line for any basic purchase. I hate this place. The staff are extremely slow and don't care at all about the long lines that build up. I've seen employees lazily walking around behind the counter doing random stuff while only 1 register is open and 5-10 people are waiting in line. When they ring me up they never articulate clearly what the final amount is and I never know because the tax seems to get added on at the very end - I've had exact change ready based on the number shown on the register then the number changed - wtf. annoying. The only reason I go in this place is because it's the only convenient store within a 1 minute walk of my office plus they have a Citibank ATM. read more

I'm basically giving this 7-Eleven location two stars instead of one because it is convenient in it's location, hours and everything it has in it as a store. However, going to this one on a Sunday night just to pick up band aids and a couple drinks was pretty bad. We waited for twenty minutes in line just to get these few things. There was only one guy working, and he was moving at a snails pace. Which is half his fault, and half 7-11 fault for not staffing more people per shift. Also, I'm traumatized from a girl buying a bunch of lottery tickets and bending over to get them in her leggings that she was wearing like pants and seeing ALL of her bits and pieces. Rudest employee ever. I walked in this morning to get a cup of coffee and asked if the cashier was able to break a bigger bill. I figured she wouldn't be able to which was fine but the reaction I got was ridiculous. The clerk - Ronie - actually scoffed at me and rolled her eyes. I told her there was no need for that, I was just asking and she proceeded to ask me several times rudely if I couldn't come up with 55 cents for the coffee. I finished paying and told her to have a good day (albeit sarcastically) and she continued to give me attitude and make comments. I finally told her she shouldn't be a bitch to her customers as I hadn't done anything wrong. She continued screaming at me as a walked out the door. I will never be back here. I just got back from here almost 40 minutes ago.Im only writing this review right now because i have Internet access at Northwestern Hospital where I'm here with my mother receiving her treatments. I wont say that this is a top of the line store, but the store is neat and the prices are about the same considering where it's located at.The cashier Maria was super clean.She rang me up for my order of 2 Jalapenos and Cheese Taquitos($1.29 each), and immediately washed her hands!That almost never happens anymore. I think that lady deserves a raise..like instantly.Other than that, its a pretty basic store just like the rest.Remember its the location that makes any store what it is or what it will be.Its in the Chicago loop with a million stores to choose from ranging from low end McDonald's around the corner to Gucci and Prada(also around the corner).Its like a miniature New York for those that have never been to Chicago. Parking would be hell , so no i don't recommend coming here for anything unless you happen to either be shopping,some type of tourist, have a loved one in the hospital or on your way to the beach for a fun day out...Did i mention it was only a few blocks away from Lake Shore Drive with a perfect view of the Chicago skyline. read more

This is the worst worst worst White Hen/7-11 location I've ever been to in my life!! The staff is ALWAYS rude, the prices are ridiculous, and their window displays often reflect expired "deals." I gave this place multiple tries on my way to work when I needed a cup of coffee. I regretted it after every single try. I finally learned my lesson and went to the other White Hen on McClurg or Starbucks to get my coffee fix. There are other much better places in the area where you are treated with more respect. I give 4 stars for the staff there. All of them are friendly and personable with the exception of 1 female employee there. She really has a bug up her arse and it's sad to say but I think that's her personality-which is slim to none. I am definitely happy that they started doing pizzas there. The pizzas are cheesy-fied gooey if that's what you like. If you don't like that then avoid it. The sandwiches are great, especially the paninis (sp?) The icee machine is broken more times than not but those are faboo too. I know way too much about this place because I live in the area. read more

This morning was the first, AND LAST time I will ever set one foot in this establishment. I visited the 7-Eleven location at 201 E Ohio St. this morning, 11/10/2016 at 3:00 A.M. I was hoping to purchase something to go with my lunch that I brought from home, a delicious, yet cold, sealed and microwave-safe container half-full of beef stew that I made at home the day before. You see, I work the graveyard shift and my lunch options downtown in the middle of the night are limited, to say the least. So, if I want to eat a healthy meal, I need to bring my own if I want to keep costs in my favor. Anyway, I entered this establishment with my container of food in hand and asked the store associate very politely if she could please warm up my stew in the microwave for me while I look around the store. She looked at me as if I just asked her to chop off her pinky toe and said "No," without hesitation. Why not? You can't bring outside food in here. You do have a microwave? WE have a microwave, yeah. And you won't heat up my stew for me? Naw. That's just crazy. Yeah, u-huh. C'mon, please? It's cold outside and I need to eat some lunch. --- Well, I'm not buying anything here. Out the revolving door and into the chilly morning I went, cold stew and grumbling belly in tow. Feeling a bit frustrated and desperate, I remembered that there is another 7-Eleven just two blocks away, at 600 N McClurg Court. I leapt back into my company vehicle and within forty seconds, I was walking into this location, same beef stew and same grumbling belly in tow. Hey man. How are ya? Can you please warm up my stew in the microwave for me? I opened the lid a bit so it won't pop off. Sure, no problem. I remember what happened the last time with your chilli. Thanks. I'm gunna look around for a bit. Cool. Wow. That was easy. So, I picked out my selections to compliment my delicious, and now being nuked to heated happiness, beef stew, which was a can of Arizona green tea and a small bag of Stacy's parmesan- garlic and herb pita chips, and by the time I made it back to the counter, beeeep! - my stew was optimally heated, a transaction that took maybe three minutes. Thanks man! Is it hot enough? Oh, wait. The top is bubbling up. Yep, it's hot enough. Do you need a spoon and some napkins? They're right over there. Naw. I have that stuff in my truck, thanks. The 7/11 on 201 East Ohio Street, Chicago IL 60611-3629 has the SLOWEST CUSTOMER SERVICE in all of Chicago! Try to avoid this location if at all possible. The service clerks who work behind the counter are very scattered and are never ready to ring costumers. They are known to have at least a 10minute to 15minute wait in line. The sad part is, they are well staffed. I've always seen sales clerks / cashiers everywhere in the store "NOT BUSY DOING ANYTHING BUT TALKING" and there is only ONE clerk slowly checking-out customers at one registrar out of 3 open registers. One registrar, I assume is for costumers wanting only to purchase lottery tickets. The ironic part about it, i think it's there to avoid standing in a long line. BUT it's pointless because no one is ever behind it working and ringing up costumers. The clerks spend all of their time focusing on gabbing and giggling while customers are waiting over 5 to 10 minutes to be checked out. If you're on a lunch break around the area, PLEASE HEED THIS MESSAGE. So STAY AWAY from the 7/11 on OHIO STREET and McCLURG. It's not worth the wait. Especially when there is a super Walgreens just down the street with cheaper prices that can get you in and out in a jiffy. NO LONG WAITS or aggravation what so ever. I don't usually review convenience stores but this place is just terrible. The employees hate their crappy jobs and take it out on customers. Specifically, the older lady with the glasses is so over life that she literally wears headphones and listens to music as shes working. Who does that? I actually overheard her and another employee speaking badly about a customer and the person who was most likely the manager, literally heard them and laughed as if it was a regular thing. The 24 hour Dunkin Donuts or the other 7-11 5 minutes away are better options, unless you want to be the next target of their insults and gossiping. read more
