I had to give a special shout-out to a barista here (I didn't catch his name but it was right before closing on a Sunday). It was 5 minutes before closing (most businesses would've locked up by then). I was hoping to claim my birthday reward, and I thought I might be too late. But there was one gentleman solely working who welcomed me in with a smile, let me order my drink, and also made it with so much care, even though it was the end of his shift. It was such a small act of kindness, but it really meant a lot on my birthday. All 5 stars are for him. A huge thank you to that barista for going above and beyond. It's not every day you find that level of friendliness and warmth, especially right before closing time. read more

Starbucks - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Hello, On August 16, 2025, I experienced an issue at your store around 5:40 PM. I ordered a caramel Frappuccino, but it was made too loose. When I politely asked the barista, Mel, if she could thicken it, she turned around, slammed the cup into the sink, and threw the drink away. Her reaction was extremely rude and unprofessional. I am a regular Starbucks customer and usually enjoy great service, but this interaction left me very upset. I believe management may want to review the cameras around that time to see what happened. I hope this matter can be addressed, as I truly value Starbucks and visit often, but this experience was very disappointing. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Paris read more

Sometime in the last few months, they removed all the tables and chairs. They left a counter. There is no bathroom facility for customers. The last time I went in - June 16, 2025 around 6pm - the guy who waited on me was wearing literally filthy clothes. He looked like he'd just crawled out of a dumpster. I am not exaggerating. Instead of saying "What can I get for you?" or any kind of greeting he just stared at me with a sullen expression. I gave him my order and he said nothing. I cannot believe Starbucks has sunk so low that they would let someone like this wait on customers. Worst service I've ever received at a Starbucks. read more

Fast service and a large location. The service is quick and efficient. If your a regular- they do remember your order

We stopped by here just to have some morning coffee while walking. Nice, kind staff overall. Liked this location read more

Starbucks - a street corner with a tall building in the background - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Worst service. Sat next in line for 5 minutes while cashier had a full in conversation after taking first customers order. 3:10pm on Saturday September 9 so management knows who was working. read more

Friendly service , quick moving line, perfect order. Love the energy in here with Rihanna music and delicious smells from beans grinding. Nice long line cue so it really does move and there is also a dedicated mobile pick up area so no confusion on what is what. I made a conscious choice to leave Starbucks in hotel and find a stand alone store and I'm glad I did! read more

Starbucks - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I came here with my friend Sara today, and our barista was so friendly -- he took our order immediately. He answered my question about my free drink through redeeming stars, and there was plenty of seating for us to hang out and catch up. My friend ordered a water and a wrap, and I ordered the venti iced caramel macchiato -- our items came quickly as no one else was in line, and we can appreciate having all of their attention. It's rare at a Starbucks, and it was still pretty busy for a Sunday afternoon. I'd recommend this location to anyone in the area looking for their daily caffeine and small bites. read more

I'm visiting Chicago and decided to grab some coffee close to the hotel. I accidentally ordered at another Starbucks location but ended up walking to this location. The staff were able to still fill my order at no extra charge. There service was great. They even offered water and coffee to a woman that appeared to be homeless. read more

Based on todays experience alone...5 stars, just for the friendly, high energy Wayne and Arin exuded. What can anyone really say about this place that hasn't been said a million times before? Nothing...so basically the rest of this review is just me liking my own digital text voice. Read on or move on at your own discretion! I don't normally patronize Starschmucks...as I can get a better value just about anywhere else and I prefer the flavor of Dunkin as I am not really into strong, bitter coffee. On the other hand, since I get a frappuccino here, it is basically just a big cup full of cream and sweeteners so the bitterness is disguised. Just like the buzz is likely more of a sugar high than caffeine induced! However, I had some gift card funds to use and decided to use some of it up. Basically everything here would not normally have been purchased as it is "outside of my normal frugalities." I just can't justify paying the price they charge for anything. Glad I had some "free money" to blow though, because I do enjoy their double smoked bacon and gouda sandwich. I love to savor the flaky croissant-like bread. It is kind of like a croissant made a baby with a ciabatta roll. Tasty! I love the coconut clusters they have in the snack section. Seriously could eat my weight in the stuff so I'm kind of glad it comes in a small bag. But $4?! (Thanks again gift card!!!) By the time I got to my office my caramel crunch frappuccino had striated into three separate layers of diabetes. Since I am not a normal patron, I dont use the on the go ordering, so I was stuck with ordering in line and actually waiting for my order (*gasp* heaven forbid!) In the big scheme of things, it isnt the end of the world, but if you're in any kind of a hurry to be somewhere you better order ahead, because ERYBODYNTHEYMAMA orders ahead here so an order placed in line is going to be lower on the priority totem pole. But overall it was a good experience for the high energy of the staff, the sugar high and the flaky croissanciabatta bread. read more

HOW can a Starbucks be so bad? They're all cookie-cutter designs and offer just about the same drink and foodie options, right? They're all supposed to follow the corporate rules and offer similar experiences across the board, right? Well, once you put away the corporate handbook what you're left with is employees. And that's where this location sucks. It doesn't matter what time of day it is, most of the employees here seem to have two qualities: slow and listless. There's a lack of good ol' fashioned "hello" and "thank you." No one expects a spiel, but a hello would be really nice. I've had numerous orders screwed up--half a bagel instead of a whole one, a dark roast when I ordered blonde, a wrong charge against my Starbucks card. It all adds up to confusion. Then there's the homeless issue. Monday, 9/29 @ 1pm: Homeless guy asleep at the table. 2:30pm: He's awake but sitting there staring into space. And...he's drooling. Tuesday, 9/30 @ 12:30pm: A different homeless guy with his head on the table snoozing away and a big drawing pad that takes up 1/3 of the long table. 1:45pm: He's still asleep. 3:00pm: He's STILL snoozing. It's official. My coworkers gave this Starbucks a nickname: Desperation Starbucks. As in, we'll go when we're desperate. read more

I stopped in today to get my free reusable cup if you purchase a holiday drink. thank you Starbucks for this cool cup! I had about 15 customers in front of me; which is pretty normal for this location. There was something going on at the register that slowed everything down. It took me almost 15-20minutes to get my drink. Most of the staff was pretty friend trying to figure out what was going on. One thing that was off. The rag that is used to clean off the steam wand; that sanitizer was very cloudy. Didn't look like it was switched out. Also the gentleman that was making drinks at the barista station re used the shot glasses a couple times. Not sure if that is ok, but I would of at least rinsed them between drinks read more

I just love everything about this place. The atmosphere is spot on, enjoy that there's no tv so the family has to talk with each other.the servers are always really to give good examples of what goes well with each other and really seem to love to work there. I've taken my family here three times already. My wife can't get enough of the crudo bar, that Hamachi is so good. The pasta is something else, such as Fusilli Cinghiale E Fungi. Always wash everything down with some Leviathan. read more

Stopped in to get a cup of coffee today And the service was slow. No big deal but when I asked to use the washroom and they told me both of them were unusable I wondered what the health department would think of that. An open restaurant without any restrooms?? read more

This is a long overdue review. I was serviced by Wayne and he's was the coolest and nicest barista at a Starbucks I've ever met lol It was my family's and my first time in Chicago and we were very tired and nervous about being in a new city, but he made us feel very welcome on our first day here and I loved how playful he was to each customer. It was a Tuesday morning, so it's nice to start off your day with someone who will make you laugh. read more

I went early in the morning and Jacob served me, really nice guy. This is also a pretty good Starbucks.

Extremely rude cashier! She start to humiliate us with aggressive behavior after we ask a simple question about availability of croissant !!! Unbelievable ! read more

They have gotten rid of the Clover option for coffee brewing at this location. They were also out of stock in reserve coffees. In all fairness the young man at the register was very courteous and professional about it, but I see no reason to return to a location that abandons quality products in favor of cheap profits. Dark Matter coffee is only a couple blocks away and so much better anyhow. Bad move for a company who is already quickly losing market share. (Every interaction I had at the store level was pleasant and in no way are any employees to be reprimanded for my review or experience. Instead, please forward my review to the far away corporate suits that make these poor decisions. ) read more

The Starbucks in the Great Neck plaza is staffed by people who seem angry all the time--I've been there several times and each time both the barista and counter staff act like they are going me a favor my taking my order...if it wasn't so convenient to the train I won't go--in fact I've decided on several occasions that getting my second cup of coffee there wasn't worth hostile treatment I receive Starbuck management should better select and train staff as their service in Great Neck is simply terrible read more

The baristas that work at this location are amazing. I cannot stress it enough! They all know my drink (grande misto with extra hot soy - blonde roast coffee) and they always make it perfect. Sometimes I'm barely ordering, and they already have it ready!!! They seriously treat me like a celeb, and I love them. My fave Starbucks in all Chicago - hands down. read more

Oh where to begin when it comes to talking about how terrible this Starbucks is. I come in pretty frequently due to the proximity to work.. So I've gotten a pretty good gage of how things are... And they aren't going well. As most others have said - this is THE. Slowest. Starbucks. Ever. Besides one or two people who take my drink order, everyone else is pretty incompetent. There is no sense of urgency to get things done. When other employees or friends of employees come in, they take their time to chat and catch up while people wait. And wait. And wait. The way drinks are made has no logic at times. I've been skipped, had to wait way longer than my usual long wait, and not even gotten an "sorry for your wait" or anything. Mistakes happen, I get it, but myself and other friends of mine have gotten wrong orders more than once or twice. Not a huge issue since its been corrected every time; however when you compile everything else, it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth coming here. read more

One of the better Starbucks I have been to. Starbucks is generally my go to when traveling. Its easy, I know what I want and I know what to expect with food/drink quality. This Starbucks hasn't disappointed me yet. The store isn't very busy and they get your order right! The staff is friendly and the store is clean. read more

This location has been so-so with making my flat white. Always seems to use too much milk. I stopped in this evening and ordered my usual. It tasted minty so I asked for another drink. She got my order wrong the first time, but not the second. Best flat white I've ever had from this location! Thank you Rosa! read more

This is my favorite starbucks to head to before and after work. The workers make you feel so welcomed and there is never one day that you aren't greeted. I went there about 3 days ago right after work. I needed something to quench my thirst and the nicest employee took my order. The employees name was Sarah and she was so kind. My order was somewhat big and she was patient with me. Right after she took my order, she made sure I had everything I needed and helped me the best way that she could. I work at a food restaurant as well and she went above and beyond to help my needs.I appreciate her as well as many other workers at this starbucks. I highly recommend this place and you won't ever regret coming here. read more

This Starbucks is in the heart of Chicago, just a few blocks from Magnificent Mile. Although they have a steady influx of customers, they are efficient about making drinks and pastries. The staff has always been very friendly. It says a lot, that such a busy cafe still manages to treat each customer which such a friendly and professional manner. I would recommend this location to anyone. read more

2 stars because it isn't on fire and no one hit me. Dirty, slow and brimming over with indifference. Employee with multiple hickies sitting on break while every counter needs to be wiped down. My daughter's drink order sitting unfilled while a barista stands idle, staring into space. When you ask about the drink, he just turns around. No sorry, no nothing. Trump's America. read more

This has to be the worst Starbucks ever! I try to avoid this location, but when I'm forced to stop in (due to location), it's guaranteed something goes wrong. Wrong drink order, toasted 'everything' bagel, instead of plain, like I ordered, etc. Today, they were out of Pike! It took someone 5 minutes to tell me they had to brew more, or I could get a cup of 'dark'. The business model of Starbucks is quick, consistency. This location has neither. read more

Worse sbux ever--travesty. The line is crazy long (which, to be fair, isn't completely abnormal for a Starbucks). The staff act as if it's the first time they've ever heard the term "latte." Further, despite repeating our order several times at the counter, they still messed up every drink in our group. When we pointed this out, the Batista raised her eyebrows like, "soooo, you gonna still take it or...." Needless to say, we did not take them and waited another 13 mins to remake the drinks. On top of that, the lattes aren't even made well! :( read more

Love this Starbucks! The coffee is always made great and the staff is amazing! Lala is the best! She is on a first name basis with the regulars and makes getting coffee an enjoyable experience! Every time I order a classic oatmeal they give me the wrong toppings and when I specify what toppings I want they say they're out of classic nuts. The employees who work at this location have the worst attitudes. One time I came here with my family and Amber forgot two of our six drinks(which had been paid for) and instead of apologizing she accused us of trying to get free drinks and then she made us wait 20 minutes to get them. This is the WORST Starbucks I've ever been to. The only thing consistent is the bad attitudes of the employees. read more
