Hidden gem! I love stopping by here for my morning coffee. The ambiance is cozy and charming, making it a nice spot for catching up with friends, reading a book, or doing some light computer work. The space is small, so it's not the best for long study sessions, but that's part of its charm. The coffee is always pretty consistent, and while I have not tried the pastries yet, they look delicious. I especially like how close it is to the lake, and the baristas are super friendly.

Dollop is such a cute and cozy coffee shop. I got an almond milk latte, and it was delicious. They made a little heart shape in it. The baristas were friendly and made the drink quickly. I sat at the counter top seating by the window and got some work done on my laptop. This was the best latte I've had in Chicago so far on this trip, and I've tried 4 other spots.

I got a matcha latte while my friend got a latte!! The latte tasted so good and sweet. My matcha latte was lacking in flavor though :/ I could only taste the milk. Also, there's a compost bin but I thought it stunk up the small cafe area a bit. :( I would come back to try other lattes though!

I hate giving below average reviews but I wasn't impressed by my visit here. The biscuit was dry and stale, had to throw it away after a bite or two. My iced latte was ok, couldn't really taste the cinnamon roll syrup. Service could have been a lot better. I waited in front of the register for a bit until a girl decided to help me, when she did, she didn't look too thrilled. Maybe it's just this location??

I came to this location because it was the closest to the hotel. My husband and I were staying at and wanted to grab some good local coffee. I was not very impressed with her coffee. The sitting area was nice. However, coffee was just OK. Not much of a flavor I would say Service was quick

Small little coffee shop located inside of a multi-use building. Limited seating. Service was friendly. The coffee was decent and they had alternative milks which is always a plus. The biscuits were delicious- light and fluffy. A bit pricey however.

Not much to say for this little coffee shop: it's cute and it gets the job done. Chicago is littered with Starbucks, so it was nice to go to a smaller place. I got the Stinger bagel sandwich and it was pretty good: Egg, Bacon, Chive Cream Cheese, and Hot Honey. I'd never think to put hot honey on a bacon, egg, and cheese; but it worked pretty good. The only con for this place is that when this place gets busy it is busy. It's really small inside, so it's better to get in and get out. This placed got the job done when I wanted something that wasn't Starbucks.

After eating breakfast nearby, I hopped on Yelp to find a coffee shop to grab a latte at before walking around the city a bit. Dollop Coffee seems to be located in an apartment building and has a small patio outside. I ordered my go-to, an oat latte. It's a small space inside, I wouldn't recommend this spot for working or studying as it seems like more of a grab and go type vibe. There's a nice fancy lounge area adjacent to the shop but I couldn't tell if it was part of the apartment building itself. My latte was put together quickly, but I was definitely taken aback by the tiny size, especially for $6. By far the most expensive latte I had in all of Chicago. The drink itself was fine, but I would skip this place next time.

On the last day of a work trip to Chicago I needed a quick breakfast before I departed for the airport. I saw that this café was a short walk from my hotel and it was a beautiful spring morning so I walked their way. It's a pretty standard hip coffeeshop. You have a beautifully decorated interior with a few hipsters (do folks still use that term?) brewing up a storm behind the counter, and a selection of merch and coffee bags to select if you are in the mood to shop. I ordered a specialty drink (afterall I was basically on vacation!) and it was good. Nothing to write home about but it was about what I was expecting. I was hoping they'd have a larger selection of pastries to choose from but from what was available I picked out a scone that hit the spot. All in all if you're looking for a solid coffee spot this one fits the bill.

Not worth the money. Terrible coffee and too much hype. Food is also kinda okay. Do not recommend.

The meal itself was great! I ordered their Ranchero Breakfast Burrito, which is a decent size and is relatively "healthier" for a breakfast burrito. It comes with eggs, a little cheese, poblano peppers, black beans, sweet corn, and quinoa. I loved the salsa that comes with the burrito and, while they didn't give me a choice for a side with breakfast, the pineapple covered in tajin was a great and unique twist! DAY 1: This "sniffs…read morein" at 4.5 stars... We sniffed in here multiple times during our 3-day visit. Some of the things we consumed: YUZU NITRO COLD BREW: -- my favorite coffee drink here of the trip -- yuzu works very well and is clearly present -- very visually appealing -- smooth and tasty and not too sour -- only orange or multiple citrus blend coffees may beat out this for me RATING = A WHISKEY BOURBON CAKE DONUT: -- lightly sweet w/gentle lean towards moderate -- up to moderate bourbon sniff and taste -- not oily or greasy -- soft interior almost layered -- leans moist, not dry -- size is small -- $5 plus is pricey but a rare find donut flavor RATING = A NOTE: I do miss their Sicilian cannoli from 2022, but I tried something else here as a substitute later in the trip PROSCIUTTO PROVOLONE CROISSANT: -- buttery -- not heated up -- medium sized -- soft flaky croissant flatter, not airy -- nice quality pastry -- lightly loaded inside but good balance of inserts to bread -- a good light snack to save belly for our Italiano dinner RATING = A- We snuck in at the last moment apparently as we were nearly cut off from lining up at the bar at 9:29pm. We ordered the "ESPRESSO MARTINI FLIGHT" for $25.00. CHERRY LIMONE (LEMON/CHERRY): -- very cherry forward -- partial slices of fresh lemon rind -- not too tart, tad bitter -- it works RATING = A- MOLE SPICE: -- tiny cacao bean shrapnel on top -- moderately plus spicy overpowers the chocolate -- okay but weakest of the bunch RATING = B+ ORANGE CACAO: -- cut slice of orange rind -- clear orange on sniff and taste -- my fave of the three -- all 3 had creamy heads to them RATING = A DAY 2: NITRO COLD BREW w/UBE COCONUT WHIP ADDED ON TOP: -- very pretty visually -- initially the slow sipping for nitro drinking worked and I got a balance of everything in my mouth but then I mostly just tasted coffee....so I stirred it up and agitated it to blend it better and it improved -- not an item I would order often -- 2" foamy head RATING = A- RASPBERRY MASCARPONE CHEESECAKE: -- semi-firm exterior -- big price around $11.00 plus -- medium-sized -- bone/ecru coloring -- 5 fresh raspberries on top with a slice of dark chocolate -- thin shortbread crust was fragile and not thick enough, but I love the shortbread vs. graham cracker idea -- texture is layered and dense -- it is not NYC style nor Chicago style w/mascarpone but closer to Chicago style than NYC -- very creamy -- I tend to prefer ricotta cheesecake or Chicago style, but this is nice and anything is better than firm heavy brick dense NYC style RATING = A- The wife grabbed a fresh bag of the "Chicago" beans that we sampled on day one. Vino, pasta, bread, EVO, gelato, pastries, pizza, cheese, meat...you name it, they pretty much have it...and variety of each.
