All the tables were full and customers were constantly coming and going. I can see why after checking em out. Pricing is fair. If you compare it to auntie Anne's they are cheaper with better quality ingredients being used. Service was very quick - there is a kiosk at the front counter or you're able to order with a staff member. Within 5 mins our snack was ready. My husband and I tried a salted pretzel with nacho cheese sauce and creamy mustard sauce. The pretzel itself was cooked perfectly. Texture wise it was somewhat crispy on the outside with a very fluffy center. The nacho cheese sauce was better than cheese sauces I've had before. The creamy mustard was reallll good, we ended up taking the remainder of it home so we could use it for something else.

My husband and I ordered a pretzel dog and the Monte Cristo stuffed pretzel to share. I loved the pretzel dog, it was my favorite. A good sized hotdog wrapped in pretzel with salt sprinkled on top, so yummy! The Monte Cristo stuffed pretzel was served with a raspberry serrano jam. It was tasty, but my husband and I thought it tasted better with mustard. It was good, but their pretzel dog won out over that. Next time I'm in the area, I'm going to revisit this restaurant. They have a lot of pretzels and stuffed pretzels to try.

Chicken Paprikash with spaetzle and red cabbage was great. I started with a cup of goulash soup and dark rye bread. Fantastic. A complementary aperitif was served at the end. Excellent. Service was great. Very accommodating and very helpful. Seems like there are many regulars here and although I am not a regular I felt very welcomed. Ambience is local with a lot of history. Great pictures on the walls. Great posters on the walls. Bar with high tops out front low top tables a couple stairs up into the back. Great atmosphere. Plenty of German beer here good stuff on tap. The wine list also looked very good. I stuck with an HB and it was just fine. The cost of the food and drink I would say is on par with most places however, this is all home-cooked food. A far step up above many places. Definitely worth a visit.

Loved the history of the restaurant and enjoyed the wall art!! Wisconsin Fried Cheese Curds - Chickpea wasabi crust, apricot wasabi sauce Surprised by the dip being apricot but the taste was delicious!! Family loved. Would never know it was wasabi anything or chickpea crusted. Potato Pierogies (5) - Beurre blanc sauce, quinoa arugula salad, sour cream Very tasty. Definitely worth getting. I enjoyed the salad and the sour cream. Bread Basket - House-made rye, sourdough, wheat, lavash My family enjoyed the bread. 100% My son ordered and he ate it up. Disappointed it was not warm but still good. Wiener Schnitzel - A la Holstein - Pan-fried breaded veal cutlet, substituted fries instead of creamed spinach, pickle, house-made spätzle - German noodles, plus 2 fried easy side eggs, capers and anchovies Very good!! Family member could see why it was the most popular item on the menu. Enjoyed the spatzle as is that was underneath the breaded veal. Sauerbraten - Marinated roasted beef sirloin, sweet and sour gravy, asparagus, green beans, mashed potatoes Second most popular entree ordered on menu. Roast tender, gravy took some getting use to but was good overall. Went well with the potatoes and veggies - asparagus, carrot, green beans. Schlachteplatte - Smoked pork-chop, chopped bratwurst, knockwurst, smoked Thuringer, sauerkraut, fingerling potatoes Smoked pork-chop was smoky but a little dry per family member but other meats were tasty. I did enjoy it but I only sampled. Overall delicious. Ordered a side of spatzle - German noodles Disappointed spatzle was cold. Had them warm with butter elsewhere and was good. Lemon Tortellini - Spinach, dill, blistered tomatoes, roasted garlic cream. Very tasty!! Felt like the Tortellini melted in your mouth.

The reviews advertised authentic German food. As a German I had to try it. The potato pancakes were a good start, tasted like mom used to make. The Platter had a lot of food. I don't know what region this place is from, the sauerkraut and Blaukraut were not Bavarian, the Spätzle felt ready made and not home made. The Bratwurst was too fine for me, I'm thinking north German. The strudel was good tho. The service was fantastic! From host to server they took care of me and made sure I wanted for nothing, so I can't complain there. Decor wise this looks like what you'd imagine a German restaurant looking like in the US. Lots of banners advertising beer and German flags hanging on the walls with a collection of steins everywhere you look. Overall it's not "authentic" for me, but the food tasted good and the service was exceptional.

At Christmas time (Weinachten), the staff at Edelweiss Restaurant decks the entire places out like a Christmas Market (Weinachtmacht) in Munich. It is Delightful. I have eaten here many times, over numerous decades. It is a 5 minute drive from the cemetery where my entire family is buried. Oktoberfest 2025 begins on Saturday Sep. 6 and goes until Sunday Nov. 2 (it is a lot of fun if you like beer and live traditional German songs. I almost always order one or more of the following: Steak Tartar (as a starter), followed by Leberknodel Soupe (liver dumpling soup), and then either the Bavarian Pork Shank, or the Sauerbraten, or the Wiener Schnitzel (a breaded & fried veal cutlet that's as big and pounded flat as a large pancake) as my main. Get these with the Spätzle and the sweet stewed Red Cabbage for the best experience. There is truly no reason to order the burger or the salmon.
