I stopped by for coffee and pastries and admired the atmosphere and cultural touches throughout the shop. I came early in the morning, and you could already smell the fresh pastries and the aroma of the coffee as soon as you walked in. DRINK REVIEW Buko Pandan Latte - 4/5 Ube Velvet Latte - 4/5 Sakura (seasonal flavor) with Strawberry Foam - 5/5 I originally got this for my sister, but it ended up being my favorite. PASTRIES Pepperoni Bread - 3.5/5 - Decent. Pandesal with Spam, Egg & Cheese - 3/5 My least favorite, but still decent and kid-friendly. Ube Pandesal with Cream Cheese Filling - 4/5 My favorite pastry of the bunch. Biscoff Ensaymada - 3/5 A bit dense, but the Biscoff butter icing was good. The flavors overall were good, though I personally would've liked the coffee to be a bit stronger. The Sakura Latte definitely stood out the most for me. Overall, this is a solid Filipino coffee shop in VA Beach that's worth checking out if you're in the area.

I ordered from the summer menu and tried the Cinnamon Drift Latte (Housemade Horchata and Espresso) and it was sooo good. I only got a 16 oz and wished I got the 20! My daughter ordered a signature drink, the Botanist (Strawberry puree, milk, and matcha) with oatmilk and it was great. I want to go back and give that a try next. Lastly my husband ordered a cold brew with cold foam and enjoyed that as well. He also ordered the coffee cake and I wish I wasn't gluten free because it looked and smelled amazing. He enjoyed that while we sat outside for a bit. The service was quick, the staff was so friendly and patient, and the drinks were delish! We will definitely be back when we are in Norfolk!!

If you're not big on sugary drinks, I'd either skip this one or order it at 25% sugar. That said, it was definitely delicious and very pretty to look at. The staff was friendly and patient while we took our time deciding. We asked for suggestions, and they happily shared their favorites and helped us narrow things down. They also offer pastries. I've had the croffle before, and it was pretty good. Overall though, the drinks are the highlight. It's a small space and more of a grab-and-go spot with limited seating. But they have a huge variety boba teas, coffee teas, slushies, and classic milk teas so there's something for whatever you're in the mood for. If you're looking for a good drink in Virginia Beach, this is definitely worth checking out. I'd come back to try more flavors.

Another customer in line even asked us if we've been before and told us about the fun latte flavors. My mom and I ordered a cold brew each, and it was my mom's favorite cold brew she's ever had! It was good, but it was interesting because near the end of our cups, we tried each others' drinks just for the sake of things, and they tasted different - mine tasted less coffee, whereas my mom's drink had a was stronger coffee flavor. Maybe they were from different batches? Nevertheless, cold brews were great and I would order again. Like other coffee roasters in the area, if you buy a bag of beans, you get a complimentary cold brew, coffee, latte (?)! I was tempted to purchase a bag but they are so popular and only had 1 type of bean left that I don't prefer - heh, I warned that I'm a coffee snob. Would definitely go again/ask family to purchase beans for us out of towners.

I stopped by Kobros Coffee around 11:45 a.m. on a Friday morning. One thing that caught me off…read moreguard was that it isn't a standalone coffee shop. It operates out of Toast on weekdays and Perro Blanco on weekends. I ended up circling the block for a while trying to find it because I had no idea where it was located. Apparently they mention this on Instagram, but since I don't have Instagram, I only figured it out after the fact. I can't help but wonder how many potential customers end up at Mea Culpa Coffee, which is right behind Toast and much easier to identify as a coffee shop. Once I went inside Toast and asked, the cashier explained that I was already in the right place. Mystery solved. I ordered the iced blueberry lemon zest matcha latte with coconut milk, and it was genuinely delicious. The blueberry and lemon complemented the matcha really well, making for a refreshing drink that wasn't overly sweet. My only hesitation is the price. At $9, it felt a bit steep for a drink that appeared to be about 16 ounces and was filled almost entirely with ice. While I enjoyed it and would order it again, I'd have a hard time justifying the price on a regular basis. Overall, the quality of the drink was excellent, but I think Kobros could make the experience even better by making their location more obvious outside of Instagram and offering a little more value for the price.

As soon as I walked in I was greeted by T. who was incredibly nice and helpful. I let her know this was my first time visiting and asked for a few recommendation. After asking about my flavor preferences, she recommended that I try the Vietnamese coffee or the salted coffee. I decided to order the Vietnamese coffee along with a beef Spring roll. The coffee was excellent, strong and well-balanced. The spring roll was fresh and delicious. My only suggestions would be to include less ice in the drink and to use shaved beef instead of thinly sliced beef in the spring roll. I enjoyed my first experience so much that I returned for a second visit. This time, I tried the Peach Black Tea and a croffle with strawberry sauce. Based on T's recommendation, I adjusted the tea's sweetness, and it was very refreshing, with the sliced peaches being a great addition. The croffle was okay, I missed the sweet sugar crust typically found on them. The Strawberry sauce was also a miss for me. I found it to be very watery, more like a syrup made for a drink vs a dessert topping. Overall, I had a wonderful visit on both occasions and really appreciated T's excellent customer service and recommendations. I would 100% recommend stopping in and I look forward to returning again soon.

There's tons of space for remote work, community meetings, or just hanging out, and I noticed several groups using the open, airy cafe for coworking and conversation. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. I ordered the Monticello breakfast sandwich (with sausage, egg, cheddar, arugula, and a delicious aioli on an English muffin) and their Brown Sugar No. 05. A creative blend of brown sugar, rosemary, cinnamon, espresso, milk, and a hint of orange bitters. It was unique, refreshing, and seriously addicting! My friend went for the brown sugar latte and a blueberry bagel with cream cheese, which she loved. I was so interested in their nonprofit work, and after a quick website visit, I learned that Coalescence creates space for all kinds of community groups to gather and learn together, partnering locally and globally to lift up important work. Events, co-working, and shared community workspace are all available, with donors and volunteers supporting the mission so this resource keeps growing. If you're looking for great coffee, delicious food, or just a welcoming place to connect, this is it. Can't wait to come back!
