I mentioned to the manager that I pressed the claim now button shown on my IPhone. Again, the barcode doesn't work he stated. I stated that I would use my earned in store points that I accumulated to pay. "Lee" the manager repeatedly stated: you have to pay the amount on the screen. This manager was "exceptionally" "Rude" where I slightly recall another episode-event walking to this same location to use my big gulp coupon digitally. Their systems was down at that time. I recall this same individual was rude to others, the person before me including but not limited to, me. He had stated that their systems was down, unable to pay electronically; only by cash. Many, including myself had to leave their items on the counter and walk away. I've stopped by the 7-Eleven on Baldwin many times. Everything is laid out and very easy to find everything that you need. You've got all the refrigerated drinks to the left wall, the hot food by the registers, and then all the snacks and convenience items in the aisles. What always impresses me the most is how efficient and quickly the workers at the registers do their job. When I'm there in the morning, it's pretty busy but that worker is able to bounce between the two registers to help accommodate more of the customers and to be able to get them out of the store soon as possible as well. Parking: Free and spacious. This 7-11 is adjacent to Keewah Bakery. Doesn't look sketchy from the outside parking lot around and it's pretty clean inside. Okay so I've been going to this 7-Eleven for about 7 years now (it was on the route from my home to high school, and it's a block away, so it's really convenient ) Over the years the clerks have changed from person to person, but they've always generally been pretty nice and chill 90% of the time. (The other 10% they seemed somewhat intimidating, but that was ages ago) Pretty standard fare for 7-Eleven if you've ever been to any others. The problem with them though is that they usually have a very small variety of drinks and snacks compared to the other 7-Elevens in this area. For example, they did not stock the limited edition Mountain Dews over the summer while every other 7-Eleven in the area did. This is just one example, as there are other times when I was rather disappointed. Even their grill is somewhat inferior to the other 7-Elevens. While they have all the hotdogs and taquito variants, they don't have the section with chicken wings and pizza. (Once again, every other 7-Eleven in this area has them.) So I've gotta give this place a 2 star, for "Meh. I've experienced better." Stopped by to pick up some late night snacks. After I swipe my credit card, the cashier starts saying to me repeatedly, "tip" . . . . . "tip" . . . . . "tip" . . . . . "tip". After about 30 seconds of this mindless mantra, I tell him that I don't understand what he wants or what he's saying. He starts getting an attitude with me, treating me as if I'm some kind of agitator looking for trouble. He finally starts gesturing spastically toward the credit card reader and then tries to explain to me that there is a "tip" inside the credit card. I now finally realize that he wants me to use the new chip reader instead of the magnetic swipe. After putting my card into the chip reader, I explain to the cashier that I know what a "chip" is, but "chip" is a different word than "tip", and "ch" is not the same sound as "t". He shoves my food over and waves me away angrily. I witnessed a similar episode several weeks earlier happen to the customer ahead of me. The guy was asking for a particular brand of cigarettes, from this same cashier. The cashier pointed to a pack of the wrong brand, looked at the customer inquiringly, and the customer said no, again giving him the correct brand name. The cashier then said, "We don't have that brand." The customer and I could both see the correct brand one shelf below the one the cashier was pointing at. The customer kept saying, "down, below it, it's there, right there, one shelf down" repeatedly, but the cashier continued pointing stupidly at the wrong brand. This cashier has been working here for as long as I can remember, for many years. He's there all the time and must be the manager or owner. Here's some advice for you. I came to buy newspapers last Sunday and they charged me 10% sales tax for the newspapers even though the newspaper has the price and a print saying "TAX INCLUDED" printed on the front page of the paper. I confronted the store clerk and she insisted she could only honor their scanner price, not the price printed on the newspaper. The same happened to a friend who came to buy stamps and they charged more than the value of the stamps because they could only honor their scanner price. However, the stamps sold at Vons are honored at their face value price. During the summer, 7-11 advertised 99 cents for "all cup sizes" iced coffee. This stupid 7-11 put away all the medium and large size cups so the customers were forced to use the small cups. When I asked the same store clerk, she said she could not honor the coffee in a bigger soda cup. The way how this 7-11 handled their business is crooked. Any how I have my 8$ back and I'm never going back to this 7-11 again, they've had my service forever but they tried scamming, I recommend a major change in employees if not, someone to watch over the transactions.
