OK, first thing is, how do you justify $20 for a 1/3 pound burger? I can get a better one at the Coney Station down the street, a half-pound burger for $15. True, it doesn't have the 'ambiance' or the view of the waterfront, but it's overall a better meal in my opinion. And the wait staff is friendlier. This was our first visit to 7 Devils, and I going to say we will definitely be back! The service was good, the view was great, and the food was very good. My husband had the macaroni and cheese and really liked it. I had the oysters that weren't my favorite, but we're still pretty good. What we both absolutely loved was their clam chowder. It rocks! It has become the best clam chowder we ever had!! That alone is worth the trip! I do wish they offered it in a bread bowl though. Hubby really enjoyed his beer, too. The whole experience was absolutely amazing with great food and an outstanding team of staff. My wife and I arrived with no reservations and had a short wait event with a large wedding they were hosting in the second floor. The view and atmosphere was fantastic and food was amazing. The salads were well balanced and I got the smoked meatloaf and their pairings were on point with a great dessert to follow. After having one of the worst experiences at another restaurant in Charleston (not related this restaurant-Portside) for lunch earlier that day, the whole team here at 7 Devils absolutely shows what it means to run a well organized restaurant with exceptional customer service experience. Unbelievably bad service. Went here with a large group of 10 and never got sat. Continually kept pushing back the time we would be seated and blamed it on other customers currently seated. They sat a group of 8 people that showed up after us but did not have any open tables for us?! Spoke with a manager who said "I have no where to seat you" when there was 4 four tops open. We waited over an hour and 45 minutes. Another friend from our group spoke with the manager to voice his frustration. She of course blew him off and continued to reinforce that it's a currently seated customers fault that we are not seated. Our friend continued to voice his frustration until a dishwasher came out of the kitchen, ripped his drink out of his hand and tried to shove him out the door! No threatening words or aggressive language was used so the action was extremely uncalled for. Police were contacted and report is being sent to the DA for further action! This place is horribly managed and should be shut down! According to the officer this place is known for bad food and clearly bad service! read more

I was in town visiting some friends and this was the first restaurant I was taken to on my trip. Excellent view on the waterfront, very clean establishment, and absolutely superb service. I tried the Symbiosis Fig Stout, and was absolutely blown away by this very well crafted beer. I like that they have beer pairing recommendations for the fish, but I absolutely had to try this stout. Took my Mom there for lunch a few weeks back. Was anxious to try it since we love the original 7 Devils in downtown. I ordered the veggie burger which was good, but was not a fan of the shoestring potatoes, I like a thicker version of French fries. My Mom ordered the clam chowder which was too peppery for her. I asked if we could get some sour cream to temper the pepper, they did not have sour cream. What about a little milk? They did not have milk. The very nice waitress took it back and they added some cream, it helped a little bit, but it took entirely too long. My Mom is serious about her clam chowder and she was not impressed and left most of it behind. The staff was beyond nice. The views are amazing. The environment very nice. I made a reservation on the app for 6pm on a Saturday after I received a text confirming a 6:45 reservation I called and they said they can get us in at 6:15 at the earliest. We show up 10 minutes early got seated right away and then the wait game started. We didn't get our drinks for 10 minutes we never got offered any refills the whole meal. We had two little ones with us so I ordered a side of fries I asked if we could get our fries after waiting 30 minutes waitress came back and offered us 2 cups of chowder instead which only one of the babies ate.
