My coworker and I were on our way back from Muskogee and we're in search of something new but old style at the same time. We thought we were doomed to eating fast food or gas station when I found this place on Yelp. Once we stepped I side we both knew this is the place we were looking for. The food was very reasonably priced and the people were friendly. We both ordered the Hamburger steaks and they came with 3 sides. I ordered french fries for the fat kid inside of me and mashed potatoes and corn because why not. The corn I think was canned but still good, the mashed potatoes I believe we're instant but enjoyable, the gravy was perfect. The hamburger steak was also perfect and I'm a wierdo so I said no to the onions and I stead took shredded cheese and bacon. I couldn't have made a better meal if I was in back cooking. Great job! Also my coworker ordered a baked potato, okra, side salad as his side and said the butter tasted great and it's been a long time since he had a baked potato that was so fresh it actually melted the butter. We both plan on bringing our wives in the near future. Well worth the stop!!

This place is no longer 69 diner. Trying to be a more upscale steakhouse in rural Oklahoma is a bit of a stretch.

We eat here every chance we get when in Checotah. The food is excellent, reasonably price, and the service is wonderful.

The food selection felt like back when I was in elementary school but better since chicken and noodles was on the line when I visited. The line to get the food can get long during peak hours, but the dessert selection had plenty of pies to choose from. I noticed that there were some vintage dishes on the line such as jello salad and marshmallow salad which is rare these days.

You come, fill your plate and pay about 18 per adult... if you leave hungry it's on you. There is no menu. You just choose from selections that do not change much and all of it is included. The bbq pork is simple but good requiring no additional sauce. The fried chicken is tasty and simply made. There are chicken noodles that are as good as you have ever had. The mashed potatoes are buttery soft. The desert bar presents a Sophie's choice of deserts but you can take as many as you can eat. Leave the calorie counter at home it is not meant for this place. The ambience understated and plain as is fitting for the Amish. The staff is friendly. There are no waiters. You serve yourself. Good, simple and delicious food is on offer here, nothing else. Definitely worth the trip.

I was working late Monday evening so decided to place an order, to go, for dinner. The waitress who…read moretook my order over the phone and took my payment was very kind, with a good attitude, and answered the phone in a timely manner. There were a few families enjoying dinner in the restaurant. The atmosphere was clean and pleasant. I ordered the fried chicken dinner with grilled mushrooms and a loaded baked potato. The chicken was a square piece of white meat chicken with no bone. It seemed more like chicken fried chicken with no gravy. I got maybe 1/4 cup of grilled mushrooms if that as seen in the photo. The photo shows my untouched meal. The loaded baked potato, which I paid an extra $2.50 for, had a little shredded cheese and bacon, nothing else. No butter, no sour cream, nothing, just a dry potato with cheese and bacon. They placed 4 packets of ketchup in the bag as well. The food was salted heavily for my taste, the grilled mushrooms more-so than the other food items. I ordered an unsweet tea with this meal and paid $21 and some change. I felt over charged and my meal didn't fit what I expected to received. I would like to add that I have had their breakfast, salads, sandwiches and burgers and they were ALL very good, no complaints, which is why I rated 3 stars. This is the second time I have attempted dinner and have been disappointed. In my opinion, this is more of a breakfast/lunch restaurant.
