Wow! This was our first visit and I was so surprised! We went on a Sunday during lunch time. The service was amazing. We had everything we needed within a few minutes of asking. Our drinks and appetizers came out within 5 minutes of ordering. We had the garlic fries which were amazing, the beer was great. Then we ordered our entree's and both got chicken fried steak. Their gravy has green chilies in it and I wasn't sure how that taste would work out but it was amazing! I had the mashed potatoes and my husband had the grits. I'm amazed. We'll definitely be back. 100% worth it! Loved every second. read more

The husband and I tried this place when it first opened. I've been since but for private events. Our experience when we came for Friday night dinner was okay. I really enjoyed the mussels as they had good flavor. My husband ordered the pork chop. It was well plated, but pink on the inside. He ate most of it, but was a bit concerned that it might be undercooked. When I've come for private events (most recently last week) I've had good service. The appetizers served were also decent. read more

Staff was great and attentive. I had the shrimp jambalaya. Amazing! Loved the yellow rice.

We shared some appetizers and they were all pretty tasty. Pretzel was awesome, Reuben rolls were good but needed more meat and artichoke dip was good. Drinks were all very good. Really enjoyed the Drunken Monk which is one of their house beers. Excellent mules too. Service was very friendly but very slow at times. Also had to explain how to make some shots. Overall good experience though. read more

The food is good but could be designed and expressed differently! The ahi tuna comes on the lettuce vein which should be on the putter part for softer experience! Chicken piccata is very dry. read more

We got a large order to go for a Christmas Picnic celebration and the family loved everything! The boxes were well packed for travel which helped make the picnic a success! We had the chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak, crayfish Mac-and-Cheese, Chicken Alfredo and shrimp and grits. So good. While there to pick it up, we took the opportunity to try some of the beer. We only had a glass a piece but both were worth a trip back. read more

Came in on a Sunday. It is happy hour all day on Sunday. We started with the Caprese Salad. It is different than most. Different cheese and has capers on it. Then we both ordered steaks. I got the fillet mignon with mash potatoes and roasted veggies. Only one veggie and it was turnips. A bunch of beige on the plate. One or two turnips are fine but a whole side of them on a $33 plate. Really? My husband got the steak and frites. Over all an ok experience. I can't imagine how loud the place is when packed. There was only three tables and it was loud. High ceilings, concert floors and brick walls. I felt the food has too much garlic in it and over priced for what it is. I am not sure we would return for dinner. Drinks or lunch maybe. Parking can be hard to find. read more

We only were here for a local Crawfish boil... but the menu looked pretty darn good. Ordered a couple of old fashioneds, and they were soooooo good. Mixed perfectly. Crawfish boil was standard. We always love a good boil. They did a pretty good job. Service was wonderful. The best part was finishing our drinks outside on the patio. Live music and a good crowd. Was a really fun time. read more

I am giving 4 stars for the food even though I told my waitress 2 times what I wanted and it still came out wrong. Drinks 3 stars they must have changed bartenders. First drink was an old fashion was alright, second came in a smaller glass and no cherry. I can't fault our 2nd waitress they got busy on patio and first waitress went out there. Very disappointed. We come through bastrop 2-3 times a year and always stop here. We will never come here again. We will go elsewhere with our business. read more

(Now called 602 Brewing) Yikes. This visit was rough! The website and Google page looked promising, but this was not an enjoyable experience. We came in around 3pm on New Year's Day. Not many people were there. We waited around at the front, until we were finally acknowledged and told to sit anywhere. (Seems to be a common thing that people experience.) it took forever for someone to bring us menus, then to come back to take our orders, then FOREVER to finally get our drinks. If you're picky about your soda, don't order one here. I got a Diet Coke, but it tasted super weird. I checked with the server to see if they carried Coca-Cola brands, and she said yes, but that because they used a soda gun at the bar, all the sodas got mixed up. The sweet tea that my husband and brother ordered was not sweet, and they had to search for sugar packets at other tables. I also ordered a Moe's IPA, and I had to ask for my beer several times. I'm pretty sure they brought me the wrong beer because what I had definitely was not an IPA. My brother and husband ordered the chicken fried steak and shared fried pickles. I ordered chicken fried chicken. They said the fried pickles and ranch dressing were delicious. The food comes out and there is gravy all over my chicken. (The menu said that the steak had gravy, but did not say that about the chicken.) I tried scraping the gravy off as best as I could, but it ruined the food. If I had known, I would have asked for it without gravy. The steak was decent and the guys who like gravy said it was very good. The garlic fries were cold and soggy. Overall, the service was very slow and the server was very nosy as to why I sent my drink back and didn't eat my food. While I didn't enjoy any of the food, I was told the fried pickles were excellent and the chicken fried steak was decent. read more

Wow what can we say, WORST waitress on earth! Waited and waited and waited for drinks, then waited and waited and waited for appetizers then had to go run track her down for additional bread to go with appetizer 3 tiny pieces for a huge plate of mussels, because she refused to look at us while we're waving our hands like windmills , then my daughter had to go to the bar to ORDER additional drinks because she NEVER came to check on us! Then the manager had the audacity to come over and say well, she has a large table that needs extra attention.... Therefore a table of 4 not as important as a table of 8? Bread never came for the appetizer, came with our meal 30 minutes later.... SAD! It's a cute place, the chowder was great, the Mac and Cheese was extremely dry with no seafood! The Greek salad was soaking with dressing, inedible and the chicken fried steak, was ok... ! We were there to support a local small business. read more

We had a really bad experience here. We've been before, enjoyed the food even though the service bordered on slow. Tonight, service was horrible. We got there at 6:15, place was about half full. Waited 20 min for water. Finally, the bartender came over and offered to take an appetizer order. We had the appetizer before our server came tho take our order, around 6:50. As we waited, other parties were seated, ordered and got their food. Our server came by periodically to tell us she was checking on our food. We had no drink refills, waited until 7:30 then decided to leave just as they brought our food, part of the order had been left off. We brought it up with management and were told he didn't know about seating or service being slow. That's all we got, no apology, no attempt at customer service. read more

The beer was really good. I really enjoyed the ginger beer! I'm giving a 3 star for the beer and fries. I ordered the fish and chip meal, which is supposedly flounder, but upon receiving it, it was the texture of cod fish. I'm from Venice, La and literally grew up on fish. To pass this off as flounder was disappointing. The beer batter was true to taste however. My husband had the Gorgonzola chicken sandwich. He said it was okay. All in all, it was a pretty nice, laid back beer spot. *we dined indoors. The workers do not adhere to the mask policy AT ALL!!!! If they haven't already received a citation, it wouldn't surprise me if they get a violation soon. read more

This place is always relaxing and the food is good. The staff is always friendly and great to talk to and get great input about the menus and the beer menu. It's a very classic place for bastrop. The only conmen I have is the food portions are a bit to small for the price but it's good. The atmosphere is relaxing and yet energetic depending on the day. read more

The service here sucked. We waited 15 minutes at the bar for someone to notice us. They weren't busy AT ALL. There were maybe 6 people being served at the bar and the bartenders were all too busy carrying on conversations to look around and notice there were people who hadn't been waited on. Once our drinks arrived, we never saw the bartender again. We had to walk around to find a bartender to close us out because again, they were all too busy talking to notice anything else. I got a Bulldog and it was good but the service was irritating. I'm not saying this place is horrible but the service certainly is. read more

Great service! Friendly staff. I had the Ahi tuna lettuce wraps and they were delicious!

Awesome staff, great owner. Easy going atmosphere. Complainer need not show up. Bastropian hang out.

An unfortunate lunch this time around. Rob, our server, forgot to push send on the POS register so our entrée never made it back to the kitchen. Ended up being a 2-hour lunch. Not ideal as we were taking Mom out for her 85th Birthday. Certainly some good, but several missteps they need to work on their systems and processes for service. Bloody Mary's to start we're tasty. Apps we had the crab cakes and pretzel. Both excellent especially the pretzel. After a bit we got the soups, though tasty they weren't very hot. Thinking they sat back there awhile. Since there were only 5 other tables in there and Rob only had one other table I could see Mom was getting antsy as our food was taking quite a long time. We'd seen a couple tables get their food that had arrived some time after us. Mom flagged Rob to go check. The owner came out to apologize and reported that Rob had failed to press Send so the food would be another 6-8 minutes. Mom's shrimp n grits was great and my fish n chips was ok. Took another 3 mins for son to get his burger, they forgot the cheese and salt. Wife's Rueben came 4 mins after that (mom and I were finished with ours) and was a delicious sandwich. Owner came to apologize again and offered an Apple Crisp for her birthday. After 10 mins we figured he forgot and just left. Stuff happens, I get it, but you have to have a better process for taking care of those guests read more

Chicken piccata too too lemony told "manager?" who came to table to ask how food was and his answer, "oh I'll let them know" and that was it :/ Also lots of flies in the restaurant 7/20/19 read more

Well I don't anticipate this restaurant will be open much longer if the continue to ignore the training of staff. Shame on the managers and the owners, I've worked in the service industry for 12 years and lack of staff being trained is one of the number one reasons for failure. We arrived and we were greeted by a sweet hostess who sat us and brought us menus. There were several empty tables and the bar was almost full, we were excited to have a nice meal after attending a funeral and as we browsed the menu we saw three waitresses wait on the tables around us, no one bothered to come to our table or stay 'hey I'll be there in just a moment', they did not acknowledge us at all each time they walked by despite us looking at each one waiting for any acknowledgement. I ate at this place several years ago during the Bastrop Christmas festival and the food was good as was the atmosphere. Apparently that is no longer the case. Once I watched the one waitress go wait on the table sat 10 minutes after us I realized it was obviously not our evening to be welcomed at this restaurant. I read the reviews and thought wow I should have paid closer attention as we were completely ignored for almost 20 minutes until we got up and left without even getting acknowledged or getting a glass of water. At least there are nice places near by and we were able to have a great dinner up the street with a fabulous waitress. read more

This place is one of the worst places I've ever been to when It comes to toxicity in the work environment , I actually worked here for a while the owner is a cool guy and 2 of the kitchen staff at the time were cool and most of the waitresses except 1. I was mistreated a lot here by the staff I didn't mention, when I would wash dishes I'd get asked to do something totally different and when I would come back the kitchen staff would chew me out for not working on dishes because I was asked to help with something else, I also had health problems that were preventing me from working some days and they wanted to get on my ass and shit talk me while I wasn't around, like I can control it or something, but the worst part was the bitchy dyed-red haired waitress, absolute banshee of a woman always had an attitude was very mean and didn't care about how other people felt or were affected by her attitudes and made bullshit excuses to try and get away with it. This place has good food And a nice setting but the staff needs an attitude adjustment. read more

If you want food or good service, go somewhere else. If you want to be ignored while the staff yucks it up, this is your place.

I've been to 602 a few times but tonight sucked. Our waitress had a frown on her face the whole time and it took forever to get our first drinks - a draft beer and a glass of wine. When our food came we ordered second drinks and finished our food before they came. I tried to wave our waitress over to get the check and she had been wiping down menus for 5 minutes, she saw me wave to her to come over and she ignored me and looked down. I had to ask a busser for our check and the busser apologized and said the bar was backed up. It wasn't that busy and there were 2 bartenders. Also I had a fruit fly flying around me the whole time and the ceiling vents are filthy. It made me nauseous. I'll never go back! read more

Ask for Kimberly, she was attentive, knew the menu & had great info on the fantastic beers they serve there! This was the 2nd time we had Kimmy as server and she remembered our faces! The food there is fabulous! Had the hummus as an appetizer, hubby had the sirloin and loved it. I had the crawfish Mac & cheese which was stupid good!!! Ramon is a genius whichever restaurant he goes to and we always find him because we know there will be great food!!! This is a must for delish food!! read more

My father and I came in for dinner and to sample beers on a Friday night. The restaurant was short staffed and also experiencing technical difficulties and delays with electronic payment processing of cars payments. We were notified of both issues. However this is not impact our visit. Waitresses and staff were very friendly and attentive. Service was prompt and food came out pretty quickly. The food and in house craft beers were better than expected. I had the salmon asparagus and rice paired with chicken gumbo soup. Both very flavorful the cook and seasonings were terrific We both enjoyed all 4 beers sampled. And they matched the descriptions. My dad has shrimp Alfredo pasta and chowder soup. Both soups and salmon were my favorite. All items reasonable priced for the times. The waitress I believe Maddie great job and manager Travis nailed it. We will for sure come back. Love band outside was great. read more

Great food, great service! This time I had the Bleu Burger, a cheese burger with bleu cheese. It arrived timely, was hot, and the bun was toasted. Knocked one star off because they don't have frozen (blended) margaritas, only rocks. Minor issue. Highly recommended for the food and atmosphere. read more

Mustard bacon yum ness! We started with the hummus which you can and should totally skip. It's a bit to course for my liking but that's ok. We started off kinda like "eh" but we ordered the Reuben rolls and the 602 burger to share and holy crap it did not disappoint! The meat was cook beautifully by the hands of a god and the Reuben egg rolls were outstanding. I don't necessarily like a Reuben sandwich but the egg rolls were nothing like the sandwich and the mustard was amazing. The beer was unique and my husband and I both liked what we chose. Wait staff was attentive. Oh and if you don't love those fries you need to reevaluate your life. read more

Seriously one of the best restaurants I have been to and to top it off perhaps the best brewery in the Austin area and I LOVE Austin Beer works, lol. First the beer... I sampled everyone of their beers. I HIGHLY recommend ordering the pretzel appetizer with a flight of their beers. Try all their beers first, then try them while eating the pretzle. They have perhaps the best front flavored beers I have ever had. Even if you hate beer... try theirs and it might just change your mind. Their Griswold Winter Warmer literally taste like Christmas if you are into seasonal beers as well. Bring your own growler to take some home with you because there's not a place in Bastrop that sells growlers. Second the food... Not a single bad option on their menu in my opinion. Prices are fair and the plates were enough food to make you happy instead of having to leave a ton of food at the table because you can't finish it. Today we had the Fafta and the Shrimp and Smoked Gouda Grits... They were both amazing! Third the service... We were sat immediately on a Saturday afternoon. The people were friendly, we had beer in our hands within about 5 minutes of walking in and appetizer in about 10 minutes. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable about their menu and drinks and the local area as well. read more

Nice place on Main St. Been there several times. Their grits are a-maze-ing! All of the food is good and hearty. Service is friendly, knowledgeable and always available. The owner also comes around and checks in. Seems to be popular without too much of a wait. We had a large group that needed a place to eat together and they allowed us to order ahead of time and had our food ready at a certain time. It was very convenient! read more

Ive been wanting to try this place a while, but the reviews have kept me from going. When we walked in. No one greeted us, welcomed us, or even looked at us for 3-4 minutes. (There was only one other couple there at the time). Once we were acknowledged, we were told we could sit anywhere. We picked a table and were pretty promptly greeted by our very friendly waitress. We ordered drinks. My husbands bottled beer came out pretty quick. My beer flight came out 10 minutes later. One of the beers was totally flat. The rest of the flight was pretty good. We ordered the pretzel as an appetizer. That was pretty good but the beer cheese was cold. I also ordered a Bloody Mary and it was pretty good. There were quite a few people working there/ work there and were just hanging out chatting at the bar while more patrons came in and stood around waiting to be greeted. We both got the 602 burger. It was cooked well, but majorly lacked any flavor. Overall, we were pretty bummed. Other than our waitress, it seemed like none of the other staff cared to help anyone. The bartender may have been having a bad day because she clearly didn't want to be there. She didn't smile once and was very short with anyone that asked her a question. Now I understand why others have posted in yelp that they were frustrated with the service. COVID. Only the two waitresses wore masks. No one else that worked there wore masks. The tables are definitely not 6 feet apart. read more

Just don't go here. At some point ownership has changed, and the place has gone down the tubes. Tables were filthy. Staff was openly hostile and didn't care because "my dad is the manager." Bartender clearly has been making drinks for 5 hot minutes without a clue how to make or garnish a drink. When confronted about awful drink with zero garnishes, again hostile staff. Manager did not even begin to apologize for the worst possible service. We've been going to this restaurant for five years through multiple owners. Giving this new staff, "manager", and current service the biggest thumbs down. So very disappointed. read more

My husband and I were not sure if we wanted to stop here because of some of the bad reviews. But we are glad we did. Tyler, the manager, was very polite and prompt with service. The other ladies working at the time we polite and friendly. We had great service and good beers. We would go again! read more

My first impression was a little dive on Main Street with a bar attached. Waking in, however, looked like a fancy bistro with an old style 1800s bar. I was amazed. The food was incredible. I had the pork chop and was caught off guard when I was asked how I would like it cooked. I always thought it was Well Done, or go home, but a medium well pork chop of that thickness was great and juicy. My partner got the shrimp and grits and I though he was going to start licking the plate when he was done. It brought a tear to his eye. The rotating selection on the tap bar is always full of surprises. I was actually surprised to find a porter that I knew and enjoyed. I'm not a big drinker so this was a treat for me. read more
